Stayed Nov 26, 20255-Star Stay! Beautiful Place with Room for Improvement on AmenitiesWe had an absolutely wonderful and memorable stay for Thanksgiving! This property is truly beautiful, the setting is amazing, and we had a fantastic 5-star experience overall. We definitely hope to return, possibly this summer! The location is perfect for a family getaway, and we greatly enjoyed having access to the grill and spending time in the area. The place was spacious and very comfortable for our group. However, we did notice a few maintenance issues that need attention to ensure a perfect stay for future guests:Watercraft: We were able to use the jon boat briefly (we named it the Titanic due to a significant water leak!), and only one kayak was safe to use; the other water toys need inspection.Recreation: The bikes were very rusted (though workable), and a working air pump is needed. We also found the gaming arcade needing some attention, and the hockey table was missing a puck.Pests: There was an ant issue on the bunk beds (specifically the middle one closest to the room), which should be addressed by pest control.Kitchen: It would have been helpful to have the correct grill tools available for use.Despite these minor issues, we had a magnificent time and highly recommend this place. With a little maintenance on the amenities, it would be absolutely perfect! Thank you for a great vacation!

Stayed Oct 10, 2025This is our second fall at Pelican Point as it won the grandchildren's vote. Despite a tropical depression, king tides and high winds, our family still had a great time. The space allowed us to spread out and we had board games and movie marathon during the worst of the weather. Other times it was the beach and fishing on the dock. The covered dock acts like a third living space even with a light rain. Wildlife sightings were thrilling and kayaks were fun on the first day. Mindy is a gracious and helpful host. Abundant towels plus two laundry areas made it easy to keep up with wet things after experiencing a very windy and wet beach. The kitchen is well equipped and there are two refrigerators for a crowd to use. This is a quiet canal street where bikes were safely used, a great water views and a yard for children to play in. Despite the sense of seclusion, shopping, restaurants/coffeeshops and the beach access is very close.

Stayed Jun 7, 2025Very pleased with this property. Clean, spacious and absolutely perfect. Literally the only thing I would change is that there is no interior access from downstairs. Kids stayed downstairs and had to come outside to come upstairs which wouldnt be terrible but it stormed several times and kids felt a bit isolated since they had to come out in the weather to get upstairs. Otherwise the place was an absolute dream.

Stayed Feb 20, 2025Pelican Point lived up to its name. We had a great time sitting on the dock and watching the wildlife. Herons, gulls, kingfishers, pelicans and dolphins all visited the canal and marsh behind the house. The sunsets were amazing as well. The property had everything we needed for a comfortable visit from the kitchen to the bedrooms and living space. We spent the majority of our time outside on the deck in the Feb/March sun.

Stayed Oct 10, 2024Pelican Point looks exactly like the picture here, which is the loveliest view we have ever had. The house was exceptionally clean and had all the right appliances. The house was very clean and had The entire family lived on the dock during out stay. Fishing and crabbing were not the best this time of year but no one seemed to mind because we were bird watching or relaxing. We used the kayaks and the bikes. It was a short drive to the beach access and the beach in that location is wonderful. Due to the high cost of parking in Surf City the kids utilized the bikes and the adults either walked or did a drop off (it was only a 5 min ride to the beach). There is a lot to do nearby but the town(s) retain the 'old beach community' feel. This is well suited to a smaller group of adults with a large number of kids as most of the beds are bunks. The separate lower level made it nice. The owners were kind and accommodating to use when we had an emergent situation and we appreciated that very much.

Stayed Sep 15, 2024Loved having a dock and water access right outside the back door. My husband was able to fish anytime he wanted to. The house was well stocked. Our dog loved walking around in the marshy grass. The golf cart made it easy to get around and go to the beach. Will definitely stay again.
