Stayed Jun 28, 2025We had a lovely week staying in the beautiful Palazzo Valentino. We were 10 adults and 2 grandchildren, family and friends from West and East coast, and Sweden. The home fit us all very nicely. We spent most of our time outdoors enjoying the stunning views of Lago Maggiore. It was quite a climb uphill from the parking area, but we got used to it. The kitchen was beautiful and fun to cook in, there were lounge chairs, lawn, barbecue and games for the kids, even chess! We enjoyed exploring the towns and found a great butcher and produce for cooking. We visited the Borromean Islands and rented 2 pontoon boats for the 12 of us to motor around the lake. It was a very special week and we would highly recommend the Palazzo Valentino to everyone.

Stayed May 24, 2025Absolutely perfect house with the best-equipped kitchen ever. Valentino was charming and helpful. We loved being there, but the climb up from the parking lot is wearing. Perfect for us and our daughter, son-in-law and grandson but because of restrictions on such an historic house there are only two bathrooms and a powder room, so might be harder for non- related larger group. The view is astonishing and never gets old. There is not much to Oggebbio itself, but Cannero Riviera just up the road is delightful. We had a great time. The little beachside bar in Cannero is perfect for breakfast, and Valentino provided a very helpful long list of many other restaurants and activities. You won’t want to leave!

Stayed Sep 8, 2024This was our second visit to Villa Valentino. The setting is remarkable, overlooking the Lago Maggiore with 180-degree views of the grand lake and hills beyond. The villa is spacious and maintained to a very high standard. The bedrooms grand and numerous. The kitchen is well-appointed and large, accommodating for our group occasions for shared meal preparation. We dined outside on the balcony covered with a retractable awing in sun and light rain. The spacious surrounding land and patios afforded opportunities for relaxation. This villa is true favorite. We plan on returning.

Stayed Jun 1, 2024The villa is absolutely spectacular and lives up to the beautiful photos. The view of the lake from every room is truly stunning. We spent a lot of time on the terrace - the perfect place to watch the sunrise with a coffee and the sunset with a glass of wine. We found plenty of things to do - hiking and train ride through Italy and Switzerland, day trip to Milan, Borromean islands tour (a must). Valentino (the host) went above beyond - providing many recommendations and assisting with reservations. There are a couple of restaurants in walking distance which we enjoyed and many others in the surrounding area. The beautiful view does mean that there are stairs to navigate which was not an issue for us, but something to be aware of.. It was a magical stay and we can't wait to come back.

Stayed Sep 21, 2023Valentino’s home was wonderful for our family of 7 adults. Beautiful setting, plenty of space, convenient to small towns for shopping and restaurants and a gracious host! Valentino provided a helpful list of suggestions regarding sites to see, stores, and restaurants. As we were leaving, he gave us good directions for travel (rental Car return and trains). We took advantage of the outside grill for two evening meals. Large refrigerator and 2 Washers and dryers were a great convenience. One thing to take note of: a car is needed while there. The parking is off site and free but does requires a 2 minute walk up a hill. The view of the lake and mountains is very peaceful. Our 10 days were well paced with hiking, Island tours, ferry ride across the lake, cable car ride in Switzerland as well hours relaxing at the home. You will enjoy your stay!

Stayed Jun 10, 2023Simply the best vacation rental experience we have ever had. Really it's such a special place it doesn't feel right to think of it as a mere rental. Valentino is a gracious host, and the palazzo is incredibly well-appointed--not with rental-grade ikea--but with carefully-chosen furniture, antique china, and a kitchen so beautiful that you'll want to spend time in it between meals. The location is quite convenient to anything on the west side of the lake by car, and Valentino will give you a list of even more things to explore close by, but leave time in your schedule to just marvel at it all from the terrace.

Stayed Sep 3, 2022We had an absolutely wonderful time sharing this property with a large group of friends and family which included adults and young children. All were well accommodated. The villa and gardens are lovely and very well maintained and the view is breathtaking. It was hard to tear ourselves away for any sightseeing with a vista this lovely. Valentino was there to meet us at both the beginning and end of our stay to share wonderful stories of the history of this unique property and its renovation which served to further enhance our appreciation. He was incredibly charming and made us all feel very welcome. We hope to come back!
