Stayed Aug 24, 2025Beautiful property, wonderful location, delightful hostess.We loved our stay at the Carriage House with gorgeous views of rolling green hills and nearby mountains. Our hostess (in the main house across the road) allowed us to wander her many acres of land including her own lovely backyard with flowers and views. The location, a short distance from Billings Farm and the town of Woodstock, also provided us with opportunities to walk the rural backroads with quaint barns and interesting farmhouses.The Carriage House itself, while slightly aged, provided everything we needed, and we felt the only improvement could be a more updated bathroom. We would happily stay again at this lovely location!

Stayed Apr 26, 2025Margarete and Alice welcomed us upon arrival. The house was the quintessential New England home! It was super clean, our bed was very comfortable with soft welcoming linens. The views are incredible, and the property provided much needed peace and tranquility. The weather was not the best but we managed to find plenty to do in the area. Alice, Margarete's black lab, took us for a hike on the property. She was an excellent playful guide! We look forward to returning to this peaceful retreat in the mountains.

Stayed Sep 7, 2024Fantastic week spent in the Carriage House. The view from the back porch is so perfect and serene and the house is spacious and so relaxing. Our hosts were among the best we’ve encountered; Andrew provided excellent insight on where to go and what to do and Margarete was an absolute delight! We will definitely stay with you again when In Vermont! If you’re looking for THE perfect getaway that’s close to everything but secluded on a lovely farm, look no further. Loved it!!

Stayed May 24, 2024The carriage house was exactly as described, but the setting in fields and hills could not be captured in photos -- beautiful and changing with time and light. Andrew was the official host, who was very helpful in advance, but his mother, living across the road, was the on-site host and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The location was ideal: quiet and scenic, but a 7-minute drive to Woodstock village. But don't bring your Lamborghini -- the dirt road is rough!
