Maros Spitaki

We have been coming here for many years. This is our 6th, possibly 7th, visit. That says it all really. The first two visits were before Iannis put the pool in. It's great to see him and his animals. I had to relocate a hen this time! The property has been updated since we last came and the bathroom is much better now. Good to see the new floor tiles on the roof area too. Some kitchen scissors would be greatly appreciated. A better corkscrew and non-stick frying pans would be good too.

Our second visit (longer this time... 9 nights) was just as peaceful and relaxing as our first visit, and gave us a wonderful feeling of coming home. Maros Spitaki is well-situated to explore the greater Chania area, with many great restaurants only a short drive away, both in the city, as well as the surrounding area. For those travelers who appreciate a connection to nature, solitude and privacy, this is a fabulous choice. The resident (and visiting) animals are a bonus for us, as we love all creatures great-and small, while the beautiful flowers and fruit trees add to the beauty of the property. The bed and bedding are comfortable, and the air conditioning works well. The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped, with everything needed to self-cater. We are already planning 3rd visit to this little slice of heaven!

Loved the location, peaceful, great surroundings a real chance to fully switch off

This is a place for nature lovers and for those looking for a high level of quiet and seclusion. The beautiful roses and bougainvillea, the orchards of fruit trees, the rooftop sunrise and sunset views, the amazing pool, the chickens and visiting cats all added to our sense of delight and contentment at Maros Spitaki. We spent our days playing backgammon at a shady table, or floating in the pool, or conversing with the chickens. The kitchen is well equipped, the house is clean and comfortable, the gardens are obviously tended with love. This property is perfect for a couple who wants to connect and recharge, and escape from the hectic outside world. We only stayed 5 nights, but are already planning a longer return trip. There is plenty to do within a short drive (we loved the botanical garden, especially), although in truth, every time we left, we couldn't wait to return to our little oasis. A little gem. We would have liked to have stayed for much longer. Peaceful and quite and away from the beach hustle. Car essential, which made it all the better.

Beautiful, spotlessly clean place. A wonderful outside area that we used a lot: seating areas, barbeque, pagoda and swimming pool. Set in lovely gardens. Propery agent very responsive.

We had such a magical time at this property. The check in was easy and the property was what was advertised. We had a tiny problem while we were there and they were super responsive to the issue and had it resolved immediately. The pool and privacy were so amazing for us. It really is the selling point. I would book this space again without hesitation.

This small house just 10 minutes from Chania (very beautiful but very noisy town) is quietly located in the middle of a garden. Cleaning every 3-4 days included, friendly and very discreet owners. Fresh fruits from the trees and a gorgeous pool. Too bad there is only one room, I would have liked to come back with my children. At first you think you're lost in the middle of nowhere and then you realize it's paradise.

Secluded, surrounded by citrus groves and there is a lovely pool which we had all to ourselves during our 2 week stay. It is an ideal location for exploring the whole Chania region- all the roads are in outstanding condition and the drives through the mountains were spectacular. We were very close to the Botanic Gardens which we visited 4 times as they have a great restaurant. It would be really useful to have a fan in the sitting room as there is no air conditioning there. It would also be very useful to be able to close the bedroom door which seems too big for the frame
