Stayed Oct 6, 2024Let me tell you about my trip to the Dominican Republic—it was technically for business, but it felt like much more. The property was huge, but I was the only guest. I chose this place because it’s between Higuey and the resort area, giving me options in my free time. Though I was alone, the host, Dilenia, made sure I never felt isolated, graciously inviting me to her family’s gatherings, making it personal and special. The property looked just like the pictures—clean, inviting, and perfect for families or groups. The real gem: if you stay here, pay for the chef! His food was incredible. Every meal was an event. I’m a salt, pepper, and hot sauce guy, but trust me, you won’t need any of that here. Even a simple breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast was next level. The bacon is different from what we get in the States—fresh from the market, not prepackaged. I even got to go with the chef to the market, and it was amazing. I rented a car but hired one of the staff to drive me around instead. Driving in the DR is wild—mopeds everywhere, and no one follows the rules. The property is a straight shot from the airport, but if you’re driving, do it in daylight—trust me. At night, the dirt road to the house is pitch black, like something out of a horror movie. I had a blast, especially when Chavez, my driver, took me to local bars and a disco. I’ll definitely be back, next time with family and friends.
