Holliday Villa - Casa do Sobreiro

We had a wonderful recent stay at Casa do Sobreiro. The pictures are a great representation but nothing like being there in person. We had 5 adults in our party and had lots of space. The kitchen is very large and was well stock with everything you need. All the bathrooms are spacious and nice. The host are wonderful. They were very responsive and knowledgeable with all our questions and any request. We will love to come back again.

This is a very spacious property with a pool overlooking The Douro River. The kitchen is well equipped and Luís, the host, and family were helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Thoroughly recommended!

Beautiful view and house. Very spacious. Some small issues which have been passed on to owner. Louis and brother very receptive and informative.

We had a lovely stay in this huge house . Stunning views and in a good position for the village and a few restaurants. Well kitted out huge kitchen . The family were very nice and saw us into the house and were quick to reply to any requests for help . However the garden furniture needs updating as mentioned in previous reviews as do some of the beds . Two of the doubles were uncomfortably hard.

We felt very lucky to have found your lovely farmhouse. The old olive press was very interesting. The house was huge, comfortable, the hosts were very welcoming and the location was perfect for us. It was close enough to Porto, Pinhao, Guimarães, and on a beautiful bend of the Douro River. Thank you so much!

Had a lovey stay in this beautiful villa which had so much space and the most amazing views over the river. Pictures on site do not do home justice. Able to drive into Porto easily and was also advised that a bus runs hourly from bottom of road to Porto. Came back feeling refreshed and relaxed. Thanks for 'sharing' this home Luis!

As others have said, the photographs do not do this wonderful property justice. This is a very large house on large very private grounds. The views from the pool area and the house over the river Douro are spectacular and really do take your breath away. Luis is a fantastic host, who was there to meet us on check in with his lovely family. He gave us a tour of the house and explained everything. We had an issue with air con while there which was quickly dealt with and communication throughout our stay was very good, always on hand to answer questions and help with local information. The house itself is very well equipped and spacious. We had a fantastic time and would love to return sometime.

Luis was very helpful meeting us at the villa and giving us some local tips. Stunning view - we never tired of looking over the river. Property is much more spacious than it appears in the photos & very comfortable. A minor point but the outdoor furniture could do with a refresh, The house was clean and well cared for. It was great to have such a well equipped large kitchen with 2 ovens, would be perfect for a large group, Kids loved the pool so we spent most of the time at the villa & really enjoyed the outdoor space & drinks on the upper balcony. It’s not a particularly touristy area but we liked that, plus we had combined with a few days in nearby Porto first so were ready to relax. We did go to a local restaurant a couple of times and hired a big paddleboard at the river beach, Luis recommended a vineyard to us but we didn’t manage to visit, although we tried the wine which was lovely! Overall a great stay for a very reasonable price.

The house is in the most stunning location - better than the photos! It’s extremely spacious and pretty well equipped. It’s not the most modern and there are a few elements that could be updated, but that’s reflected in the price that you pay. The owner was really helpful and communicative, and shared suggestions for the local area. Would recommend!
