We have added a Cottage on the Villa PassiFlora property, surrounded by forest, fruit trees and tropical plants, with a lovely view of the Atlantic Ocean. Privacy has been maintained between the villa and the cottage, which have completely separate entrances. Exceedingly spacious, the cottage is self-catered, and it has a complete kitchen. The bedroom is designed for a couple or individual, and a third person can use a daybed in the living room. There are front and rear verandahs, and guests are welcome to any fruits growing on the grounds of the cottage. There is even a washing machine in the cottage. The cottage is rented separately. Please contact us directly if you are interested.
Stunning views from fabulous property. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Sherlon as on site manager was second to none. From a practical standpoint could do with more mirrors and better lighting in the bedrooms. Also the cupboards and wardrobes could do with a regular airing. These observations may seem a little churlish as we’ve absolutely loved our stay at Passiflora.
Pictures will never justify this place and island. It was like nowhere I’ve ever been. After exploring every day, coming back to the house for a beautiful swim as the sun set and moon rose, listening to music from the provided house Bluetooth speakers was just perfect. The night sounds of many types of frogs were beautiful too. Waking in the morning to cool breezes and many songs from birds was unimaginable. The walk to the coast (you must wear sturdy hiking sandals such as Tevas) you walk through many trees with humming birds. The house has everything you need. Private areas to enjoy by yourself and areas for family enjoyment. The openness to the rooms are so freeing. We opened every shutter door every time we came home. The caretakers, Markeisha and Sherlon, we’re very approachable and kind. Both of them were happy to give suggestions for food, and exploring. Markeisha is a great cook too. She made us breakfast and a dinner. We are so happy we chose this house and island for our first family vacation since Covid.
Our family of 5 from Toronto stayed at Villa Passiflora for a week over the Christmas holidays and we can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. The home and grounds are very well taken care of and the accommodations were exceptional. The owners have gone through a lot of effort to make the villa very comfortable and encourage people to fully enjoy the island. We especially enjoyed the hammocks and the beautiful ocean view. Dominica is a beautiful island that beckons to be explored and Calibishie is a great home base to reach deserted cove beaches and access to good restaurants.
My family ( 4) just spent a lovely week at Pasi Flores. The house is spectacular as are the views. It is very comfortable, and has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. Of special note are the people that work at the house. Iseline the housekeeper is wonderful, and be sure and ask her to cook a meal for you. Sharlone the groundskeeper and all around helper is also great. And, not be forgotten is Nigel who the owner recommends as a guide. Nigel made our trip and was indispensable as we tried several hikes and tours.
We had an amazing time during our stay in Calibishie. The staff at the house was ver accommodating and very pleasant. The home itself is outstanding and the effect get-away. I will note that the island is still under a period of recovery from the the hurricanes. It takes some patience, resourcefulness and understanding of the local amenities but it should not hinder a great time. The people of the island are very welcoming and hospital - they are glad to have visitors and it shows. We will definitely be returning to Dominica and Passi Flora.
First the villa- how often do you get a chance to stay at the most beautiful villa on an island? PassiFlora offers exactly that. This villa has a wonderful layout and design which allows you to enjoy outdoor living at its best. We stayed in the master bedroom which had a very comfortable king size mattress and a million dollar view . The kitchen is well stocked with essentials for cooking or mixing your favorite island beverage. The pool and pool view speaks for itself. The staff- ALL the staff at the villa are great! Isaline (the housekeeper) always has a wonderful smile and and full of energy. The island -the people of Dominica are very friendly and helpful. The island has gained back much of its greenery and colorful tropical plants after Maria. There is 2 very well stocked and reasonably priced grocery stores in the village close by (3 min by car 15-20 min by foot). The negative- We had to leave Villa Owners- Thanks to Bruce and Ann for making our Dominica Dream come true. Thank you both! Graham & Cindy
Villa Passiflora is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in. well thought out, wonderfully furnished and wanting for nothing we would love to return. The house in in a stunning location on the beautiful north coat of Dominica. The owners have thought of everything you might need and are helpful and on hand for any information you need before your trip. The on site staff are efficient and friendly, helping with anything whilst you are there. It really is a special place. Thank you both so much
Our group of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our week and were sorry to leave. First of all, the architecture and the wood are stunning. The interior decoration is very pleasing, with lots of details we kept noticing. Everything was very comfortable: beds, towels, sheets, lounge chairs. Bathrooms were great. The kitchen was so well-stocked. And now the best part: the view! Whenever I came out on 1 of the verandas, the view of the ocean, waves crashing on rocks, lights blinking on Guadaloupe, distant mountains...it took my breath away! We were all pinching ourselves, feeling as if we were dreaming of paradise. And the roar of the waves and the chirping tree frogs would lull us to sleep at night. The housekeeper and caretakers were all very welcoming and eager to help us in any way. They are unusually sweet people. We enjoyed 1 of Isalene’s scrumptious dinners. During our stay we did a variety of activities, from hiking to swimming and loved the unspoiled island and the friendly people. We hope to come back some time.
Beautiful home The house is very intelligently designed with amazing views yet very limited direct sun . Very complete kitchen. The housekeeper Iso is a joy and makes the stay very easy and fun There are 2 guard dogs to announce any visitors and give some security. t
We rented Villa PassiFlora for the month of January, 2014. The owner, Bruce, was very responsive and easy to deal with in the confirmation process. We are two women well past retirement age, who escape the cold New England winters every year by renting somewhere each January, and then returning to a villa we have rented for over a decade in the British Virgin Islands. Let me begin with the location: the view of the Atlantic Ocean from the pool and decks IS spectacular. But since the house faces North, there was not one spot where you could sit in the sun (at least in January), which means the infinity pool stays cold. Even with a 4-wheel drive car, you will find the roads are in awful shape and rental cars have the steering column on the right (British style). The nearest village of Calibishie is quite limited in services and goods, and the locals did not seem particularly friendly. The Villa is described on the website as a luxury villa but it did not meet our experience and expectations with other luxury villas, some found on VRBO. The kitchen was not provisioned with a nice set of dishes (rather all but the cereal bowls and cups and saucers were plastic). There is no dishwasher, coffee maker, outside grill or toaster, and very limited glassware. Most troubling for us, since we are big readers, is the the fact that there were no comfortable reading chairs with lamps or other lighting. In fact the villa's lighting in general is sparse, mostly using wall sconces. The most serious issue for us was safety. We understand that petty thievery is a problem on many of the islands, but we had never experienced the degree of concern exhibited by these owners. There are two dogs, a Rottweiler and a Pit Bull, who guard the perimeter of the house 24/7. In addition, the owners request that you close, bolt and lock, all of the doors on both levels whenever you leave the premises AND at night. While all of these measures are intended to make guests feel safe, it had the opposite effect on us. In the end, the above issues were significant enough that we left after three days, despite having paid for the month. I am aware that our experience appears to be the exception, given other rave reviews--many of which influenced our decision to rent the Villa in the first place. My purpose in writing this review is in no way intended to dis this property or its owners, but rather to give future renters an additional perspective.
