This property was on a beach (rare in the Keys) and you could go for a long walk to the east. Our unit was spacious (we were four adults) and well equipped. Great outdoor screened in living space. The front desk was super helpful.

Clean, safe and private housing. We bought groceries and saved a bundle as eating out is expensive. Pool was very nice. Beaches in the keys are not known for being great so don’t expect the private beach to be pristine. It was filled with sea grass. The grass was moved daily with a tractor. Leaving piles of smelly grass. But don’t let the beach stop you. Great people and property.

Overall, our stay included several positive aspects, along with some areas that could benefit from improvement.The communication with the staff and the check-in process were both excellent. Everything went smoothly, and we truly appreciated that our request to be located next door to our friends was accommodated exactly as requested.That said, the unit itself did not fully meet our expectations. It appeared somewhat dated and could benefit from updates. We noticed a few loose floor tiles, and the carpet on the stairs showed signs of wear that may warrant replacement. Additionally, the downstairs area did not cool as effectively as expected, as the air conditioning struggled to maintain a comfortable temperature.We were also unable to use the beach during our stay due to sargassum buildup, releasing noxious gases, which we understand is beyond the property’s control. However, the pool area was less enjoyable than anticipated. There was ongoing noise from nearby equipment, smell, which made it difficult to relax, and the pool did not appear as clean as we would have hoped, with some visible discoloration around the edges.While we greatly appreciated the attentive service and efforts made by the staff, improvements to the condition of the unit and amenities would enhance the overall guest experience.

For the most part the property is fine. Though, more deep cleans are needed. Dirt has accumulated on the base boards and the air conditioning in our unit needs servicing and cleaning. Lots of dust.

The size of kitchen was small but the deck outside was huge! Overall great place to stay and very clean. Wish the seaweed on the beach was maintained more than once a day. But that can’t really be helped.

Bungalows are older and could use some updating. The unit was cleaned but shows signs of needing deep cleaning in the corners. They must use Fabuloso as their cleaners because the whole placed smelled of it. I personally am not a fan. The beds were HORRIBLE. We actually bought a mattress topper on day 3 but it did not help. If you have back issues this is not the place for you. Linens were clean staff was polite and helpful. Office hours are limited to regular work hours so if you need something at night you will be on your own. The grounds are very well kept and tropical. The pool and hot tub very clean and well maintained. The beach is very pretty and kept natural. We had a lot of seaweed, as it was windy and the seas were rough. They do rake the beach regularly but as I said it is a natural beach. Our overall stay was very nice and the family had a great time. If you want luxury this is not the place. If you want quiet family time centrally located for a good price and decent amenities you won’t be disappointed. If they invested in new mattress I may go back. I would call ahead.

This is a ‘mom and pop’ operation, and they do excellent work! If you have a family and are looking for a reasonable, family friendly place, this is it!. Everything was clean, everyone was friendly, and they had things you could borrow while you’re there—free of charge!

The home had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We loved being on the beach and having a beach front pool. We would have enjoyed our stay much more if the weather had cooperated. I believe we had record lows during our stay. Would definitely recommend this location.

Great location in central Keys; on the beach close to restaurants and activities. Close enough for a daytrip to Key West.My kids loved the pool and the unit came with two tennis rackets, which was a surprise.The screened in porch was great for eating meals and playing games in the evening.The units are not handicap accessible in any way, requiring ascending a spiral staircase but that was not a problem for us.

Very clean, nice area. Unique villa. Nice pool and beach area. Quiet resort, family friendly. Parking available close to Villa. Too many steps though and would have been better to have a bathroom on first floor near dining /kitchen area. We could see various improvements made.

Super clean! Room,pool,beach was so clean! We arrived after 5 and the late check in instructions were very clear and the process was easy. The bathrooms were outdated if that bothers you. Coffee pot,toaster and other appliances were very clean and looked brand new. The only complaint was the weird layout the kitchen is on the first floor and the habgout spot,bedrooms and bathrooms are on a different level so if u want a drink or snack u have to go down the weird spiral staircase. Also have to carry luggage up the same spiral stairs. Not terrible but it was not ideal for my almost 80 year old parents. Air conditioning was superb. Great location to stay somewhere not so party as key west but can easily drive down to key west and we did. Would definitely stay here again.

