Stayed Aug 9, 2025We had a wonderful stay at Dezie Manor in the Cottage. The house is stunning and the host Grant is extremely attentive and helpful whilst unobtrusive. The house is very well equipped and the air conditioning was extremely welcome as we had temperatures of 40 degrees. Pool was an absolute dream and cleaned daily and our six year old loved the football table and games cabinet. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay here. Very clean and well located for access to local amenities, both of historic interest and also activities for children. We visited Sarlat, the steam train in Martel, Le Bugue, a water park (15 mins away - best for younger children) and went canoeing between Campagne and Lemeuil along the Vezere.

Stayed Aug 2, 2025Check in and communication was fantastic and very easy. Grant (the host) was super friendly and brought us much appreciated pizzas on the first night. Facilities were really good, with the games room being an added bonus to keep all amused in the evenings. Plenty of outside space for games and lovely shady areas. Great pool area and covered seating area, though a parasol would have been much appreciated for peak sun when on the sunbeds.Lots to explore in the area with highlights being the old towns areas of Bergerac and Perigeaux, Rouffignac Cave and the gorgeous hilltop village of Issigeac.

Stayed Jul 5, 2025Grant was the perfect host. Provided things quickly when asked and left us alone when not needed. The air con in the house was a blessing during the 2 week heat wave. Pool was an amazing temperature with the cosy shade of the pool house when the sun got too hot. Covered eating area with BBQ was used all the time(especially during the odd nightly heat storm). As mentioned on their website items provided have changed over the years and the gym is now a play room, but Grant dropped off a bench and free weights to use, which was perfect. Grant has plans over the winter to improve the site even more, which is even more reasons to book. Vergt town has a great bakery just opposite a really friendly Vets (who were great for our 2 dogs for the ‘pet passport’ requirements). The Intermarche has all you need (11 mins away) but the bigger Intermarche at Bugue will make up the rest. Sarlat Le Canada is about 40 mins away and has a must visit market on Saturday (leave by 8.30 to get reliable parking and a less busy market experience). Les Eyzies with its historic area and access to canoeing is also easily accessible (approx 30-40 mins). If you forget anything the Intermarche also has an Amazon locker so you just need to sign up to the French site. All in all a relaxing, enjoyable holiday for the family and dogs. Will look to book again next year.

Stayed Aug 5, 2023The house is a beautiful traditional building. It is light and airy with huge windows. We really liked the big walk-in showers in all the en suite bathrooms. The bedrooms are all quite separate (with the exception of two rooms) which gave everyone their own space. The gardens, terrace and pool are totally stunning and easy to relax in for adults and children alike. We spent whole days by the pool swimming and sunbathing - it gets sunshine all afternoon and well into the evening. There's also a gorgeous terrace by the kitchen for shaded meals overlooking the gardens. The hammock was popular too! It is a very rural location - we saw deer, heard owls and spotted shooting stars in the clear night sky (but still had good WiFi!). Our hire cars were invaluable for exploring the nearby towns, markets (market days are busy but great fun!) and supermarkets, and we even went all the way to the river Dordogne one day for canoeing. The only down side to this property was that local restaurant choices were limited - it is not as commercial as Bergerac or areas nearer the Dordogne. Having said that we had great meals at Le Mouton Noir in Vergt and La Ferme Auberge de la Colline. Also we didn't find any local taxi firms, so we ate in several nights using the great BBQ and very good quality food available in the shops. In summary this was a very beautiful spot for a secluded holiday with our extended family.

Stayed Aug 20, 2022We just spent two fabulous weeks at The Grange (2 adults, 3 teenagers and our dog). The property was fantastic. It looks just like the pictures with plenty of space for the 5 of us. The house stayed cool despite the high temperatures and we only needed to put the air conditioning on a couple of times. The pool and outside dining, relaxing area was one of the best we have ever stayed at. We spent many relaxing hours beside the pool enjoying the weather! The location, whilst rural, is only a short drive to the nearest town and perfectly placed to explore the local area. The Dordogne is beautiful and there is so much to do. Grant was a great host. Responsive and helpful. The pastries were a lovely surprise too - thank you. We had a brilliant holiday and hope to come back some day. Would definitely recommend Dezie Manor as a great place to stay.

Stayed Aug 6, 2022We have been renting properties in France for 20 years. The Grange was absolutely superb and on reflection there was nothing that we would change. The outdoor living area was excellent with 3 day beds, big dining area and Weber BBq. The pool was lovely in the heat of August sunshine and the living area was of a high standard. The owner was very helpful, on hand when needed and nothing was any problem making suggestions for restaurants and even booking them. Everything had been carefully designed and we will definitely be returning.

Stayed Aug 15, 2020We had a great week at the house. The pool was great and the perfect temperature. The outdoor lounge was incredible, and we spent many hours reading in its shade. The kitchen was everything we could hope for. Grant was so kind to bring us pastries and bread in the mornings to top it all off.
