Place was incredible, we had a great stay

My sister and I had a wonderful writing retreat at the House of the Ocean Sun. The house was clean, beautifully decorated, and cozy. The view was spectacular. We hope to return again soon!

Our stay at this vacation rental was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how spotless the home was and by the incredible attention to detail throughout the space. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and clearly explained, making our stay effortless and stress-free. We’ve never stayed in a vacation rental where instructions were so well laid out and where the home was so well stocked with absolutely everything we needed.The hosts were incredibly welcoming, which made us feel right at home. And the view—simply breathtaking. Watching orcas swim by right outside the living room windows was an unforgettable experience and something we’ll always treasure.This was an outstanding stay in every way, and we would absolutely stay here again without hesitation.

Home was unique. We loved the design. The internet and WiFi was not good. We suffered through okay. Had a great time.

The house was in a good location. However, the furniture in the main living was well used, sat very low making it hard to get up and down.

Place was nice for the 3 of us. However, if you have a child that is younger than 5 it may be challenging given the layout. Had everything that we needed and amazing views.

Fabulous! From the location, the decor, the views, this is paradise. Just so we could enjoy the deck with the million dollar view we would pick up takeout so we could enjoy time at the house. Our days were filled with hiking and biking and exploring the islands.

We had a dream stay here and would love to return in the future.

The property and its setting is excellent. The location surrounding the home is in desperate tree trimming as it relates to fire and debris. Our only complaint would be the very narrow and steep spiral staircase that takes you to the master bedroom. This home was well worth the expense and hope to revisit again in the future. The owners obviously invested a lot into this home making it a place where you can connect with peace and tranquility! The views speak for themselves and it’s a convenient location to Friday Harbor. Thank you for a wonderful week in paradise!

The home had everything we needed. We absolutely loved the chairs overlooking the views. Complete peace for our small family. Our teens loved the hammocks and many nooks to cozy up in to read! We appreciate all the “labeled directions” around the house. But they almost made the home feel like student dormitory. As we were preparing to leave at 10am, I‘m assuming one of the staff member arrived and just sat in the car waiting for us to leave. We weren’t rushed in any way, but it didn’t feel like silent service for such a splendid accommodation.

It was the most incredible view and stay. The view is unparalleled and the house beautifully updated. We sat in the hot tub while watching the sunset and were lucky enough to witness orcas diving in the sea….truly magical!!

The house has stunning views, and we couldn't get enough of watching the water and the eagles flying by the house. The bed and bedding were extremely comfortable, and the property is very quiet. Best sleep I've had in ages! The house is in perfect condition, incredibly clean, and everything is thoughtfully and clearly labeled. The location was great, and we were happy to be close to Friday Harbor but not in the touristy chaos of Friday Harbor. Please note that you need to climb up a spiral staircase to get to the primary bedroom (this was not a problem for us, but it might be for guests with mobility limitations). We absolutely loved this property - I would live permanently in this house if I could!

We have been to San Juan five times and this is my favorite place to stay. Great house, great set up, great location.

We loved every minute of our stay in Friday Harbor. The home was beautifully maintained and perfect for our time on SJI. The view is incredible, a perfect way to start and end your day. We saw eagles, owls, deer, river otters and various birds in our short time at the property. The close proximity to Friday Harbor is perfect, close but far enough to feel secluded. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable stay while exploring all that SJI has to offer.

There were only 6 forks to use and no teaspoons. The other items of note were the house was not ready when we arrived at 3:53 and the cleaner acted annoyed we were early by 7 minutes. The additional item I would note is the home has a spiral staircase to get to the second floor and this is not noted in the description in the listing for this rental. It was fine for our party but if you had any kind of mobility issues it might be a challenge. I wish the weather had been a tiny bit more in our favor as this house has amazing decks and doors that open wide to enjoy the deck and views. I would highly recommend this home if you are coming to the San Jaun Island for a visit. Thanks for the wonderful place to stay and the memories. Cheers!

Put this on your bucket list! While everyone stages their property for the photos, this may be the one property that is anti-staged! The House of the Ocean Sun absolutely exceeds the amazing pictures and write-up in every way. Views are epic. The property is immaculately maintained and the kitchen is fully equipped—it even has an espresso machine that converted us away from pods. This beautiful property made a very special trip for us worry free. Thank you to the hosts for making this possible.

My wife and I spent a week at this amazing property. The views are stunning. We saw dolphins, deer, and whales all from deck. Easy to get to and private.
