Luxurious Private Villa with Private Pool and Sea Views- 6 min drive from beach

Absolutely wonderful holiday. The villa was superb with beautiful views. The owner Yiannis was extremely helpful! The local Greek people are so warm and friendly. Can thoroughly recommend the local Taverna Spiros, typical Greek food and live entertainment, fantastic. Would definitely return.

We had a little difficulty finding this Villa initially, but had been made contact by Yiannis and he helped us find it. What a lovely sweet friendly man he is !!! He then took time to show us around the facilities (and there are many ) before slipping off and letting us begin our holiday. The first impression you get upon arrival is one of awe. This place really is as amazing as the pictures depict if not even better ! The pool is really very clean as is the hot-tub. There is a multigym (one unit) on the bottom floor, and a television system with countless channels and films if you are patient enough to find them. You feel very at home (oh how I wish my home was anything like this place ! ) right from the start and the location is perfect. Your nearest neighbour is about half a mile away yet you are only about 4 miles from a wealth of beaches and amenities. The kids loved the pool, we couldn't get them out of there! It was a little deep for our 3 year old and she needed a rubber ring at all times which was a little unfortunate. Other than that the entire place was absolutely perfect! The rooms were all clean and Yiannis even arranged for a cleaner to come in mid stay to have an extra clean up. Not that it really needed it. You feel that the owner really does want you to have an amazing stay and oh how we did ! The seating areas are fantastic, and we loved the barbecue area at evenings. Be patient with the charcoal in Crete for some reason we can never get it going properly.... maybe it is because I'm a fireman and am only really good at putting fires out , who knows . Upon leaving the Villa Yiannis' father arrived to take keys. He turned up exactly at the time he said he was going to, and oh what a lovely sweet man he is too. What a credit to the people of Crete both men are. You can't help but feel that they are your friends. All in all, our stay was amazing and I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. You will not be disappointed with this one I can guarantee you !!

This is a true holiday home! The serenity of the location gives you peace, the facilities from pool to pool table ensure you always have something to do. The host Yiannis was not only very hospitable but totally supportive

Marietta Villa in Gouves, Crete is a truly fantasic holiday location for any family holiday. An amazing villa in a beautiful location overlooking the olive tree-covered hills with the sea in the background. You have the peace and quiet of being 10 minutes from the sea in a very secure, beautiful villa equipped with everything you might need and more! The villa was immaculately kept with a cleaner twice weekly. The swimming pool was fantastic. Yiannis and his father looked after our every need, were very welcoming and provided a hire car at very reasonable rates. We cannot recommend this villa more highly, our children loved it and we would all love to go again!

We stayed in villa Marietta July 2013, and it is absolutely stunning. It looks exactly like the pictures, the kids loved the pool. The BBQ area was great for evening meals. The villa was very clean inside and the views from the villa were amazing. It's a great location but a car is necessary. The owner Yiannis and his family were very helpful and polite. We loved every minute staying here and can't wait to visit again.
