Private Pool Villa | Walk to Beach & Resort Access

Villa Sol 13 is part of a villa/hotel complex in Playa Hermosa. The property seemed a little run down to us (especially the plunge pool with missing tiles on the bottom). We communicated this with the property manager and they promptly made efforts to make things right for us. One thing missing from the checkin instructions was that you should go to reception and get a wristband so you can ride the complementary shuttle to Playa Hermosa (beach).This resort was a little too rowdy for our family with the road noise and lots of big high school tour groups at the time—but if you appreciate close proximity to the beach where you can see beautiful sunsets, a swim up pool bar, and spacious bedrooms (each with it’s own bathroom), and convenient parking just above the villa entrance then you might enjoy this property.There is a cute family of raccoons that swing by all the villas in the evening, so make sure those doors are closed at dusk:) The washer/drier is not in the villa—it is in a little building by the parking and is shared.

We loved this location with our own dip pool, access to the property’s larger pool, plus easy access to the beach. Our entire stay was memorable! An added plus was our property manager, Alejandro, quick and attentive service.

The Villa was very clean and well stocked. We did most of our own cooking as a local mini mart is only about a 10 minute walk. The shuttle service on the resort is very convenient, whether you want to pop to the beach or up to the restaurant. Having a private pool made all the difference and once we figured out the evaporation rate and kept a trickle pouring into it from the hose provided it was a sanctuary. A dip before bed became our routine. Heaven Our Krain rep, Byron, went above and beyond to provide help and we felt very well taken care of. We would definitely come back. It was the perfect spot for a friend's reunion.

Now let's talk about the villa! WOW. We were already staying in a Villa a short distance away. When we saw this Villa that our friends were staying in? Amazing. Lots of outdoor space. Lots of seating areas both outside and inside. The closet space is to die for. A short walk to reception and shuttles. A 10 minute walk to the supermarket. A short walk to an amazing restaurant Gingers. And very close to all of the resorts amenities. Close but not too close. It's a short walk to the beach but it is a short steep walk lol. We love this area. It is not heavily commercialized. Lots of privacy. We will definitely be back.

Despite its proximity to the road, which didn't bother us, the villa's privacy and outdoor space more than compensated for it. Among all the villas, this one had the most beautiful and secluded yard. The master bedroom's en-suite with a king bed and walk-in closet offered luxurious comfort, while the well-equipped kitchen and outdoor grill provided convenient dining options. The private laundry facilities were a nice addition. Although we didn't utilize the resort amenities aside from the beach shuttle, they included access to pools, jacuzzi, and restaurant. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Expect daily visits from raccoons, cats, skunks, possums, and birds, as the villa seems to be on what we fondly call the critter highway. The proximity to various beaches, towns, and activities made exploring the area effortless. The added benefit of KRAIN Concierges ensured a seamless vacation experience. They were attentive and promptly addressed any questions we had. We highly recommend Villa 13 to anyone seeking an unforgettable retreat in Costa Rica!

Property was spacious and outside area was wonderful. We did get nightly visits from Raccoons & morning visits from cats. There is only one TV in the villa in the master bedroom. We did not find any baking sheets, etc for the oven. We found the master bedroom to be very noisy with the proximity to the road. The shuttle service was great. Parking was a bit of an issue though. Beach was gorgeous & great for swimming, paddle boarding etc.

This property was perfect. Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated. The only criticism is that it is right next to the main road so the traffic noise was a little intrusive. I am particularly sensitive to sound but had my noise cancelling earphones so I could sit on the deck and read when I wanted to be quiet. The resort was well run, the shuttle to the beach ran every 10 minutes but it was an easy walk as well. The view from the restaurant is as beautiful as the pictures show. We were very happy. Also Krain was great about responding to our questions.

We stayed for a month and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The Villa is very private, had a great plunge pool and within walking distance to the beautiful beach, restaurants and grocery stores. Allan (concierge) and David (property manager) were very helpful quick to respond to emails and calls. Only complaint is traffic noise and the pool area could use a couple of lounge chairs.
