Stayed May 17, 2025Wyndham Wind Down is the perfect getaway for those looking for a quietly relaxing place to stay within minutes of any amenity you can imagine. Set on a peaceful lake shore with a dock, a firepit, and upper and lower decks with breathtaking views. Its less than 20 minutes from downtown Portland and Old Port with wonderful restaurants with local fare to suit anyone's tastes. It's also located well within driving distance of beautiful mountain forest and coastal island parks that are a must see.We cannot say enough about the proprietors of the home. Check-in and out was totally pain free and any questions we had were promptly answered via the VRBO messaging feature. Their gracious hospitality was greatly appreciated. Our stay at Wyndham Wind Down was the best part of the whole vacation, and that's saying a lot. Even the cleaning service they use is fantastic. They recovered one of our bags we left accidentally, called me, and delivered the bag to downtown Portland to us before we returned home. Many thanks to all involved. (Plus, Maine is a wonderful place to visit!)
