Stayed Aug 2, 2025Our family of 6 absolutely loved this house. It has an older OBX feel to it, but it was very clean and comfortable. Our teens loved that the house came equipped with paddle boards and kayaks. The views of the water paired with non stop breezes was top tier. We would absolutely visit again!

Stayed Jul 19, 2025Overall, this was a very lovely stay. We had not been to the Outer Banks before but appreciated that this location isn't terribly close to everything further North as when we did travel that way it was very busy. This location is much more relaxed. Vacasa communicated well and it was nice for the kids to use the Vacasa pool one day. The home is large and as pictured. The views of the sound are incredible. Check out procedures are slightly confusing. There's a paper on the fridge that says one thing, the Vacasa paperwork in the living room with something else, and a third paper near the main floor bathroom telling you to place linens in a tote (laundry basket?). I do like to leave the homes we stay in as clean as possible, so this was not as clear as it could be. Additionally, and this may be because we are used to other VRBOs, so I don't know if this is common here, I really would recommend at least double the towels that are provided. So, if you are a family of 5 staying all week like we did, you may want to bring your own so you aren't doing laundry so much. The home itself could use some updating with minor things (curtains need cleaning, a bookshelf needs reattached to the wall, paint touch ups). That being said, items that a housekeeper would regularly clean were impeccable (fridge, bathrooms, floors, etc.). Check in for us got pushed back an hour for the cleaning team, but this was clearly communicated, and I'd rather wait & have a clean home. Solid 4/5

Stayed Jul 12, 2025House could use a little updating and the condensation drips from the vent in the master bathroom. Otherwise it was very clean and the perfect place. Having the use of kayaks and SUP’s were a great bonus! I would stay here again

Stayed Dec 31, 1969If you are in love with quiet surroundings, a beautiful view, and all you need for a comfortable stay for a more than reasonable price, this is your place! If you are looking for a modern, fancy, luxury stay, this is not for you. That being said, our family had such an amazing time bonding over fishing, crabbing, kayaking, and paddleboarding (although the items are old, they are functional). We had wonderful dinners at the large dining table as well as at the kitchen counter together. Cooking was easy as they have just about everything you need to prepare a meal. There is a local market 10 minutes away as well as a Food Lion if you have a large family that needs more choices. Cafe Pamilico is close and has excellent atmosphere, sandwiches and salads. Tavern on12 is close as well and offered decent food for dinner. A few quaint coffee and pastry shops are nearby. There are a lot of steps on this property, so please consider this if you have an older person with you. The house easily sleeps 7 people. The air conditioning works quite well, we were very comfortable sleeping at night. Other than the furniture and decor being outdated, this house was lovely! We kayaked and paddle boarded quite easily up and down the water alleys of the neighborhood. We walked across the street to the west side to take amazing pictures of the sunset. Off-roading on the beach, Laying in a kayak on the sound, Coffee on the deck and the morning air, and sounds of fish jumping and birds singing were reinvigorating and just what this working mom needed! I would recommend this place to a friend or family. For those who want to do more nightlife or jetskiing etc.. I recommend further north for the OBX. But for those who wish for some quiet R&R as well as easy access to the Ferry to Okracoke or fishing trips, this is it and this home was the perfect stay for us.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I have stayed in many homes on Hatteras Island. This is the first one that felt homey and comfortable. The living room area was a great cozy gathering area. The kitchen was functional. I was able to actually cook all the meals. The grill outside was perfect! The views are wonderful. It is a perfect little piece of the island. I can’t wait to stay here again.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The view/location is amazing, we had a great time, it was great having kayaks and stand up paddle boards to use. Unfortunately the dishwasher was filled with dirty dishes when we arrived, but other than that all else was fine.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We loved the location on the water, and the views from almost anywhere in the house. My grandkids enjoyed the games. The issues we had were nothing horrible. Just some tweaks. When you drive up you assume you should go upstairs to the front door that you can see, however that door doesn't have the electronic lock so you have to go back down and up another staircase. Not major, but annoying. The kayaks and paddleboards would have been great, but there were no child size life vest so we couldn't use them. Two out of three burners on the grill don't light automatically. Fortunately we had matches and got it lit, however the temperature is impossible to control. On the lowest setting it jumped from 250 degrees to 550 degrees in less than two minutes. We had hockey pucks instead of hamburgers. Thr refrigerator froze everything on the top shelf even though it was set as recommended. The freezer had a thermometer in it that ranged from negative 10 to positive 40 with ice melting and dripping. These are all minor things, but they make the stay a little aggravating. Overall we liked the house alot and would love it if these things were addressed.

Stayed Nov 20, 2023The layout of the house is cozy with an open floor plan. It was perfect for us. The house might have been one of the cleanest houses we have stayed at in the OBX. The house was well maintained. The dock was very nice as well. The seating was comfortable. We also enjoyed the open views on the water side.
