Gunnison, Colorado
Beautiful and cozy. Built in 1939, this home was completely remodeled into elegance in 2018 while keeping the historic feeling with the original floors and clay walls. The upstairs has a queen bed and a full bath with Jacuzzi tub/shower. The main level is an open floor plan for the living/kitchen/dinning. The couch has a queen pull out bed with a memory foam mattress. There is a gas fireplace that is on a thermostat for constant comfort in the cooler months, while the thick adobe walls keep the house nice and cool in the summer months. The bedroom on the main level has a queen bed. There is also another full bath on the main level. There is an oversized entryway with washer and dryer. This is very convenient for gear and bags, keeping your living space clutter free.
The Cottage is located right off the main road toward Crested Butte, about 2 miles north of Gunnison. It is conveniently located near (walking distance) to one of the main river put ins. Also Walking distance to one of Gunnisons best restaurants, Garlic Mikes, and walking distance to the bus stop that runs between Crested Butte and Gunnison.
Very clean and cute. Perfect little weekend getaway.
This is by far one of the best places we’ve stayed!! The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked and the house is well maintained. Definitely want to stay here again!!
A wonderful property convenient to town, just steps from the river. Very comfortable and roomy. Private and quiet - we loved it!
I stayed here with my Mom and it was perfect. Other places we have stayed in the same area, we’ve had to clean when we checked in before we felt comfortable. This place was amazing and very clean! Owner was great to deal with! We plan to stay here again next year!
The house was great. Perfect location to explore Gunnison, Crested Butte, Black Canyon and more. The house has nice amenities and is clean. Patio area with the grill was a nice feature.
Responsive host. Clean and nice location near the river.
Nicely done property with all the extras that make the stay hassle free. Would and will stay again!
The house is nestled among trees just steps from the Gunnison River, and has been thoughtfully updated. It was very comfortable for us traveling with our daughter and baby grandson. We cooked in the fully stocked kitchen, and one night we walked over to Garlic Mike's and sat by the river enjoying delicious Italian food. The only downside was the road noise, which made it hard to sleep with the window open (a necessity in summer(.
If you want an authentic Gunni experience and great value, stay at this place. It’s an older building, but the inside is pretty much like new. Really nicely done and decorated. The loft is basically a master bedroom and absolutely adorable. The place is right on the highway, but honestly even though we’re light sleepers, we didn’t hear road noise at night. We did struggle to get the main floor warm the first morning we were there. But it was an extra cold morning in January. And once we got a space heater plus the gas stove going, we were set. Our kids loved staying here and so did we. Property mangers were really great to work with - friendly, accommodating and responsive.
This place was great for us, my wife and I and 3 teens. It's not far out of town, right off the road, easy to find and get to. The location is along the river in a beautiful spot. I think it would be great in the summer too. The house had everything we needed. The owners, Taryn and Mark were great, helping us with car trouble and moving snow the first morning we were there. Our only issue was setting the temperature. If the downstairs was warm, the upstairs was too hot. If we got the upstairs comfortable, the downstairs was too cold. We probably would have figured it out if we had stayed longer. Us southerners are just used to central heat and air and we don't know how to use other heat sources. But, having said that, we would definately stay here again. In fact, we hope to.
Home has all the extras for cooking, laundry and bathrooms. Very clean, comfortable & great ski storage room. Walking distance to Garlic Mikes is a plus!
Perfect 2bd, 2 bath house for a weekend visit to Gunnison. Very short walk to Garlic Mike's Italian restaurant, which was fantastic. House was well stocked with all the essentials; plenty of towels, bathroom toiletries, and a well appointed kitchen. Very comfortable. Would certainly stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay very much.
Convenient location for our family.
Beautiful remodeled home that was conveniently located 2 miles outside of Gunnison and sits on HWY 135 for easy access to Almont and Crested Butte. Instructions were clear and easy and checkout was also the same. We'll certainly be coming back for future visits.
Great spot, clean house, walking distance to a couple restaurants and the river.
We had an excellent stay. The cottage was furnished with everything to make our stay enjoyable. The only suggestion would be to have better lighting over the upstairs vanity.
Everything you could want to make your stay easy and enjoyable was provided. The kitchen was equipped with condiments, pots and pans and every kind of utensils. Laundry detergent was provided. Space was clean and comfortable. The only drawback was car noise which was not a problem indoors, only when sitting outside and enjoying the camp-like setting.
Property was unique, very clean and stocked, and easily accessible! Very peaceful stay in Gunnison!
Nicely remodeled cottage where old meets new in a special way. VERY clean, comfortable and well maintained. Fully stocked kitchen with absolutely everything you need and more. Owners have gone out of their way to create a warm and charming place to call “home”. Taryn was fantastic at answering questions with prompt replies. Located by the river on a large private lot. Natural surroundings which attract wildlife. We arrived to find a deer happily munching on the wild grasses. It is located on Highway 50 so you do hear traffic noise when outside. However, the new windows are very well insulated so it is quiet inside. We highly recommend the cottage and will stay again the next time we are in the area.
Very nice accommodations. Great location. Check in & check out couldn’t have been easier. Easy access to hostess if needed. Remodeled home is perfect combination of old meets new. Pictures on web site are exactly as viewed. I would highly recommend this property.
We all really enjoyed our stay for our special reunion of old college friends. Our only difficulty was trying to find the address for the turn off to the house since it sits back a bit from the road. Maybe a little bigger house number? But other than that we thought it was great! Thanks!
