Stayed Oct 20, 2025Get ready for the mosquitoes! This place would have been perfect. The staff, especially Lito is definitely a keeper. Was very disappointed to realize I can’t just step out the house and enjoy the beach. You cross the street and walk to the beach; but it’s private. The most challenging part is the mosquitoes! The owner sells a natural spray, I had lotion with lavender essential oil, smoke, etc. Nothing stopped them, and they never stopped biting either.

Stayed Apr 25, 2025If you want to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle, this is your place. The views from the dining area are mesmerizing of the sea. The sunsets are breathtaking from your private beach. The best part was the people. Koy prepared our meals with a Philippine touch. All dishes were delicious. Bhong was our driver and tour guide. We went to the waterfall, a fishing village, the butterfly garden and of course shopping at the Mart. The only drawbacks were no a/c and little hot water.

Stayed Aug 15, 2023Communication with the owner was great from the start. The staff was great. Lito and Ria were so sweet and helpful. The room was huge and comfortable. The absolute best part of the trip? Cooking on the wood fired “stove”! We bought fresh fish, squid, and pork 25 minutes down the road from my new friend, Mr. Domingo. There are many positives about the stay. Only two negatives: we only had hot water for the shower on the first night. But that was no big deal. Honestly, we forgot to tell Lito about the water. The only gear we found at the beach was an old truck innertube and a beat up surfboard. The inner tube was fun enough. The board…should be thrown out. If you’re thinking of staying here, read everything. There is NO cell service. Electricity is on from 6pm to 6am with Wi-Fi available through starlink. There is NO aircon. But it’s not really needed. The rooms get very comfortable after dark. So, if you want to get away from everyday life and it’s many distractions, the Villa is probably for you. My fiancé and I loved it. (I asked her to marry me while we were here) A big reason I chose the Villa was the location. It’s on the West coast so we got the ocean sunset. What girl would turn down a marriage proposal on the beach at sunset?! Mine said yes!

Stayed Mar 14, 2023The Villa is very private and located in the jungle with its’ own private beach area. We chose to have Theresa cook for us and the food was outstanding, giving us an authentic Philippine food experience. Herwig took us hiking and was around for helping us with planning our excursions and serving our drinks. We were blessed to be at the Villa to enjoy the bioluminescent algae which was a magical experience. The rest of the staff was also very helpful and kind.

Stayed Mar 21, 2022We had a memorable week at Herwig and Theresa’s beautiful villa and beach. Herwig was so communicative and generous in helping coordinate our arrival and transportation to and from the villa, which is about 1.5hrs from Puerto Princesa. The beach and crystal waters were the best I’ve ever seen. We were able to snorkel right off the beach. The villa is remote, so if you stay plan on being there and just relaxing and unplugging. There is nothing around the villa and it is a bit of effort to get anywhere. No cell service and no Wi-Fi (though they are working on getting it reconnected). We cooked all our meals with one or two exceptions when the property care takers purchased and cooked fresh fish for us, which was incredible. Would highly recommend if you are looking for an off the grid paradise.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Right from the start, Herwig was prompt with his replies , excellent communication and gave us a lot of information about his place and activities surrounding the Villa ! Without even seeing it yet, we were excited ! Herwig and Theresa were most amazing hosts and we were spoiled with Theresa’s home cooked meals leaving us with full and happy bellies! Further, they were most caring and helped a couple in our group who had a bout of heatstroke . We were very impressed by our overall stay and would highly recommend it! Excellent place to find serenity from the hustle and bustle of the cities in Philippines! We can’t thank them enough !! We will be back!

Stayed Nov 4, 2019From initial reservation to check-out the entire experience was truly amazing! Owners Sir Herwig and Madam Theresa are outstandingly kind, helpful, friendly, and hospitable hosts. The photos and property description in the listing are completely accurate. It is a private, very restful setting away from the popular tourist destinations on Palawan. The 1-hour trip from the Puerto Princessa airport to the villa is a drive through the heart of unspoiled native rain forest. A brief stop along the way to take a photo at Salakot Falls is well worth the short and easy walk from the car. The water source for the entire villa property is an underground spring and is clean and safe for drinking- no bottled water required for this villa. The ocean and sunset views are stunning. The property, grounds, gardens, rooms, and beach are very well maintained and clean. The beds are very comfortable and mosquito nets are provided upon request. The long, sandy private beach is beautiful and is all yours to enjoy. There are functional, clean restrooms at the beach as well as hammocks in the nearby trees, and covered cabanas with benches and tables. The eastern view of the rain forest mountains from the beach is breathtaking, and the sunset views over the West Philippine Sea are stunning. Don’t deprive yourself of the amazingly masarap! food plan during your stay- the wonderful variety of local dishes prepared by Madam Theresa with fresh produce and herbs from the garden delighted and surprised us at every meal. Sir Herwig offers a variety of delicious coffees in the morning, and may even let you grind the beans by hand in his antique coffee mill. All food is prepared over a wood fire and the aromas while cooking fill the villa and build anticipation for what will be served-enjoying these authentically creative dishes was the perfect compliment to the abundant plant and animal creation surrounding us during our stay. If you’re looking to get away from the tourist crowds of Palawan island, enjoy rest and relaxation in stunning natural surroundings, enjoy a completely private beach, and experience true Philippine hospitality and Madam Theresa’s savory food dishes, this is the rental for you!

Stayed Dec 16, 2017My girlfriend and I chose to stay at the Amazing Villa as we did not want to put up with the crowds and tourism at some of the more well known places on Palawan. We were hoping that Herwig's place would still offer some luxuries while being more secluded and remote. It is safe to say that our our expectations were exceeded on every front and that the Amazing Villa is a true paradise. When they say they have their own private beach they aren't kidding. Its literally a beach that is solely for their guests with the kicker being that it has to be the only beach on Palawan that has a private bathroom with a bidet! The beach is cleaned every day via water buffalo ensuring that you have a pristine experience. The weather was poor when we were there but on sunny days they have their own coral reef just off the beach that you could spend days exploring. Aside from the beach our room was truly spectacular with a terrace overlooking the jungle and the ocean. The huge room and private bath meant that we had a difficult time doing anything other than reading and enjoying the space as it was hard to think about even doing anything else. Teresa was not available to cook during our stay but the Amos and Toto were admirable stand-ins and we were treated to delicious meals straight from the garden everyday. Do yourself a favor and let the staff cook for you instead of going through the hassle of bringing your own food as it is a a great experience to eat right from the land everyday. The fresh eggs cooked over an open flame were some of the best I have ever tasted and were so good we specifically requested them on our final morning. Herwig was wonderful to sit and chat with over an evening cocktail and its safe to say that his mixology skills are wasted in the Jungle. Each night we were able to have specialty drinks that are the rival of anything you could get in all the islands. Overall the Amazing Villa truly lives up to its name. It you want a jungle adventure while still retaining the amenities that make a vacation feel special I can't recommend this place enough. The amazing Villa is best for travelers with an adventurous spirit who are ok with not having a turn down service every day and who want a more genuine feel of what Palawan is like away from easy access to bars and nightlife Bring a good book and an empty belly and I promise you won't be disappointed!!
