You Gotta Know When To Holden Luxury second Row Home with private pool , 4 Bedrooms / 6 Bathrooms

The good: - the location was wonderful, close to the beach, great views - the main kitchen is newly redone and a great space to spend time together with everyone - the porches are great - The pool area is really nice and well done, salt water pool which is a plus. The bad: - other than the main kitchen, the house is in really bad shape, air vents coated with dust, showers had mold, water damage pretty evident, drywall damage around the house, carpet torn all over the place. Some fans we didn't use as they seemed like they were going to shoot out of the ceiling. All in all, the house was just gross and didn't seem to have been cleaned very well (hair left in the shower etc). The ridiculous: - We have used 3 different rental companies at Holden so I am comparing my experiences there with here. This company has a rule posted all around the house and if you, violate the rule, you get a fine, it became a running joke during our stay. Forget to roll the trashcans out, fine, forget to put a dish up, fine, leave any trash anywhere in the house, fine, leave your stuff accidentally, fine, get any makeup on the sheets, fine. Not a huge deal to take out the trash etc, but you also pay a cleaning so the other stuff just seemed silly. Lastly, first house I have ever been to that didn't have, starter supplies like a single roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, hand soap etc to get you going. Not a big deal but a big difference. Overall, we will not use this company or rent this house again. We still had a good time but this is my honest review.

The house was in a great location. It was second row but we could see the ocean from the second floor and at night heard the waves crashing on the shore. The beach access was literally 2 mins walk. The outside showers, with hot water, made clean up a breeze after coming back from the beach. Or, before getting into the pool which was a good size. The house was big enough for our party of 10 and we weren’t constantly in each other’s way. You can get to the second floor from the outside, but have to go through bedrooms on the inside to get there. The fan in our bedroom made such a loud droning sound that we had to turn it off even when it got warm around 2 am. Light switches and TV were confusing .. but we finally figured it out. We enjoyed our stay but the property isn’t for someone who has a hard time with stairs.

Our overall experience was great. The pool was awesome! The layout of the house was a bit odd with access to common areas required either thru someone's bedroom or by going outside. TV on upper level didn't work and cable downstairs was in and out. Hallway downstairs is a tripping hazard as it is warped in the middle. Vents need cleaning and doors are hard to open/close. Kitchen needs an anti-stick skillet. Other than that the house was well decorated and spacious, perfect for our multi-generation family getaway/reunion. Very close to the beach and had a nice view on the upstairs balcony. Also loved the wildlife we watched each day in the surrounding vacant lot. Saw a hawk and a deer family of 4 that lived there.

Overall our stay was very good! A few things in the beach house could use some adjustment , like the very shakey & noisey upstair bedrooms fans & the mattresses, The one thing that definitely needs attention is the beach access! It is not handicap accessible! The stairs needing down to the beach need to be ramps! It is extremely difficult to get a beach cart or beach wheelchair up or down the stairs! It's very hard for elderly guests to lift the carts laden with chairs , umbrellas, & beach toys. We had to assist a close neighbor trying to get a member of their family who couldn't walk up the stairs with the beach wheelchair. RAMPS are definitely needed instead of stairs!

We had a great time and the home was beautiful. The grandchildren loved the pool. The home was well furnished for all of our needs.

This beach house met all of our needs. Very spacious and clean. Kitchen was well equipped. Short walk to the beach and the pool and deck area with bar was very nice and had plenty of room for everyone. Plenty of deck and bar furniture and clean. This unit was as advertised and we would definitely rent this again.

Nice place Huge floor plan with lots of space, especially the upstairs.

The location of the house was great. Easy access to the beach. However, the rugs in all rooms upstairs and downstairs were stained and dirty. The lights in two downstairs bathrooms were not working. One of the chairs in the kitchen was broken. There was mold on the blinds in the back bedroom. There were stains on two of the bedspreads in the two downstairs bedrooms. The remote to the DVD in the downstairs living room was missing. After being assured by the rental company that someone would be by to check on it, no one ever showed up. This house needs a thorough cleaning and some tender loving care.
