Stayed Aug 2, 2025Not the fanciest place, but simple and we like that. Plenty of room for my husband, I, and our 8 children. Location is most excellent. Hoping to stay again next year.

Stayed Jun 28, 2025Really nice location, close to the beach. Nice back yard right on the marsh, kids were able to play outside, plenty of outdoor seating for meals, off street parking. Layout of the house was awesome with 4 bedrooms and plenty of beds.

Stayed Jun 21, 2025Really good location! Out the back is a marsh with sunsets and wildlife. The front is 2 blocks from the beach. Hard to beat. Excellent owner communication.

Stayed Aug 12, 2023Great location with beach access and beautiful view of marsh out back. I’m fussy about cleanliness, especially since covid. Kitchen cupboard doors all had sticky handles from dirty hands, dirty light switches throughout, dirty upholstery (I cleaned a food stain on the couch left by previous renters) and dirty rug. It seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned before our visit. The 2 bathrooms are both downstairs, one updated with a large tub shower and one older with a shower stall. One bedroom had a queen bed with an old mattress that sagged in the center and the twin had a mattress with no box spring. The vacuum had little suction and needs repair.

Stayed Jul 29, 2023This is our second year staying at this property. When it was time to book our vacation, as a family, we were unanimous about renting this house again (which never happens). It is in a quiet neighborhood just down the road to the beach. The backyard is the marsh which is beautiful and cool - just bring bug spray. There’s plenty of space for the 4 of us and some friends. Hopefully we will have the same good luck next year

Stayed Jul 16, 2022This year I had trouble finding a property to rent close to the beach. We never stayed in Scarborough before so when I saw this place I was a little skeptical. However I was pleasantly surprised. The house is a good size and plenty of beds to accommodate guests. It’s just a block from the beach and the backyard is the marsh with a beautiful view. We spent most nights out there. The neighborhood is quiet but you’re in walking distance to a few restaurants. I would definitely recommend this property

Stayed Jul 30, 2022This was our THIRD year staying at Rob’s property on Pine Point, and honestly, the location cannot be beat! Our family loves this spot, the marsh views and the easy, quick access to the ocean. There’s lots of parking, which is a plus for our large family and ample outdoor dining space. The only thing that’s missing is an outdoor fire pit! Rob, let us have an outdoor fire! Haha :) Thanks again!!

Stayed Jul 23, 2022You won’t find a better back yard for the price at Pine Point. The little bunk house was great for playing cards with the family on the rainy evening. The short walk to Pine Point beach. Best beach in Maine. Short walk to the best seafoods and great ice cream nightly at Bailey’s before watching the sunset over the marsh in our own back yard. The house was great for our close knit family. Smaller kitchen but we didn’t spend much time inside. Nice parking for the 3 cars. That’s hard to find as well in Pine Point. Definitely looking to book it again in 2023!

Stayed Aug 28, 2021This rental property is extremely expensive for what you get. Pluses are that the location is wonderful, the marsh in the back is beautiful, and it’s very close to the beach and some amazing seafood restaurants. But the house itself is old, in pretty significant disrepair (for being a rental—some things were downright dangerous, such as exposed nails in the wall of one of the bedroom window frames), the back sliding door key didn’t work (which meant you always had to leave out of the front door), and in no way, shape, or form comfortably sleeps 10 people unless those people are happy sleeping almost on top of each other. The home is clearly laid out and advertised in such a way as to maximize the number of occupants to justify the very high rental price. There is no bathroom upstairs (where you must pass through one bedroom to get to another) and the two bathrooms downstairs are right next to each other, which is super awkward depending on your comfort level with whomever you’re staying in the rental. My elderly parents chose the bedroom with the window AC and the mattress was so uncomfortable they went to wal-mart to purchase an air mattress to put over top of it. Overall, in spite of the positive aspects of this rental’s location, the rental itself was dirty, in disrepair, and really looked like it needed a home inspection to address a multitude of serious issues. As another reviewer mentioned. the kitchen was also far from new and many of the cabinets were truly in a state of disrepair. We appreciated the owners prompt response to our questions while we were there. While we would not stay here again for the reasons mentioned, we share this review to forewarn others but also in the hope that the owner will have the home inspected for safety, and to address the many issues that could be easily resolved to make the home more comfortable and inviting to future guests. This property has great potential. Devoting one month of rental earnings to beefing the property up, making it more comfortable (and safe) would do wonders for what could otherwise be a super cute and fun place to stay.

Stayed Aug 14, 2021Although it is great to be able to walk to the beach, this cottage is dirty and in disrepair. We felt misled by the reviews of this house and want to share the experience that we had. The overall feel of the house is old, dusty and grimy. Stained walls, paint peeling, and thick dust on furniture. We did not find the cottage to be as represented in the listing. The house is listed as sleeps 10 but there are only 4 kitchen chairs, not enough glassware or spoons. The “newly renovated” kitchen is in disrepair. None of the cupboards closed properly and many were not clean inside. The trash door is hanging off its hinges. Promised hammock broken. Back door doesn’t open with key, screen falls out of track constantly. Front door screen has holes for crickets and mosquitos to go through. We’ve since looked at other homes in the area at the same price point. We were right to have expected much more from this property.
