It was a Relaxing stay for my family and so convenient to blackrocks and sugarloaf mountain! I loved having a morning cup of coffee overlooking the pond. We seen a crane, hummingbirds and ducks. Also the star view was amazing.

What a wonderful relaxing place to vacation in Marquette. Our boys loved the pond and the stream and the quiet backyard. We also really appreciated how close we were to town and the black rocks and wonderful dining. The home was clean and had all the amenities needed to be a home away from home. Beds were clean and comfortable too. Thank you so much!

We really enjoyed our time in Marquette. The adventures hiking to waterfalls, jumping off the black rocks, swimming at lake Independence, climbing Sugarloaf and exploring downtown were just what we needed. Melissa was a great host. She was helpful and responsive when needed, but we didn't need her much because we had no issues. The house and the property were well maintaine and welcoming. The location was perfect for all the things we wanted to do. We loved the stream in the backyard. We spent our time at the house investigating the stream and fishing for trout. (We caught 1 little brook trout, a perfect experience for our young daughter). We hope to come back to Marquette soon and would love to stay here again.

The host is a great communicator. We found the house very clean and welcoming. The beds and furniture were comfortable. The back yard was beautiful and relaxing. The only thing I would point out is that you can hear the traffic in front of the house on a busy road if that's something that would bother you. The location of the house to Marquette and many hiking trails and beaches was great.

This is a great property. There was a beautiful pond with wildflowers around it, a nice fire pit, and outdoor relaxation areas, as well as a creek my boys enjoyed tromping through. A heads up, the hot tub is not a traditional hot tub, but rather a bath tub outside that you can will with hot water. The house is older, but well maintained and very clean. The location is fantastic. So close to downtown, hiking, the beach, just really great! The only downside to the location is that it is close to a busy road, so there is some traffic noise. Melissa, the owner, was an excellent host. She's clearly thought through what people will need when staying at her property. She was easy to communicate with and welcoming. We'd love to visit again!

We travel to Marquette every year, so we've stayed in numerous spots. This has been our favorite so far, and would definitely check this one first for our next vacation. The location is absolutely perfect for what we like. You're less than 5 minutes away from popular hikes like Sugarloaf, Hogsback, Little Presque beach, and Harlow Lake. Likewise, you're only minutes away from downtown, so you get to be away from the traffic, but still close enough to not feel like you're wasting valuable vacation time with trips into town. Melissa was also a fantastic host, and was extremely communicative. Check in/out was a breeze. If we had a question, it was answered near immediately. Lastly, my wife really appreciated the little things. We've run into issues with other rentals where we'd learn that basic necessities weren't there, or there weren't enough for our entire stay. Not an issue here. There were plenty of trash bags, toilet paper, hand soap, etc ...you'd think this would be standard at rentals, but it isn't. We never ran out of the basics here. Lastly, the smore kit for the kids was a nice and thoughtful touch. We definitely recommend this if you're looking for a cozy spot close to everything.

Melissa's house is a true gem, we stopped here for a few days during our trip along the Big Lakes. It's very well kept, has a huge garden with a pond and a small river. One evening we could even see a deer in the garden! There were all amenities that we could wish for. Coffee, a grill, cooking utensils, a washer and a dryer and much more. Everything was very clean and in excellent condition. The heart of Marquette is only a 10 minute drive. The house made us feel at home away from home. In our case this was more than important: due to the Crowdstrike grounding, our daughter had major troubles getting aboard her booked flights from Europe to Marquette and we had to do a lot of trouble shooting via phone and web. So Melissa was able, in an uncomplicated and easygoing way, to adjust our stay which was super helpful - thank you very much! All in all we can only recommend this house to future guests!

We loved our stay at this property. It had everything we needed and Melissa went above and beyond with the little touches like spare toiletries, laundry soap and a Smores kit. The outside grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The house isn’t a far drive from downtown, trails or stores. Definitely recommend!
