Stayed Aug 24, 2018We stayed 10 days in this beautiful house. The view is amazing, having the sun set right in front of you is something quite unique. The house is great too, plenty of spaces to relax and read. West and East terraces, so that you can choose if you want the sun or not at all times. Very confortable house, everything is done with taste, you really don't feel it's a rental. Kitchen is fully equipped, and the bathrooms are A class! We really didn't want to leave the house. We ended up having most meals at the house, as we felt so much at home. We will be back!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a fantastic time in Alexandra’s house in Aegina. The house is located on a hillside overlooking Kypseli, and the views from its terrace and garden over the Saronic Gulf are marvellous. Sitting in the beautiful garden in front of the house and enjoying the gorgeous sunset views was one of our daily highlights. Alexandra permitted us to take some of the fresh fruit (figs and grapes) from the garden, which became a wonderful part of practically all of our meals. The house is very tastefully furnished, full of lovely details and gave us immediately the feeling of being home. It is tidy, spacious and very cozy. It is also fully equipped (including a dishwasher, a washing machine, baby bed and baby chair which all proved very helpful). The four bedrooms and two bathrooms allow even for large families to have a very comfortable stay. The garden is great for kids to play in, while at the same time allowing the grown-ups to relax in the shade, for instance in the hammock. We loved taking our meals in the beautiful terrace with the large tables and benches. We were very warmly welcomed when arriving in Aegina. Alexandra and her family were always very helpful and available for support. Alexandra’s house is definitely one of most beautiful places we have seen in many years of travelling in Greece!

Stayed Jun 9, 2017This is a wonderful home to relax in...to really feel as if you are 'living' on this lovely, working island with great swimming and interesting drives and walks in the hinterland. You can easily spend a day at the house...reading, creating or just watching from your hill top view as the ferries and boats cross the shimmering blue sea that is your view...framed with trees and backed with islands and mountains in the distance...and surely one of the best sunsets ever. The house is cleverly laid out in two wings meaning their is ample privacy if and when needed and the long and large communal area of sitting, dining and kitchen makes for ease of continuing conversations while you prep a salad or open some local wine. Fantastic bakery close by...and fresh produce shop too and only 10 mins from a large local supermarket with a great variety of items. A perfect base from which to enjoy Aigina.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969It is difficult to write when you know that words would be insufficient to express every pleasure we experienced during our stay in Artist's retreat, which is a retreat in its full meaning. The beauty of the house surpasses the photos they posted. And apart from the beauty, we felt like we were invited to a friend's house. Friendly reception when we arrived, the atmosphere of the house, many wonderful details in it, food and wine waiting to round the feeling of being a part of something unique. There were 8 of us, with three children around 11. No one was in someone's way. Every one of us could find ones place to enjoy and be relaxed. And, also, the house and the porch offer places to gather during long evenings of total enjoyment. The position of the house is very convenient to explore beaches, villages, remains of the past and everything this nice island (not drowned in tourism) could offer. Even when I write this review I could smell mornings in front of the house, in the shadow of the palm tree, while drinking my coffee, and hear those murmurs of the day that fades away. We'll be back, for sure!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful house in Aegina. Located on a hillside, the views are amazing both by day and by night. We had some wonderful breakfasts and dinners on the terrace watching the sea and the boats in the distance, as well as gazing at the stars at night. The orchard is lovely and we were lucky to be there in time to taste the ripening figs, just delicious! The whole experience was great, from the very helpful email exchanges with the owner to a warm welcome in the port and arriving at a peaceful, laid-back home. We travelled with a 10 month old baby and the owner was most thoughtful, providing lots of baby extras, in addition to the cot and the highchair. We would definitely recommend this villa for a relaxing, peaceful holiday in Aegina!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The House of the Artist is a nice name for a holiday home ! I thought that in Brussels, when we chose it. But it was totally different on the spot ! The house was really designed and lived by an artist ! This house speaks. It speaks in Summer through the terrace, and in Winter, too, hidden behind the walls, where, in front of the fireplace, I can imagine women and men of words and music , all of them in the mood with the surrounding mythology . We had exceptional moments on the terrace, during breakfast time, when the morning sun gradually floods the sea, and at sunset, when the sea swallows the sun in return, and I don't speak of the warm welcome of its inhabitants. Moreover, I am a lover of the bougainvillea, which invade the whole island and by which are welcome the visitors of this house. Jc. Joannidès. Storyteller.
