Stayed Jul 9, 2025First and foremost the hosts and property were amazing. The property is old and rustic but has all the amenities needed. The pool area is a small paradise in itself with an amazing view of Etna. The area is vibrant and loud as there is always something happening both with culture and history. The church bells are wild, be prapared.Thank you Carmelo and Alessandra

Stayed Jun 7, 2025really lovely old style italian propoerty but equipped well. The old style adds to the charm of the propoerty. The outdoor spce a large with many shaded areas and a great pool. The hosts were very welcoming and gave a good introduction. The location is great - walking distance to the local town which is pretty and friendly. Discovered a couple of really lovely restaurants.

Stayed Sep 10, 2024The location in the heart of a small town, the beautiful outside area, the communication with the owner were all excellent. However, we were not prepared for such a tiny kitchen (what you see in the photo is all you get!), the upstairs bedroom has a downstairs bathroom (that is not clear in the listing) and there is only AC in the upstairs bedroom. Overall the villa seems a little small for 4 bedrooms, but we loved our stay and really enjoyed all the positives.

Stayed Jul 20, 2024We had a wonderful stay, it was relaxing and absolutely stunning. The pool area is the biggest selling feature, with views of Mount Etna and many sitting areas. The house had everything you could need, although only one room has AC so it did get a little hot at night. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

Stayed Jul 6, 2024The villa is everything and more than is shown in the promotional shots, you have to be there to appreciate how fantastic the garden, pool and views are. Mount Etna was erupting at times during our stay and that was amazing to see, it had unfortunately covered the town in ash before we got there but Carmelo the owner had done a great job of cleaning the pool so we could use it. One thing to mention is the church bells are very loud and go crazy at seemingly random times, so take your earplugs!

Stayed Jun 29, 2024The house was cute and clean but unfortunately didn’t meet our expectations. One of my most important requirements when booking our houses while on our trip to Italy was a/c and washing machine. We stayed in 4 total properties while traveling with our family and this was the only one that was a disappointment. We arrived around 10:00 pm on a Friday night and there wasn’t parking near the house. We had to park about two blocks away. When we got to the house and shown around the first thing I noticed was how hot inside the house was. There were 4 total bedrooms and only 1 of the 4 bedrooms had an air conditioner in it which only cooled the one room. There were fans in all of the other bedrooms but no air in the kitchen or living room. The house was an easy 80 degrees inside even at night. The first whole day we were there we left for a few hours and made sure the fans were on in hopes that it would keep the air circulating. When we got home later that day the fans had been turned off as well as the one small mini split in the one bedroom. Super frustrating to know that the home owners came in while we were gone and shut them off. I get that all lights should be turned off while we are gone, we treated every house we stayed in as we would our own home but it was very intrusive to know they came in and turned off the fans and small unit. We definitely would not recommend nor would we stay here again.

Stayed Jun 22, 2024Our family included 5 adults and two boys 13 and 15. We all enjoyed the property for its charm, its variety of places to sit and talk, read, enjoy a meal, or take in the surroundings. We enjoyed the immediate neighborhood, including restaurants, a bakery across the street, and the nearby piazza. A / C only in the upstairs bedroom, but not a problem because at roughly 1,000 feet above sea level, evening temps (in late June) were comfortable and we were out all day! Carmelo the host is friendly and accommodating, the property and pool well- maintained. Our stay was a very good value. We would stay there again!

Stayed May 2, 2024Our family has had a wonderful holiday in Sicily. The house is very comfortable for 7 adults with its 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. We rented a car and visited Taormina, Catania, Syracuse, Giardini Naxos and Agrigento. Trecastagni itself is a nice village with easy access to restaurants , fresh fruit and vegetables, and supermarkets. The bakery opposite the house is excellent. We can highly recommend a stay in Carmelo's house.

Stayed Dec 29, 2023This was a fantastic home in a small town outside Catania city centre. A prefect place to watch the New Year fireworks (from the close by church) and have a NY dip in the pool! Perfect location to get to Etna (35 min drive) and other close towns - Taormina, Syracuse, Noto, Catania. The house is in a small village with an excellent bakery across the main gate, great fresh fruit and fish shops, and fabulous restaurants - highly recommend San Anton. Carmelo is a very nice host and helpful when we asked about local info. Our family of 8 - 6 adults and 2 kids - had more than enough room.
