Stayed Dec 31, 1969Castellabate retained a nice mixture of tourism and everyday life. Alfonso's property is conveniently located within a five minute walk down to city center and beach, and provides great unobstructed panorama sea views, particularly from the apartments on the top floor. We enjoyed a spacy balcony with views to Capri Island which we had visited before. Our apartment has been spacious and very completely equipped, including even detergents. Watch your head, particularly when using the toilet, and be prepared pool hours are not optimal. A car is a must when you want to visit the Cilento. All in all great value, highly recommended.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Nice place in nice neighbourhood, amazing sea views from the balcony. All descriptions on the web-site are quite accurate. Do not trust your GPS navigator when arriving. Alfonso provided quite good explanations how to find the villa, but we missed the sign (it is on the left side of the road if you drive from North) and then tried to use navigator, which made things worse. Just keep in mind that the villa is a bit up off the main road. For the rest - wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The top floor apartment we rented had a fantastic view overlooking the coast and over towards the Amalfi Coast etc. and was clean and tidy. The location suited us very well as it is very Italian and authentic. We also enjoyed the use of the pool which we appreciated due to the long days visiting Pompeii and other sites and it was always kept clean and tidy. The apartment was of a reasonable size for two although be aware that the top floor apartments have limited head room in parts. We would have appreciated more crockery as we were unable to fill up the dishwasher but this is really a minor point. A great holiday for us both.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Hi All, It was our first trip to Campania, SM (Santa Maria) is a nice place to discover the province. In first half of June SM is't overcrowd, but not empty. Soft sun, warm sea. Car is recommended. Stayed in Villa Elaia (Cerasella apt) for 2 weeks, absolutely quality well furnished country style apartment with a gorgeous panorama from the private terrace. If you're up 1,8 care of your head in the corners as our apt is attic. it made fun a couple of time. Sleep well, short walk to downtown, back the hill but easy affordable for all age. Special thanks to Alfonso (Villa's owner), for his hospitality, wish him success in such difficult business. I would go back there again!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969- accurate listing, good photos reflecting the layout and real state of the apartament - property clean, well maintained. A small problem in the bathroom has been immediately rapaired by the owner - the owner very helpful, offering assistance on the day of arrival and afterwords - it would be good if a small plan of how to find the villa be made , as arriving at night i the sign at the roadside was no that visible as in daylight -i would surely recommend it to others Though it is roughly 100+ km to reach Napoli, Sorento by car, the road or road+train is not too much to injoy it. The locality Sta Maria is a small and nice place to relax itself with good beach, some restaurants and bars , Ciliento national park just starting here too

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Situated south of both Agropoli and Paestum, 15 and 20 minutes by car, respectively, Santa Maria di Castellabate is a town no one touring the western coast south of Salerno should miss. On the hill opposite the town, across SS267 is The Villa Elaia. The villa includes several units of various sizes, housing from two to eight or nine people. It is a very comfortable, clean and well-maintained establishment and the proprietor, Alphonso Cianfrone is most accommodating. What makes this the perfect place for couples, and families are the wonderful views from the upper level units, and the quiet serenity of the area. From the terraces of our unit Cerasella, we overlooked the town and the sea, and each night had beautiful sunsets. A roll-down awning allows one to decrease the amount of sun obtained during the day, however, in the later afternoon, the sun directly shines onto the terrace. Although it can be warm in the later summer months, there is a breeze, which makes it most comfort. The Units are nicely decorated, and are supplied with enough dinnerware and cookware to accommodate the number of people staying in each unit. The sizes of the terraces allow ample space, correlating to the size of the unit. Each terrace is equipped with a barbeque grill, lounge chairs, and a table and chairs. The pictures in the advertisement are most accurate, but fail to capture fully the beauty of the surroundings. Our stay at the Villa Elaia was the week from August 10th – 17th/ 2013, a celebratory week for all of Italy. As August 15th is the Assumption Day, also known as Ferragosto. From our terrace we could see the fireworks from the town and along the coast, including those from as far away as Positano. There are tables and chairs as well as lounge chairs in the garden for those not wanting to visit the beaches, which are most crowded during the month of August. Also located in the garden are playground items for children and an outdoor grill. I would recommend staying at this lovely Villa and while there stopping at the Pergola Ristorante & Pizzeria, with both inside and outside dining. The owner, Antonio Florio, is most attentive and greets patrons upon arrival, as well as stopping by tables to inquire of the needs of the patrons. Although the pizza is very good, and ordered by many, we chose to order different foods from the menu, each as enjoyable as the next, and all moderately priced. There is a decent wine list, many representing those produced in the region.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our family stayed a week in the Cerasella apartment at Villa Elaia and enjoyed it immensely. The apartment is pristine, well-equipped and with a breathtaking view of the sea, especially at sunset. We really appreciated having a parking space within the Villa grounds. The town of Santa Maria di Castellabate is a short walk away (though uphill on the way back) and was perfect for an after dinner stroll and gelato. Alfonso was very helpful and accomodating, he also gave us excellent recommendations on which beaches and restaurants to go to. A wonderful vacation, and we definitely recommend Villa Elaia to anyone who is planning on visiting the Cilento region.
