Stayed Jan 15, 2026I want to rate our stay a 3 but wish to be considerate of the hosts since the biggest issue was not their fault. The positive: the house is spacious, with a wonderful view of the ocean. Basic amenities are provided. The location is close to a number of interesting sites (note: it is a distance away from the Southwest coast, and the drive usually includes traffic). The authentic and less congested neighborhood is a plus in our book. There are also a number of great restaurants within a ten minute drive of the house, with one such restaurant being a few minute walk down the street.Mr Babb, the caretaker, is charming and accommodating and welcomed us warmly. The negative: the biggest issue was the tap water, which was brown, and smelled of petroleum and sewer some days. This is due to ongoing multi-year water issues in the parish. We saw water pipes being replaced by the BWA, so, hopefully, this issue will be remedied in the near future. While the water quality is not the hosts’ fault, we would have appreciated a warning at the time of booking since bathing in brown and sometimes smelly water and washing dishes with bottled water is not conducive to a relaxing vacation. The hosts did provide a case of bottled water for us.The house needs a deep cleaning. Main surfaces were clean but the kitchen had a sticky layer of grime. The hosts are attentive, remedying issues promptly. It is clear they care and want their guests to have a positive experience.

Stayed Dec 24, 2025The host and villa caretaker were very attentive. We arrived late on Christmas Eve and needed to eat. We had no transportation but tge caretaker made sure we had food before he left. The host called to check on us a couple of times during our stay. The view was incredible.

Stayed Apr 10, 2025What a gem of a place! Beautiful villa right on the water with direct access to the ocean! Communication with the owner was excellent before and during our trip. Caretaker we met on arrival and departure was very friendly and helpful. LOVED sitting out on the balcony with ocean views and taking morning/afternoon swims/snorkeling. Full kitchen to cook or heat up leftovers. In a quiet part of Barbados just north of Speightstown so recommend a car to explore (busses might be an option but we rented a car). Highly recommend!

Stayed Jan 30, 2025We, couple w two kids (4 yr & 8yr old) had a great stay.Appartment is well equipped and maintained, making it a perfect home base for exploring the island's less crowded northern part and some west coast beaches.Landlord and caretaker both super friendly and helpful.Small minus point is the road at the back of the house so that you might hear some traffic (depending on the hour of the day). The house has direct access to the water but due to the waves / danger of currents it is not the ideal swimming spot

Stayed Jan 12, 2025The property was as described and had everything needed for a great relaxing holiday. The balcony views were stunning and this was the best part of the trip for us watching the sunset in the evening. Hugh was there to help with anything we needed to know and Lenny who provided our car was also very helpful when we arrived on the island. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. We would have no hesitation recommending this property for rent.

Stayed Apr 6, 2024We (family with 7yo) had a wonderful time at this property! Gorgeous view, had everything we needed, away from the bustle but near some great spots like Fish Pot, Orange Street Grocer, and Caboose. Linda (owner) and Hugh (caretaker) were friendly and responsive. (Just a note that there is street noise because it’s right on the road, but that didn’t bother us.) A wonderful spot!

Stayed Mar 31, 2024We had a wonderful stay at the property in Half Moon Fort. The neighborhood is very Bajan, with a small(!) store nearby. There is also a local fish market very close, and the fish we bought there was awesome (and cheap). You do want to have a car in order to visit some of the Barbados sites. Nearby Speightstown has a row of bars celebrating the sunset every night. The very near FishPot is good for a splurge - it is pricey. The best part? The access to the water and sounds of the waves. We snorkeled daily (in the rain/sun) and the areas just south of the property were as good as what we experienced elsewhere in the island. The water is very clear, and the view from the balcony is superb. Bring binoculars!