Upon arriving at the property, we were incredibly disappointed in the condition of the complex, condo unit, facilities, and beach. The unit and complex need a lot of maintenance. Everything in the condo is old and sparse. The carpet on the stairs is filthy. Honestly, it reminded us of a prison. It was depressing. The beach is nonexistent. What little there is left is covered in truck tracks and sargassum. There was no swimming or ocean access, despite the beautiful pics on the site. We immediately got a refund and made reservations elsewhere in Key Colony Beach.

Communication prior to arrival was ongoing via email then with a phone call, both very much appreciated. Instructions on check in was seamless and the office staff was friendly and our process was so quick! The unit was pristine - kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas inside and out were immaculate. Kitchen had everything we could need and then some. The pool is gorgeous, patio and lounge area - fantastic. Due to an out of the norm sargassum-seaweed issue, the beach area was not somewhere we spent time, but Mother Nature does what she wants, no blame to the property. We did spend HOURS at the pool and had a fabulous day, which is right at the beach’s edge. Parking was as expected and as explained there was an additional lot with tons of space for our 2nd vehicle. We did some night fishing off their boat dock near the parking lot too. We had a wonderful time - and as we drove the hours and hours home we were strategizing when we can come back. Thank you Coco Plum for a great family weekend before they head off to college.

Good value for the money, nice central location, nice pool, hot tub, and grounds. Beach was a mess with seaweed and trash, and villas are cramped with a tiny kitchen, and tiny bathrooms, both upstairs (none on main floor). The villa was clean, though.

The outside area was nowhere near what it was described. We could have been told that during our stay the beach would not look nothing like the pictures. That to me was very deceiving. Had I known, I would not have paid extra for a beach front. Besides the smell, the amount of seaweed there was so much trash. I believe the cleanup efforts could have been better to please the patrons. This was my family vacation, and I paid almost 3K to stay here and nothing about the view or beach was pleasant. I would have stayed elsewhere. The condo is old and outdated and has a stale smell to it. If they put in just a little bit of money to update them, they would be more pleasant. The hot tub was dirty. It was very hot upstairs and didnt cool down until the middle of the night. Very small and tight quarters. This is my honest review.

The area is pretty, the downsides are this, The villa smelled HORRIBLE! I mean like sewer I am unsure why it smelled that bad but it was not something that you could ignore. The beds in both rooms are so uncomfortable I contemplated going to another place. There was loud music playing outside and people having some sort of party get together. You could not swim in the beach because they had a tractor getting all of the seaweed that was all over the beach and In the water, obviously they can’t help that it’s Mother Nature but had I known I would of booked somewhere that I could swim at and enjoy rather than having to find another beach.

Was a wonderful stay and location. Quiet and pleasant. Screened porch was amazing for family dinners and relaxing. Pool was perfect, with an option for both sun and shade.

Place was great accept for the sargassum/sea weed all over the beach - they also did not clean it up Would have liked to be notified of this prior to are arrival. We are aware that its not the managements fault, as it is a natural occurence would have just liked a heads up.

The Property is centrally located in the keys between Key West and Islamorada and is convenient. Everything was clean and the beach was great to have.

Had a great time

This was my grandson’s first destination vacation and it made a lasting impression. He loved the beach and the pool. His Mom and Dad enjoyed it too.

Unit very poorly designed and not very user friendly. Lots of steps and no elevator, but no warning about that.

When we first chose this spot online we were interested by the photos, size, and the fact that we were on the water and in the middle of the Florida Keys. We wish we knew even more about this incredible space as when we arrived we were stunned by what all was there! For a couple, small family, or group of friends this place could not be any better located, organized, cleaned, or have what you need for a chill time away from it all.We stayed for 3 nights and regret not having more time to enjoy ourselves just on the property. Thanks to the people who make this place incredible, the hard work and dedication can really be felt in this paradise! We hope to come back and really recommend to others!

Everything was pretty amazing that was under control (Mother Nature and her seaweed). Only wish is that maybe closer to activities for kids or bikes be available. Rooms, parking, pool, hot tub, beach, and employees were all amazing.

