The Large Riverfront Yard is shaded by huge Cypress, Pecan, Cedar Elm, Monterrey Oak, and Live Oak trees, and is perfect for outdoor gatherings, especially with the Group Seating Areas and the Large Stone Fire-Ring (Firewood and Fire-Starters Provided and plenty of lightweight Adirondack Chairs for gathering around). We have Outdoor Dining Areas, both on the Upper Deck and the Lower Patio, with 3 Tables and 16 Chairs. There are also Lightweight Adirondack Chairs stacked on the Downstairs Patio that can be moved anywhere, including the yard, table-side, and even into the shallows of the Guadalupe River for cooling off.

A Large Combination Off-Set Grill/Smoker is located on the Downstairs Patio, facing the Guadalupe River, with Self-Starting Charcoal, Firewood, Barbecue Tools, and plenty of Spices and Rubs provided. Additionally, a Large Propane Grill is located on the Upper Deck, facing the Guadalupe River and closest to the Kitchen, with an Extra Propane Tank (under the Kitchen Sink), Barbecue Tools, and a Full Spice Rack in the Kitchen.

Very comfortable house. The kitchen was very well stocked with things needed for cooking and plenty of paper goods. We enjoyed the front porch and back deck. Plenty of shade trees. Lots of deer in the mornings and evenings.

We loved celebrating an 85th birthday with our entire family. This is a beautiful home in a very scenic area. The hosts have thought of everything to make our stay perfect! Our family’s ages ranged from 3 months to 85 years. Thank you a great time!

Our family of multiple generations aging from 3 to 78 had a wonderful time. Excellent communication by the owners. The house was very clean and a great location. All the amenities you would need in the kitchen as well. Tons of tubes, kayaks, floats etc. We enjoyed using the outdoor bbq pit as well. The kids and I loved the kayaks and the independence that gave them. They had a pre-made bonfire as well and extra wood for the other nights. We saw tons of wildlife (Deer every morning and evening right int he back yard.) We caught quite a few bluegill right out front. AC worked great, comfortable beds, it was very nice and everyone said we would stay here again. We used Rock N R private tube charter they helped put us in contact with which made pickup and delivery back to the house very easy. The next day we used Rockin R at the Gruene location which was just a mile or so down the road. We really enjoy that float better. More scenic, but you're not supposed to bring cans on that float. Overall, 5 stars and we would book again. Thanks again!

This was our 2nd year to stay at this home. We love the location to the river and to all the fun things to do in the area. My favorite things about the GRUENE River house….They provide all your paper products. They are very responsive to our needs. The cabin is perfect for my husband and I when we need some quiet time. There are enough tubes and kayaks to have a great time on the river. There are plenty of deer to watch and other wildlife.

We were traveling togather for our annual family reunion. We wanted a place where we could all stay together and this place exceeded expectations. The steep driveway is a little bit of a rush, but perfectly navigatable. There were several tables to eat at or play games. We had some confusion about the refrigerator, but the hosts responded quickly and we realized what we were doing wrong, so the issue was resolved.

After looking at the pictures and details listed of this property, multiply all of those things by x10 and that's how the property really is. Wife celebrated her 40th birthday here, and we'll do it again for every birthday going forward. The place has room to accommodate several people, with activities for everyone! Even the ski-in ski-out was better than expected, the house is perfect for anyone celebrating anything. Owners communicated quickly and politely, we will certainly be back!

Our extended family joined us for our daughter’s wedding which took place less than twenty minutes away at The Milestone. This was a perfect location for our family of 23 from infant to seniors. It was private, peaceful, and this nature lovers dream. The house was so well supplied from paper goods to towels and linens. The owners responded to any questions almost immediately. I hope we have another excuse to stay here!

We really enjoyed our stay, especially being right on the river and so close to all the fun in Gruene! The house is very well stocked, from the kitchen to the linens to the tubes and kayaks outdoors. Our kids spent hours and hours in the water. A couple things to note - while there were enough beds for our large group, the room with the bunk beds is not actually a private room, as it must be passed through to get to two of the other bedrooms. Also the game room that doubles as a bedroom is actually the garage and laundry room - it’s great for hanging out but not the best sleeping option. Overall, we were very pleased with the home, as well as the excellent hosts.

The beds and some of the rooms were very disappointing. I believe there were three beds in small closets. The main bedroom #1 had a king, a fold out and a bed in a small closet. Far as I know that room was rated to sleep five in one room. Don't know who that would work for. No one is able to have privacy due to the bathroom configuration. The big TV in the Livingroom did not work. The host tried to get it working but was unable. We had planned to have an extensive slide show as part of a tribute of life for my brother. We were unable to do that. The ice maker was empty when we got there and would only produce a small amount in a day. Due to the bed, bedroom, and bathroom situation two couples decided to find other accommodations. The host was very nice but it comes down to the product. With that I was not pleased. After having stayed there I feel it was greatly overpriced.

I am very picky when I choose a property to stay at. This house goes above and beyond one of the best I have ever stayed in. We had a large family and there was something for all the kids to do. Fishing, kayaking, tubing, and swimming are just a few. We visited schlitterbaun and Landa Park which is a hidden gem. Supplying all the paper goods was icing on the cake. I give this property a a 5++++ rating. My grandkids thought it was the best hide and seek house they’ve ever been in! I would definitely stay at the GRUENE River and cabin again. On a side note the cabin was great for this tired Pop and Mimi.
