Stayed Jun 21, 2025We loved the house and neighborhood. Great access to the carriage roads, hiking trails and the beach at seal harbor. The house was very comfortable for relaxing after a long day’s hike. Jordan pond road was a convenient base to explore bar harbor, northeast harbor and southwest harbor from. Rosemary and Charlie were the perfect hosts!

Stayed Jun 14, 2025I loved my stay here! The house was just as described, walking distance to Acadia and carriage roads, and a beautiful home immaculately maintained. Located in a neighborhood of locals who knew each other and walked dogs and kids in the mornings and evenings. Felt like home. Grilled burgers on the patio to the sounds of a babbling Stanley Brook. I was warmly greeted on arrival by Rosemary whose emphasis was ensuring that I would enjoy my stay. I would stay there again as my absolute first choice on MDI, it was perfect for me. Thank you to Rosemary and Charlie for such a great spot and warm hospitality.

Stayed Jun 22, 2024Flawless vacation home in the heart of Acadia. The owners have created and maintained a masterpiece that combines comfort and convenience while adhering to a philosophy of environmental sustainability and harmony. From the soothing sounds of a backyard-babbling-brook to the delightfully comfortable beds, it is challenging to motivate yourself to walk out the front door and begin any number of great Acadia adventures. Walk to Jordan Pond House; Seal Harbor beach; or the Island Explorer bus-stop in less than 30 minutes. A few decent options for food and drink near the home, but easy to hop on the bus (in season) for even more excellent choices in Bar Harbor. Or you can choose to utilize the fully equipped kitchen and cook yourself a nice meal. The options and possibilities offered by the home and the area will accommodate any vacation style. The owners care for their home and ensure that your family will have an enjoyable and safe stay. Book it, you will not be disappointed.

Stayed Sep 16, 2023We can’t say enough good things about our stay at Sunscape. This solar-powered house is lovely, comfortable, and immaculately kept, nestled in woods adjoining Acadia National Park. You can walk onto a park carriage road, or to a nearby pond. Bar Harbor is a short drive from the house. Rosemary and Charlie are wonderful hosts, kind and full of helpful information. We hope we will be able to return.

Stayed Jun 24, 2023The house is immaculately clean, with clear instructions for its use, and comfortably fit our family of 3 (two adults and one toddler). Seal Harbor is the perfect location for access to Acadia and everything the area has to offer, and it’s also close to Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor and other coastal Mt Desert Island towns. We were also able to catch one of the local free buses from Seal Harbor and Jordan Pond. Carriage trails for biking are also within a short walk, and several hiking paths are accessible from the property as well. Rosemarie and Charlie were exceptional hosts and the location is as social or as secluded as you want it to be. We’ve been coming to Acadia for over a decade and this has been one of this best visits to date.