Our stay at Coco Plum was enjoyable with plenty of time on the beach and by the pool. Although the premeses were not perfectly clean, having some neglected spots, and household supplies are limited to very basic equipment, the building is attractive and convenient to local activities. We visited the Aquarium, the Dolphin Research Center, and The Turtle Hospital, all wonderfully educational and fun. We decided we needed to point out the narrow, winding stairway to the second floor, the only access to bedrooms and bathrooms. Carrying lugguage up this stairway is more than challenging! And having no bathroom on the first floor is inconvenient. In addition, access to the residence requires mounting seventeen outdoor steps, clearly no handicapped accessible. Although this information may have been included in the advertising, it was not obviously so. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and thoroughly lovely deck were great. The buildings are close together, and decks abut each other closely enough to make handicap privacy, but do not constitute a huge deficiency, in my opinion. Despite the shortcomings, I would stay in this residence again for the sake of the beach and the pool with its comfy poolside chairs.

The property is older, but well kept. There are a lot of stairs but that was not an issue for our group. The interior furniture and appliances are older, could be higher end. Our overall stay was good, above average. Great area with plenty to do. We had no issues on the property and based on the daily activity of staff, things were in good order for a reason.

We had a great and relaxing time. The room we stayed at home was very spacious. However, we faced the minor inconvenience of the TVs not functioning properly. The TVs appeared to have been able to support apps such as Netflix and YouTube, but they were not accessible. Besides that, the room itself alongside its own pool and private beach was delightful.

We arrived very late at night but the check in was handled easily in advance. Our unit was very clean and well stocked. The beach, pool and hot tub were all great and very close. Parking was easy and right at our front door. Overall a great experience!

This was the perfect place to stay!Right on a private beach, the grounds were well maintained and beautiful.It was great to have the whole villa to ourselves rather than being in one of those skyrise condos.I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay at in Marathon!

We’re a family of 4 with 2 teenagers- the place was clean though dated and had enough room for everyone to spread out. The property is wonderfully maintained, quiet and has amazing views Would recommend!

Family if 4 with 2 teens. Stayed for four nights and everything was great. Water was a bit chilly but as expected in early March. The Fish Grille is right acroos the highway and ate there 4 times. Great bunch everyday.

Delightful 18 Days. The amenities are excellent, well maintained, continually manicured and cleaned. The beach was raked daily to ensure everyone throughly enjoyed their time. Pool, tennis courts, grounds and hot tub are wonderfully attended, providing for a quiet and relaxing environment. The on-site management staff were attentive, helpful and always available. Our facility was as described and outstanding. Overall our expectations were exceeded and we throughly enjoyed our time, highly recommended. . . .

This place was clean and had all the amenities we needed for a comfy stay. The kitchen was stocked with nice cookware, new appliances and everything we needed to cook a few meals in between trying all the great restaurants the area has to offer. The beds were clean and comfortable. The new washer and dryer were an added bonus!We loved the private beach and the pool and hot tub were nice. The staff were all great! We loved this whole experience, it’s just what we needed for a few peaceful, relaxing beach days. We will definitely be back!

We just loved staying here. Quaint beach, pool and hot tub. Property is well maintained. Close enough to go to Key West for the day! Lots of fun going out on Capt Pips snorkeling cruise. Close to good restaurants, grocery stores etc. would stay here again

This was our first stay at KA Beach as well as staying on Marathon Key. The free standing units were unique, and the wraparound , screened in porch had a view of the water.We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the unit, ground, pool, and jacuzzi.The unit could use a bit of updating, but the kitchen was well appointed for those who love to cook.I would, however, caution those who have mobility limitations or have toddlers that there are 17 steps to get to the main level with access to kitchen, eating area, porch, and a metal circular staircase to get to the second level with the living room, bedrooms, and bathrooms. There was a nice variation of ages, but everyone we met was kind and helpful with sharing information concerning Marathon. We really enjoyed our stay!

The pool and beach were great, but the pool was advertised as heated, it was a not warm, bit chilly. If you have a person with health issues or balance issues there are a lot of steps to the villa and bedrooms. Overall the property is very nice and quiet.

We arrived after hours, the sign in process was easy. They had coffee packs to start off our first morning, which was great. The accomodations were as described. The AC worked well as it was warm during our stay. Very pleased with our stay. Nice Pool and hot tub. The beach can be walked. The only down side is our oven did not work and no one said that it had to be fixed and the dryer did not dry completely. I did bring these to their attention.

