Stayed May 10, 2025Like I said, very Nice location, but a quite shallow in front of the house if you're trying to put in there for any reason. Same for beach, though at far end there is a chanel.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The owners constantly observe the multiple security cameras on the property and call Vacasa to pick apart things you’re doing. Absolutely no privacy and ruined our week long trip. In addition, the kitchen is poorly stocked (knives dull, cookware worn). The view is great. The TV is great. The sound access may be changing soon as the property is going up for sale. Our experience will Vacasa was great. The home owners not so much.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Great location, beautiful sunsets! Unfortunately, the house is showing its age. Sliding door to deck from great room, also bedroom are very hard to use, if not impossible. Upon arrival we found TV not working due to satellite problems, we were unable to watch a program in its entirety. We were staying for 3 weeks. We reported problem to Vacasa and was told the owner did their best but it couldn’t get service for 2 days after we left. (23 days). The owners were very nice and tried but no help. They compensated us with a gift certificate to a local business, but Vacasa was NO help at all. Called and reported an issue with aggressive bees, and never got a call back. Supposedly, ant problem was fixed, but were all over the place.

Stayed Jul 22, 2023The home itself was absolutely wonderful. It is evident that the owners truly want their renters to have a great vacation. The property management, Vacasa, on the other hand ruined our family vacation. In addition to the lack of cleanliness (beds unmade, comforters filthy, dog hair everywhere, used bar soap in the shower, and piles of swept up dirt/hair/sand), within 24hrs of arrival, we received two calls from Vacasa with complaints of occupancy and smoking-which were inaccurate and false. We asked for clarification on where they were receiving this information-as we noticed several cameras on the property-and were told that neighbors were reporting this. This was an absolute invasion of our privacy, especially considering my children were being watched.

Stayed Apr 22, 2023My husband and I spent our 11th anniversary week at the Hazy Sunset overlooking the sound. From the evening we arrived, the sunsets were gorgeous and even on a few cloudy days, the sky was still beautiful. We spent a great deal of time out on the deck (even if it was a little chilly a few days) - especially enjoying our morning coffee. We saw a variety of birds (one particular diving duck that would disappear for over a minute), deer over on the marsh and a stingray swimming next to the shore. A small sailboat was anchored for a few days offshore which made for some nice photos and we also saw people walking far out into the sound to fish which was very interesting. We were also treated to a few powerful storms and it was cool to sit on the deck and see the lightning in the distance coming across the sound. (We DID go inside when we felt it was getting too close.) Our 10 year old dog joined us. He doesn't do well on a lot of stairs, so having the short steps into the garage and only a few steps out to the road was nice. His favorite place to walk (when we didn't go to the beach) was down the trail next to the property to the little sandy beach on the sound. He enjoyed wading in the water there and hanging out on the deck with us. It would be helpful to put a baby gate on the entrance to the covered porch so wandering dogs and kids can stay put. We moved a few things around on the covered porch to keep our dog from wandering off. We had a great time biking, flying a stunt kite at the beach (it was really windy a few days), walking the nature trail at Buxton Woods (just gorgeous), visiting the Native American museum (artifacts from all over the US - very cool place) and we took a guided kayak tour with Julia at Slash Creek Outfitters in Hatteras Village. She was super knowledgeable of the area. After all the activity, the hot tub was just awesome and we slept well! We loved the house and the location. It was very private. Hoping to visit again soon!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The view and home are spectacular, but the house was filthy upon arrival. Basically, we had to clean the home our first day of vacation and put the bed linens on all of the beds. There were multiple light bulbs that needed replaced, specifically in a bathroom off from the guest bedroom; my mother did not have working lights in her bathroom. I actually called management on Tuesday (7/26) and was told that someone would be there later that day. No one showed all week long. This is completely unacceptable.
