Moon River Retreat - Panoramic water views

This is the second time we stayed at Moon River Retreat. The hosts, Mon and Matt, are lovely and the location is really nice. Everything is well set up and there’s a great collection of books about Tasmania to flick through. We highly recommend it.

This property has all the comforts of home.A well equiped kitchen, top quality beds in the bedrooms and ample comfortable seating in the lounge. The outdoor deck has a bbq, table, chairs and potted fesh herbs to use.The living space has a fireplace for colder nights. The house looks out over the river towards the hills, absolutely stunning. Mon and Matt are gratious hosts, friendly and approachable. We had the most relaxing time. As a bonus we were spoiled with a generous welcome basket filled with Tasmanian products, 2 cheeses, biscuits, fresh strawberries, bottle of cider. I can highly recommend this property.

Exceptionally well appointed accommodation with everything you could possibly need, immaculately clean and beautifully presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay exploring the lovely Huon Valley - great local wineries, Fat Pig Farm Long Lunch, friendly cafes, pubs and restaurants as well as the nearby Tahune Airwalk. We loved returning to the peace, tranquility and stunning views our accommodation offered after each day of touring. Thank you Mon & Matt for being such wonderful hosts.

Beautiful design, tasteful and comfortable furniture and floor plan layout, views to die for. Chauffeur service to and from Fat Pig Farm was an added bonus. Could not fault the experience if we were really trying. Just perfect!

Myself and a friend stayed at Moon River for 2 nights and it was a lovely break. Mon was very welcoming and even drove us to and from our lunch at the Fat Pig Farm so we could fully enjoy the day. The cottage contains everything you could need and is truly beautiful.

Wow was our response when we walked into our accommodation.... modern spacious and very homely ... Mon was the perfect host and super helpful. Best part was walking out onto the deck and seeing the amazing view. A perfect spot to relax and unwind. We both lead busy lives and to find this hidden gem just topped off the break we needed. We will be back!

Thank you Mon for making our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. All facilities within the house were great - everything you could think of. A great base to be in, to explore surrounding area. Views every evening on the balcony with a bottle of Tasmania cider were great. Definitely recommend and would stay again.

We had a fantastic stay at Moon River in January - it was a very comfortable home away from home for us. As a host Mon was very accommodating and communication was easy. Spectacular views and a comfortable, well-kitted house. Thoroughly recommend.
