Palm Trees is an imposing hillside villa/guest house set in its own grounds on the gated Anchor Estate on Jamaica’s South Coast. It is about 200 feet above sea level and 400 yards from the beach. The views are amazing and there is normally a relaxing breeze. All the rooms have high ‘cathedral ceilings’ and fans. The pool is very private as it is within the villa. Most guests have loved Palm Trees and many guests say they will return.

The rooms and pool are very good. Getting back down the steep and long drive during hours of darkness is difficult.

This home has the most spectacular view!!! Evening sunsets are second to none. We loved watching sunset and having Daisy make us breakfast. Some updating of amenities needed ( ac and shower). Hosts made sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed day trips to Negril and Black River.

I paid in full and booked this property a week before check-in for 3 of my employees who were working on a retreat nearby. When we arrived, the house was not ready, not clean, beds not made etc. The owners claimed that they never got a confirmation from VRBO, and didn’t know we were coming. The pool had no water in it, the house was filled with mosquitoes, and the home owners were apathetic about our issues. On one evening, my team arrived home for the night, and the homeowner was passed out, drunk, outside the entrance to our part of the property. As we needed rooms for the team I was not able to cancel the booking and relocate them. I spoke to the homeowners about a partial refund, and again, was met with apathy and blame on my part that I did not reach out to them. As I paid in full and received a confirmation, I do not feel that I should have had to reach out to the homeowners to let them know we were coming. I have again tried to speak to them about a partial refund, but was told over the phone to “piss off.” It’s a shame that I am unable to add photos to this review, but I am happy to provide them via email to anyone here looking for proof. Please do not book here unless you like empty pools, dirty rooms, drunk hosts, and the potential for dengue fever.

Lovely place with helpfull and kind hosts. Beautyfull view from the terasse - at daytime over the sea and at night on the back looking at the sky and stars!! Charming small towns near by.

We adored the property, and we really loved Bernard and Daisy! Truly lovely host and hostess. Be aware of very narrow, curvy roads to the property - it will take you over an hour from the Montego Bay airport, and that’s with no traffic. Also, make sure that you have the Skan’s telephone number so they can let you into the property; the VRBO site isn’t very clear on the check-in process, and Internet is very spotty. But now that we are armed with the process, we will definitely return.

We stayed there for one week in the beginning of January. We were a party of 5. The villa is exactly how represented on the pictures: no surprise there. BUT, a few factors made the stay a bit less enjoyable: there was no DVD player (as mentioned), the Internet connection was really limited to a certain area in the villa, which the bedrooms were not a part of and the most disappointing: there was no outdoor grill. We were relying on that feature to cook a few meals, but there wasn't one. The oven was also not working and the quality of the pans to disposition was pretty bad. We only had 2 ''mini-fridges'', which was not enough space for a big family for a week. The pool was not correctly maintained and we could see the dirt piling up at the bottom. Also, the water pressure was really weak, and it was pretty hard to get anything but cold water. Still, we enjoyed the view and the calm of the villa. Daisy cooked us a marvelous feast for a little supplement (50$US). Another point: the villa is on a hill, so the entrance is REALLY inclined. It damaged our car a bit, so be careful about that. If you're looking for a calm and nice property to spend a week in Jamaica, this place is great. But be aware that there are no big grocery stores at proximity and that it can be hard to cook for yourself there.

This residence has a spectacular view! The layout is just as the pictures indicate but it seemed even better when we arrived - very spacious with privacy for all. It is located not far from Treasure Beach and Bluefield Beach (local Jamaican Beach) and YS Falls. Grocery store in Black River provided all essentials. We stayed with 3 grown daughters and they loved the location too! The residence is VERY clean and the kitchen is will stocked if you want to cook a few meals at home. Daisy is an excellent cook so do take her up on her offer to shop and cook you at least one meal during your stay. Bernie was very helpful and gracious providing a lift into town and lots of advice. Air conditioners work well in each of the 3 bedrooms but ceiling fans were all we used after a few nights as the evening were nice and cool. I would without hesitation recommend this property. If we return to that area of Jamaica we would seek to stay at this villa in Whitehouse again! Thank you Bernard and Daisy! You are now part of our family memories. Be well! We were recommended to stay at Palm Trees by some friends of ours who had spent a month there last year. We were immediately impressed by Daisy and Bernard the villa owners who made us feel most welcome. We arrived at 6pm and did not feel like going out to buy food to cook. So Daisy cooked us an amazing meal of fish, rice and peas and salad. The master bedroom was huge and because all the rooms in the villa had cathedral ceilings we found we did not need to use the air con as the ceiling fans we all we needed. The massive patio area, only accessible from within the villa Contained the full sized swimming pool, the waters of which were crystal clear. The view from the villa over the Caribbean sea was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. The only downside to the villa was that we had to leave and return to London but we will return.

Nestled in the hills overlooking the ocean, Palm Trees villa is a beautiful respite. It has lovely gardens and is very open and spacious. If you are tired of crowded resorts and beaches overrun with people, this is the place for you. The villa itself is clean, space and very well maintained. We stayed at the villa with some good friends and had a wonderful stay. In the morning we were greeted by birdsong and fresh sea air. After a day exploring the islands treasures - YS Falls, Negril, treasure beach - it was the icing on the cake to come back and watch the sunset over the Caribbean Sea from the villa balcony or take a dip in the pool. The villa is close to a couple of local beaches which, other than locals who are friendly and do their own thing enjoying the sea, its basically like you having the beach to yourself. Bernard and Daisy were the most gracious and welcoming hosts. When we arrived the kitchen was stocked with basics like water, butter, etc. and Daisy cooked us a lovely dinner and offered to cook during our stay. They also had great recommendations and even rang ahead to ask the owners of a local bar/ restaurant - blue water - to take care of us and they did! We will definitely be going back for our next holiday and bring more family and friends! Bernard and Daisy, thanks so much for a great time! Warmly, Nick, Delicia, Meghan, Taji and Melvin.
