The ocean was visible from the room/deck. The place is very conveniently located to the beach with literally just walking across the street and you're on to the sand. It's probably a 10-minute walk from things like the lighthouse and the restaurants and stores in the middle of the island which is not bad at all. The place was very clean. But like many reviews, State the place is also a little outdated and needs some TLC to get it up to an excellent stay. Bed in the upper bedroom shook with little effort. With all the lights off, arriving at night was not very friendly. But we figured it out. The lower bedroom is detached from all of the rest of the house. Which is good if you have a couple or an individual staying who you can trust to be separated from the group. But if you're trying to put young kids in both the second and third bedrooms, this is not ideal. The water was very smelly at first because it has been sitting in a tank. Not doing much for a long time. There is a lot of moisture in the air on St. George Island and the bedrooms could stand a solid carpet cleaning and refreshing. And the east side of the building needs a gutter because there's so much moisture nightly that it begins dripping off the house in the evening and all night long onto the stairs that you have to take to get to the laundry which is in the detached bedroom. Despite a few issues it was a very complete house that was convenient and we did enjoy our stay.

Interior and patio pictures need to be updated. Not all furniture in pictures there. Washer and dryer were a bonus. Kitchen was awesome, just needs a new coffee maker. Good area, quiet, within walking distance of town center. Would stay again. Lee

The view was stunning and exactly as described. The location was great. The living room Furniture and beds were comfortable although not adequate for 6 Guests. The kitchen was well equipped although the stove and refrigerator are both in rough shape. There are very few positives. The ground floor bedroom is seperate from the rest of the house. Guests have go outside and up a flight of exterior stairs to access the rest of the house from there. Not really a 3 bedroom house at all! The 3rd floor bedroom has no door and you can see from the kitchen into the bedroom. there are no closets and except for musty antique armoires there is no place to hang your clothes. The bathrooms are all tiny ans very outdated. There is no place to put your toiletries. The shower on the main floor has such a small opening it is almost not usable for adults. There are no extra towels or blankets so be sure to bring your own. Check in was inconvenient at a different location. The host made no effort to make the house a place we would want to return to. I would definitely not recommend it or return there.

The the stay was very nice. The weather was beautiful and all in all the property was in good condition. The whole family enjoyed.

Nice location , needs a few updates and general maintenance to the property but it’s a cute place in a great location ! All the beds were not very comfortable, may be time to replace some mattresses ! The house had all the appliances and dishes you needed! Well stocked !

Catbird has the best location for a quiet and convenient beach vacation! Just 20 min to the amazing St George Island State Park and a 3 min walk to the beach from the house. Perfect views from the main floor balcony!

The downstairs bedroom was very small but functional. The window AC units worked well. We did find 2 4 dead cockroaches and one small live one. So maybe they should spray more frequently. Not sure why we needed to check in in person in a one hour window as they just gave us a code to the door and not a physical key. Other rentals on SGI have us sign digitally and do all the communication electronically. But the property management people were very friendly.

Home is slightly dated, and could use some deep cleaning and a new coffee pot. One pot of coffee takes about 1.5 hours to brew, I recommend bringing your own. But the house has everything else you need. TVs in the bedrooms do not work but who’s watching tv at the beach anyways. Perfect walking distance to anything you want and a room the street from the beach is the best plus ever!

We enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect with quick walking access to the beach and stores with a beautiful view of the ocean. The property has been neglected and would benefit with some cosmetic improvement, but is reflected in the price compared to others. Check in wasn’t friendly, as if we were not welcome, but they did allow us to stay an extra night. We would stay again.

The mother-in-law room was perfect for our twenty-year-old college student. We spent limited time in the house, but the views and accommodations met our needs and provided for a fun, relaxing weekend before returning to work and school.

Here's our only criticism: insufficient supplies (toilet paper, tissue, no filters for coffee maker) and the A/C system was loud enough to wake the dead.
