West Elk Wilderness Lodge

This property is awesome for big family gathering! My son graduated from Western and there was 8 adults and 1 child more than enough room and space for all. Loved it being in town and my son's house was literally 1 block away. Truly a great property!!!

The house was in a great location - close to Gunnison, stores and restaurants, nearby hikes and outdoor activities - but in a quiet area of town. The house was well-stocked and spacious. Our group enjoyed the steam shower, multiple TVs, and radiant-floor heat. The general flow of the house allowed everyone to interact on the main floor at all times, and the pool table was a great added amenity. We would definitely return!

The location and access to the river was amazing. Our host Jenny was very responsive. The pool table was a must.

We always enjoy our stay!! The kitchen is fully stocked for large groups. All the rooms are spacious and comfortable.

The cabin was the perfect space for family during a family wedding weekend. It was close to everything. The cabin also was spacious enough for additional family to have a place to hang out and visit in between wedding events. Thanks to a crockpot provided in the kitchen- we were able to go out for a hike and return to homemade chili. The pool table provided hours of fun.

Great location and the house is clean.

The house was ok but somewhat shabbier than the pictures would lead you to believe. The front steps, the hand rail and the towel bar in the lower bathroom need repair. Thistles are growing through the deck and the patio with the fireplace is cracked and broken and some of the chairs are broken. The house is in a neighborhood not in the wilderness and not the nicest neighborhood in Gunnison. That said, it was clean and well supplied. We enjoyed our stay but the pictured of the house made us think we were getting something nicer.

We loved everything about this place. The listing was very accurate and the location was great, close to everything and yet off the main roads so no noise, very peaceful. I come back to Gunnison almost every summer and will defiantly rent this VRBO again with my family.

What a fantastic house!!! Beautiful home, quiet neighborhood, spacious house with plenty of room for the kids and adults to spread out. The kitchen had all we could need- griddle, crockpot and much more. The kitchen table was huge and fit our family of 10 comfortably around it! We only have two complaints: one of the beds was very uncomfortable, the springs were poking through. Second was the muddy driveway which made it a mess to load and unload our crew daily. Aside from those two issues, we loved the house!! We had deer come through the backyard as well as a fox! What a treat to see the beauty of nature right out the back windows! The neighbor is also very sweet and welcomed our families. We will definitely rent this beautiful home on our next Gunnison trip.

The host was more than helpful with questions or concerns that we had, the property was exactly as advertised. Will definitely be booking with them again.

The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need! We got about 2-3 feet of snow during our stay and the just was extremely responsive with getting a crew to plow us out! We loved the place and made so many memories:)

This property was excellent for our needs. The house was stocked with everything to make our stay cozy and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and a convenient distance to town. It was just what we were hoping for.

This home is in a great location is very spacious. It was just our family, but two families could easily stay here.

Our family traveled into Gunnison for a family wedding. West Elk was the perfect house to host our family.

The house was clean and well stocked. The kitchen has everything you would need. There are multiple spaces inside and out for everyone the gather. If we had another family event in Gunnison, we would definitely rent this house again.