The only real negative we saw in reviews was that the property owners were strict about the noise. My wife and I are both in our 60s and that was exactly what we wanted. The property was very well maintained. The pool and hot tub were both clean and clear. Visiting the Keys was an item on our bucket list, so i doubt if we will ever be back. But if we do come back, we will certainly check on the availability at Cocoplum.

The location couldn’t be beat. A wonderful plush surrounding set the tone for a beautiful vacation with friends. The whirlpool spa was amazing and the oceanside pool relaxing. Our sandy beach made for a good spot to view the night sky or a place to relax during the day. Our villa was immaculate and we had everything we needed to start our vacation. The beds were comfy with wonderful linens. The local restaurants offered delicious first class dining. We recommend the sunset cruise on the Marathon Mermaid. We look forward to returning.

This is overall a safe and quiet property, good value, but just don’t expect 5 star amenities. There is a nice beach and a well maintained pool. The best feature is the very large screened in patio. Marathon is a central location in the Keys and we found that an advantage for day trips to Key West and Islamorada. The beds were older and not extremely comfortable. The kitchen is small and quite basic. We could have used more towels in the unit. I felt the units could use some updating and decor and might then reach 5 star status.

I was traveling with a family of six and we booked a bit last minute for the Florida Keys during New Years week. There weren’t a lot of properties left, but this one was (now I think on a fluke!). The photos online looked a little bit outdated, and I wasn’t sure if the unique layouts inside the units would give enough space for six. I’m happy to report. It was very spacious and we felt like we had even more room than we needed. Our unit was updated significantly versus the picture shown. Everything was sparkling, clean on the entire property, including the pool, the beach, and the hot tub. You couldn’t ask for a better location. It is hard to find a nice beach in the keys, and this one was right at our doorstep. The multimillion dollar mansions on both sides are a testament to the great location. Inside the condo was well appointed with kitchen supplies, bedding, and was thoroughly cleaned before we arrived. quietrespectful.

It was perfect. Not a restaurant/bar onsite which helped our pockets and personal beach. We loved it and the boys want to go back for Spring Break!

We enjoyed our stay at our villa.They appear that they have been recently remodeled.Our unit was very clean with everything in the villa working well.The beach was nice and quiet with plenty of chairs.The beach was raked of seaweed every day,so that made it nice.This will definitely be on our places to stay in the future.

Great communication with property manager,with a beautiful pool and beach. Well stocked kitchen with adequate utensils and plates for 4 people. Nice deck area for lounging outside the villa. Only negative is a new build on the property next door and a remodel on 1 of the villas by the pool which was very loud.

The experience at Coco Plum Resort was exactly what i had hoped for...quiet, swimmable beach, shoreline to walk, easy drive to restaurants and attractions.

We named it the “Yondo,” a perfect blend of condo and yurt charm. This property is truly a hidden gem! The space was spacious, inviting, and incredibly relaxing. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. Every detail in the Yondo felt thoughtfully designed, creating an ideal balance between cozy and modern. We especially loved the private beach and the pool the set perfectly on the beach! Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat or a unique getaway experience, the Yondo is an absolute must-visit. We can’t wait to return!

We really enjoyed our stay and would return! The property is lovely and perfect to use the beach, pool, and hot tub. Condos are dated but have everything you need. There were a couple of minor issues - one toilet did not refill on its own and one of the sinks leaked terribly and needed repair. However, the entire place was spotless, so it was nice to know there was such attention to cleanliness. We used the kitchen to cook breakfast and sat out on the screened in deck mornings and evenings. I would not recommend this property to anyone who has trouble with stairs - there are a lot of them! The location was great and it was easy to get around Marathon. It was easy to check in and staff was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Everything you need here for a vacation trip. Clean and stocked with necessities like coffee and ice etc. dishwasher with soap and laundry with soap was nice for our scuba attire. Close to lots of good restaurants and gas stations for needed stuff. Staff was nice. It was pretty strict in the description so wasn’t sure but they were great.

The property is a little dated but what a spectacular location. The property has a nice beach front, great boat dock across the street and easy access to many of the wonderful restaurants in Marathon. Very quiet area so if you’re looking to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet this is the place.

Wonderful stay. All around pleasant. Pool was awesome. Property landscape was well maintained and had variety of plants. Private beach was nice.
