Excellent Villa, Sea Views, Quiet Area, Beach, Ocean Pool, Surf Lessons

Paulo is a great person and was very helpful , giving us all the information about things to do in the area. The location is just perfect. A vibrant village, with character and the house is located in a quiet part of it, close to the beach. The house is super comfortable and beautiful, fully equipped kitchen, rooms and social area spacious and very well decorated. I can't think of a better place to stay

We were in Ericiera for a family wedding and we really couldn't have found a better house to stay in. We had 6 adults and 2 children and it still could have taken another 4 people easily. Paulo was a fantastic host who was there when we arrived early. He had a lovely welcome presentation for us,, and he was such a gentleman to deal with. The house is just a few minutes walk from the nearest beach and about 10 minutes from Ericiera town centre. My family have all agreed that we will return because we had such a relaxing holiday in Paulo's house. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Villa Marquinhos for a family holiday rental. It was everything we needed and a great place to stay.

Lovely property well furnished with 3 balconies and 2 terraced. Great kitchen and cooking facilities. Could sleep 10 people. Only downside there is no sun loungers. Paulo gives great discounts for surfboards and wetsuits which we made regular use of.

Paulo was an incredible host, very friendly and helpful. He meet us at the house and gave us a run down on all important info on the house and the area. I was especially impressed with the welcome treats he had for us, a huge fruit bowl and lovely Easter breads and really tasty jam made by his mother, also chocolates and juice. As a mother with a small toddler I have always been disappointed with the cots made up for my child to sleep in but Paulo had a really sweet and comfortable cot prepared, it makes a huge difference to see a special effort made for them too!!. We had all we needed in the house and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Ericeira is amazing and the older boys availed of the surf alot while we and younger kids had great fun body boarding when the waves were not too crazy!!! The house was lovely, clean and comfortable and would consider going back if we wanted a surf holiday again.

The house have 4 stage, 5 rooms and grilling area. Parking is on the street. The balconies with view to the ocean is in one sleeping room and the living room. In each sleeping room is bathroom and toilet. All rooms and baths and kitchen are very comfortable, clean and nice. The kitchen also is for cooking that you want. All equipment is there - pans, pots, washing machines. Really we enjoid this place. On the village are different large shops, where is possible buy meat, fish etc. Some hundred metres far is the butchery, where can buy fresh meat - pork, veal, chicken and handmade sausages. Paulo, the owner, is also very nice and friendly. If you need quiet, comfortable and good place for normal price - I recommend this place!

Walk to Ericeira centre 15 to 20 mins but drive to most beaches,nice shops and restaurants in Ericeira. Villa very well equipped and thoughtful and welcoming host. Suprised at how hilly Ericeira was.

Our stay at Paulo’s villa was awesome!! Isabell (Paulo’s Mom) prepared several traditional Portuguese meals for us that made us feel we’d been part of Portuguese culture and family life. What a great representation of the area. Would love to stay there again. No complaints at all. Wonderful experience and memories.

We rented this property for 5 nights for a family trip to Portugal, there were 6 of us including grandparents and our kids (10 and 13 years old). The house was wonderful. It was spacious, immaculately clean and had every immenity we needed. It looked exactly like pictures on the website. We rented this house because it was very close to many great beaches (closest is a 10 minute walk to Praia do Sul) and great for doing day trips to the surrounding areas like Sintra to the south and Peniche, Nazaré and Obidos to the north. Having the kids with us it was important to be able to balance days of experiencing culture with beach days. The house is located in a typical neighbourhood and within a 5 minute walk is a butcher, a mini Mercado and a bakery where they make “the best bread” according to many locals we met in Lisbon, it was amazing. It is a 15 minute walk into the charming surf town of Ericeira which had great cafes and bars. There was also a large Continente grocery store in the town for easily stocking all of our groceries and wine. Lots of surfing and surf schools in the area as there are great waves for surfing everywhere. For swimming Praia do Sul does have an oceanic pool at low tide but it was to shallow for our kids but great for toddlers. Our kids really enjoyed Praia do Pescadores right in Ericeira where they have constructed a small sea wall to allow for small fishing boats to get in and out of the water which means no waves!!! We spent a great day at the beach and it was only a few minutes drive from the house. Paulo is such a great host!! He was there to meet us when we arrived, easily accessible throughout our stay to help out and ensure we had everything we needed. There was a great fruit tray and welcome basket with a jar of his mother’s pumpkin jam and other local items such as wine, sardines and chorizo. You can see he takes a lot of time and pride in making sure your stay is wonderful. We enjoyed many home cooked meals and sunset wine and cocktails overlooking the ocean from the balcony. Outside of the cultural areas some beaches to explore are Praia do Pescadores, Ribeira de Ilhas and Foz do Lizandro. Restaurants: Jancada, just at the bottom of the hill is great for a sunset cocktail if you don’t want to make your own. Pizza Mobile was also great for a sunset dinner. With such a great house in an ideal location it makes it easy to explore the area. Thank you Paulo.

This property, located on the central coast of Portugal, has EVERYTHING to offer - great location, absolutely BEAUTIFUL, spacious, well- equipped and appointed villa. Paulo, the owner, greeted us personally and had a welcome basket of wine, fruit, cheeses, sausages, etc. that supplied breakfast for 6 for several days. His villa easily and quickly became our 'home away from home'. There are 2 parking spots available, and grilling options as well as a fully equipped kitchen. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which was convenient for a group of 6. The location allows for travel all around the country with a minimum of about 3 hours to both ends from Ericeira. Couldn't be more pleased with the villa, location, host, and ambiance. I will strongly recommend this location to not only HomeAway customers but friends and acquaintances alike looking for an ideal vacation spot in Portugal. Thank you yet again Paulo!
