A LITTLE HISTORY
Strolling Woods began as the 1800s Colby Farm, and the original blacksmith shop still stands on the grounds. In 1938 railroad president George Alpert made it his family's summer estate, Willenrica, named for his three sons. His youngest, Richard Alpert, became Ram Dass, author of Be Here Now, and in 1969 he built his ashram on this land.
