What a wonderful find! The river cottage is in a gorgeous, peaceful setting on Halls River. When we arrived, a feeling of calm came over both my friend and I while sitting by the river, just watching the turtles and fish slowly swim by, and that is exactly what we both needed. Although I didn't see a lot of wildlife on my excursion, kayaking down the river to explore the scenery was easy and equally soothing. The cottage is clean and extremely well-stocked with kitchen and bath supplies. Both beds were soft and comfortable, which is always a plus for us, and there was plenty of storage room in the closets and dressers. Having various streaming channels available on the TV made for restful evenings watching favorite shows. Since the cottage is located right off the highway, it's easy to get to local attractions, restaurants and stores. We enjoyed the nearby manatee tour and the snorkel float down Rainbow River, both of which were only 10 minutes from the cabin. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, family friendly retreat.

This is an amazing house. Very spacious, peaceful and beautiful. They provide kayaks which makes going up and down the cannel so much fun. My son and husband loved fishing out back. The house is decorated so that it just makes you smile wherever you turn around. We have suggested this property to friends and family. thank you so much to the helpful owners who provided suggestions for restaurants.

The property was scenic, and had a great location. Everything is clean and up-to-date. The kitchen is fully stocked. The beds are comfortable. In addition to cable, Netflix is available. We loved our stay and will be back!

The location is very convenient with access to multiple activities nearby. We would love to stay here again on our next trip to the area.

Loved our stay. Close to everything. Nice and clean. Had everything I needed even stuff I forgot like a lunch bag to pack sandwiches. Loved kayaking and fishing from the backyard. They had plenty of kayaks and we brought own fishing gear. Really clean and loved the decor. Beds were comfy too

From the moment you open the front door and are met by the sunlight steaming through the large windows facing an expansive backyard sloping down to a shimmering canal with an array of colorful kayaks propped on its bank, you know this place is special.

The place was beautiful. Clean. And while it was too cold to enjoy the water, it was nice to walk to the backyard to see it. The host, btw was delightfully non-intrusive with a minimum of check-in and check-out instructions. They responded quickly and concisely. We use VRBO ALOT and are learning to appreciate the owners who are trusting and not demanding with side contracts, impractical restrictions… anyway, I digress: nice house, good location, good hosts.

This is the best VRBO stay we have ever had. The host was exceptional. The house is amazing and so incredibly clean. We had excellent communication, they provided great recommendations, and were so thoughtful throughout our stay. We were able to get out and use the kayaks and enjoy the natural surroundings. It was so nice to have so many to choose from. We did see a few manatees swim right by in the morning. We are truly going to miss this home when we leave. And hope to visit again the future. Every inch of the space is comfortable and being right on the water was such a treat. It also appears to have the nicest view in this area. Top notch and a bit more high end with amenities and furnishings than most. You cannot go wrong with this place.

The host made our stay incredibly easy, enjoyable, and so much fun! She communicated with us any time we had a question and gave us some amazing suggestions regarding things to do. The home is so cute and was a perfect safe location for us to have fun and fish! This adventure was one that we will not forget! If you are considering a beautiful location for your stay, pick this one!

This was an absolute gem of a find! From the incredibly comfortable beds to the spacious and beautifully designed living area, everything was perfect. The highlight, without a doubt, was the stunning riverfront setting—our family made unforgettable memories here.Manatees visited us each morning as we enjoyed coffee in the backyard, and they even swam alongside us during a kayaking adventure. Our boys had the time of their lives fishing right from the yard and reeling in bass after bass.The host was fantastic—patiently answering all my questions and sharing excellent recommendations for local restaurants and an exciting, educational airboat tour.We’re already counting down the days until we return! Highly recommend this slice of paradise.

The Halls River was amazing. The house was just what we wanted great. Joanne was a lovely host!

Kitchen and other spaces were great. Kayaks, canal access was super nice too. Nice little neighborhood. Great comm from owner. Pet covers were great idea.

This is an excellent property! Beautiful home right on a creek. Fed fish in the back yard. Kayaks provided. Kitchen was well stocked. Home is newly renovated. Clean and nicely decorated. Comfortable beds. Plenty of parking. Home is located in perfect spot to see everything in the area. Would not change a thing. Host is amazing and communication was excellent. We will be back. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Halls River Retreat! The house was spotless, well-equipped, and the host was incredibly responsive and helpful.The home is beautifully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed.The river was clear, cool, and peaceful. Kayaks are launched from the boat-slips in the backyard. We saw all kinds of fish swimming by, a family of river otters at play, and a beautiful eagle flew overhead.We also enjoyed fishing right from the backyard and caught bass and mangrove snappers.Our stay was everything we had hoped for and more!Highly recommend!

Sadly Hurricane Helene flooded the property. Owner and Vrbo were very prompt with info and refund. Will try again !

This is one of our favorite places to stay. Plenty of parking, clean and Joanne is a great hostess! This home is roomy and the AC works great. We will definitely be back!

We had a fabulous time in this tranquil cottage! Joanne really goes out of her way to be sure the guest has a great experience. Upon arrival it was very clean and all the essentials present. We were traveling with our pets and they were so happy to play in the fenced backyard. We also took a trip on the river with the kayaks. It was a really hot day and we meet some local folks who parked their boats for a swim or float in the shallows. We would love to stay again!
