A beautiful historic mansion.

We used the vrbo as a base to visit family and attractions in the area

We live in Guelph and needed a place to stay for a few weeks during our home renovation. We've admired this house for years. What a treat. Rita welcomed us and offered to get us anything we needed, which was nothing because this place has EVERYTHING. 2 bedrooms, laundry, kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, kettle, pots, pans, cups bowls, plates and cutlery - french press, pod and drip coffee makers. Some tea, coffee and cereal were provided too. It's a lovely heritage house and there aren't many outlets, but we managed to set up a home office in each bedroom. There was an issue with the heating during our stay (heritage house, old system, it happens) We had an electric fireplace, and extra blankets and a Rita told us where to find an extra space heater. We made out just fine. The bathroom is small but functional. Stand-up shower only, which never got super hot but we figured it may be related to the heating issue - I have to tell Rita about that. The fixtures in the bathroom are a bit tired, but they work fine Rita was always just a text away if we needed anything, and left us to ourselves for our stay. We felt welcome and comfy the entire time. If ever we have family visiting us a need a place to stay, we'll think of Rita's place first. NOTE there are lots of stairs so people with limited mobility may struggle with those (heritage house, they're beautiful) If you can manage those, it's a great spot. Walking distance from downtown, River Run Centre, and Sleeman Centre.

Great apartment with all the comforts of home. Rita, the host, was very sweet and responsive. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll definitely stay here and recommend it for others.

The property was true to what it says in the ad. The Edwardian style house was very handsome, and the apartment itself was very large and very elegant. Each room was well appointed. The kitchen was well stocked with everything one would need, crockery, glassware, cutlery and very modern and convenient appliances. Thoughtful snacks were available. The sitting room was tremendously comfortable and homey. The dining room was very large and elegant with a beautiful golden niche. The bedrooms had very comfortable beds and beautifully decorated; the bathrooms were modern and beautiful. The house is located conveniently in the center of the old town. In short because of Rita, our host, being so generous and accommodating, we had a memorable time.
