Thank you for your interest in Camp Willow and our rustic cabins! We want to make all guests fully aware that Camp Willow is located on Lake Dunlap, where the dam collapsed 2 years ago, we are now a "river" type setting. We did build a floating dock for you to share with the guests that are renting the 3 other cabins. We also have 2.5 acres of cottonwood trees to sit under and a fire pit to hang out around! You still have access to the " river", so bring your kayak, fishing rod, stand up paddle board or just a float to float around!
It is a very quiet, peaceful neighborhood setting-away from all the crowds.
Our Camp House is a casual lake house. It is the original farmhouse built on the property that I have renovated but it is still a quaint, eclectic house. We are pet friendly. It is 3 bedroom/2 bath and sleeps 10 people. It includes a wonderful deck on the front that overlooks the water, patio furniture, bbq grill. Washer and dryer in house. House is fully furnished with all bed & bath linens and kitchen utensils/dishes/pots/etc. Nicely decorated in a nautical/fishing motif. Comfortable and rustic casual.
We are located within 5-10 minutes of Schlitterbahn, the Comal River, the Guadalupe River, Gruene Hall and Wurstfest.
A great place for families and reunions. We have a launching ramp on site so bring your jet ski's or boat.
Also 2 cottages (sleep 6each)
We also have the Red house that sleeps 8.
So the entire property can sleep 38.

The location of the property was perfect close to almost everything that we needed.
Great family style stay. Beautiful location and east to get to. Very quiet neighborhood.
As someone who recently had the pleasure of staying at this lakefront property, I cannot recommend it enough for large families seeking a getaway. Set on two acres of land, the property features four private houses, providing ample space for our family our 16 and our beloved canine companions. We were thrilled to have the entire place to ourselves, ensuring privacy and an undisturbed retreat. The property manager had Fourth of July decorations everywhere and kayaks and tubes were ready to go. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and overall well-maintained condition. The older architecture added a charming touch and creating a cozy atmosphere throughout our stay. Now, let's talk about the main attraction—the breathtaking lakefront setting. Although the dam had collapsed in the past, the water levels have made an impressive recovery, allowing us to enjoy kayaking and swimming once again. The joy of being able to kayak on the tranquil waters again was enjoying. We have stayed here for family trips in the past and seeing the lake back was exciting and can only look forward to more lake improvements to come. What truly sets this property apart is the exclusivity it offers. No interference from the general public, we had the privilege of enjoying the entire lakefront space to ourselves. It truly felt like our own private slice of paradise, where we could fully immerse ourselves. We will be back.
Older house needs work. No access to the water overgrown and not well kept. No floating dock as depicted. It will be better I guess when the lake is full again.
The house had bug beds, everyone got bit and had to fumigate our belongings. The house could have been nice, but it was failing apart. Almost like they wanted to renovate but quit midway. House was pretty dirty too. Dead bugs everywhere. Definitely not worth the price. I’m not one to write reviews especially not bad ones or really care but this was a complete disappointment.
We had a wonderful stay. All of our adult children and their kids want to make this a manual stay. The property outside was perfect for kids to run and play, plenty of shade to find during the day. House had plenty of beds, and kitchen well stocked.
We’ve stayed at a number of rentals over the years and had really good success. Unfortunately we were disappointed with this cabin for several reasons. There was a musty smell upon entering the cabin. The pictures did not show the bedrooms didn’t have doors, and that you had to enter one bedroom to get to another bedroom. The primary bedroom didn’t have curtains on the windows so no privacy and too much light in the early morning. The 2nd kitchen table was missing which would have been a problem if we had all 9 family members as intended, but 3 got sick and could not come so 1 table was sufficient At dinner on night 1, we discovered lots of sugar ants invading our dinner at the kitchen table. We opened the dishwasher only to find a horrendous mildew smell. The dishwasher definitely needs to be replaced. We were also disappointed with the 2 tv’s in the cabin. The one in the living room was so small and the one in the primary bedroom did not work at all. We couldn’t believe the caulking job throughout the cabin as it looked like a kindergartner’s work. The outdoors was nice except you could not see the lake for the trees that have grown in the lake since the dam broke. We made the most of the situation and enjoyed our family time; however, I would not return to rent this cabin.
Upon arrival was greeted by the house cleaning lady. She was friendly enough. She showed us around and pointed out where things were located. The place was not very clean. The floors were very dirty and the dishes were even worse. The furniture is very dirty as well. They was rat poo in the bottom cabinets where the pots and pans are. Most of the pans were EXTREMELY dirty and had rust on them. The refrigerator didn't cool at all..... This was very frustrating because we had cupcakes for our party and groceries that needed to be in the refrigerator. I did message them and let them know and asked if they could provide a cooler. They never responded. The pictures are very very deceiving... However the property was very nice and was located in a perfect location. They stayed in contact with me (until I messaged about the fridge) and even let me check in 2 hours early and only stay one night instead of 2. The house was large enough for our party and we had a nice time. As for returning I will not.
When booking, discussed about location and was told 10 min away from floating. This was very inaccurate. This place is about 30 min away for anyone interested. Great place, just wasn’t expecting extra drive after all day on river.
We had a wonderful stay! 6 of us (3 couples) all fit comfortably and spent most of our time on the porch! The kitchen has all of the pots, pans, and utensils. We brought our own spices and seasonings from home. Michaela recommended Rockin R for a shuttle service. They will transport to and from the house BUT you have to make reservations 2-3 days in advance. We had great communication with Michaela all weekend. She answered all of our questions in a timely manner. We would definitely stay here again!
