New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

Towering above untouched marshland and the coastline of the Pamlico Sound, Oak Dunes, custom-built by a local Frisco builder in 2012, stands tall, nestled amongst the trees of the maritime forest in Frisco. Located off of HWY 12, this secluded palace features a private boardwalk and dock, a pool, a hot tub, and a theater room.

Some new additions include a new 120-inch theater screen, new mattresses and toppers, leather furniture in the great room and the theater room, fast WiFi 6 throughout the house, an outdoor shower, a new GE Profile dishwasher, a new standalone icemaker, new outside loungers and two new sets of washers/dryers.

The house provides the best of both worlds: private access to the sound for kayaking or fishing and a location within an easy walk of the ocean beach. With about 5,500 square feet of living space and 2,300 square feet of decks, this home offers enough space for everyone in your group.

The entrance of the home is custom-built around its natural surroundings. Long benches rest under the shady Oak trees creating a perfect spot to relax and read a good book. A walkway extends around the left side of the home for direct access to the private pool and hot tub area. There is a picnic area and a swim-up tropical bar with seats in the pool. From the pool area, a private elevated boardwalk extends through the marshland towards the sound to a dock on the canal. The abundance of nature and endless views from this sanctuary is hard to match anywhere on the Island.

You will likely spend most of your time in the first-floor entertainment room. With a pool accessible through sliding glass doors, this is an easy place to cool off and hang out without missing any action. There is comfy furniture, a large TV to watch your favorite team, a pool table, a card table, and a full kitchenette equipped with a fridge and dishwasher. The theater room can also be found here and has a massive TV with leather stadium seating. Moving up to level two, you will find a double set of washers/dryers.

At the top of the stairs, an expansive great room awaits. The well-equipped kitchen is full of stainless steel appliances, an island with an extra sink, a breakfast bar, and, last but not least, a gorgeous view of the Pamlico Sound for you to enjoy as you prep your favorite recipe. Drenched in a nautical theme, the living and dining areas sit underneath a high vaulted ceiling and are surrounded by windows that provide a jaw-dropping panoramic view of the dock, creek, marshland, and sound. The leather furniture there only adds comfort while lounging. Dinner with the family as the sun sets is an absolute treat!

Take a trip up to level four with your morning coffee to check out the sunrise from the tower office with an ocean view. This is a perfect place to get your morning going and check your inbox!

The main suite sits on the top level. As the double doors swing open, you will find the elegant and spacious vanity bath to the right with a walk-in shower, jetted tub, and private balcony. To the left is a bedroom with a large TV, access to a private balcony facing the ocean, and a private deck with endless views of the sound and Highway 12 winding into Hatteras Village. There are two more spacious main bedrooms with TVs and access to the second-level deck; one also has a private balcony. The ground-floor bedroom has a full bathroom, a TV, and access to the first-level deck. One guest bedroom two has a walk-in shower, a TV, and a private balcony off the front of the home. Another may be perfect for the kids, with two pyramid bunks, a full bathroom, a TV, and deck access. All beds feature new Sealy Posturepedic mattresses for a truly blissful sleep.

Oak Dunes is spacious, loaded with top-notch amenities, and offers views out of this world. Perfect for your next family vacation or event, make your next Hatteras Island escape to Oak Dunes in Frisco!

We have stayed at this home several times before and rebook because of its large size which comfortably sleeps our ever growing family. It is close to the beach which has bathrooms and showers, or a bit further down is beach access with tidal pools for kids. The house is well equipped with plenty of cook wear and implements, the gathering areas are spacious, comfortable and accommodates everyone easily. The pool and hot tub are very nice with plenty of loungers.

This would have been 5 stars if the place wasn't so dirty & run down .We had to wash every dish & pan before we used them as well as the fridge ,stove & microwave. The floors in the game room were so filthy that you had to wear socks in them and we found a pile of toenail clippings on the couch. The views were breathtaking and made up for the fact that if you looked down you saw garbage off of every balcony that was made up of tossed cigarette butts, bear cans and such. It's obvious that housekeeping comes & does a basic check and replaces linens but not much more. Most of TVs & appliances are hanging on their last legs and need to be replaced as more than half did not work. In my opinion if you are charging that much for a home listed with so many amenities then you should see to it that the home is clean and the amenities work. All that said it's impossible to have a bad time there as the views are spectacular and the town offers much to do.

I first want to mention how WONDERFUL Robert with Vacasa is. He was very helpful and always available to answer any questions. I would highly recommend Vacasa. The house was perfect for my family. We had exactly 14 people and it accommodated us nicely. We loved the very private setting and sound front for kayaking. The only complaint would be the quality of the mattresses...they could use a little updating.

The house was fine, but arriving Saturday night to not hot water or the ability to cook what a brutal start. Propane tank for the house was empty and nothing was open on Sunday, so it wasn’t filled until mid-morning on Monday. That’s rough with 7 people in the house.

The house is pretty spectacular. Beautiful sound views, enjoyed the dock, and the pool area is one of the best we have had. The home does need some attention however. Mattresses in all bedroom need to be replaced. We never got to enjoy the theater room because the TV did not work. The railing in the top level deck needs repairing (loose). Carpeting in bedrooms could use an update (Stains). I hope that VACASA works out the kinks in the check in process. It was very confusing, even for someone who has been visiting the outer banks for over 30 years. Also, need to have a local contact number, not one overseas.

This house had everything! Pool, hot tub, private dock, large dining area and kitchen. Our family had a wonderful time and made some great lasting memories. Would've given five stars but pool needed maintenance but it took two days to get someone out there and the pool was a mainstay of activity. Since this home is so beautiful, they should spend a little on some upkeep like blinds as an option for the main level, the floors can use a little tlc and the carpet has to be redone. Some small touches would make this an absolute shining star in the OBX.

The sunsets were absolutely stunning. The house and amenities were good, TV's were good but bedroom units may be a little small. The pool was great and some family members used kayaks for fishing, crabbing, and recreation. Public ocean access was nearby. Coming back next year.

This house was amazing on our family vacation. The house is spacious and everyone has their own bathroom. The elevator comes in handy for the elderly and getting heavy luggage to the upper levels. The pool and hot tub worked great definitely glad we got it heated. The dock worked amazing for kayaks as well as our 16ft Skiff bring your own ropes and fender guards. The water in front of the dock is 1-2ft, so it is accessible with a small Skiff. The closest boat ramp that you can use it the Scotch Bonnet. It's $10 to use the ramp, and is about a 2-3 mile drive on the water. The sound is super shallow so a boat with a jackplate is ideal. The fishing is great out in the sound and around the mouth of the canal. Ultimately we had a great time swimming, hot tubing, fishing, boating, kayaking, and cooking out by the pool. This house doesn't really give you many reasons to leave the house. Also with the sunset view you get from the back deck, you will definitely want to be there when the sun goes down.
