Nice and cozy
We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin on Anderson Island! Beautiful property and location. Could not have asked for anything better.
What a great place for a family getaway. The house was clean, tidy and cozy warm. The towels were thick and plush. The property is gorgeous and the beach …. Best on Anderson Island. GREAT firepit on the lawn near the water with plenty of wood and sturdy chairs. All around 5-star rating. We will definitely be staying on Penny Lane again!
We rented this place for our mini honeymoon. It was nice and so peaceful. There wasn't anyone around, which is what we were hoping for. All 3 nights we stayed, we had 5 deer and tons of geese that made it that much more serene. The dining room, kitchen, and bedroom, and deck face the water. We kayak to eagle Island and saw a ton of seals showing off and playing. There was an eagle right above us in the tree in the beach. There is a beautiful beach shore, right around the corner from the ferry, but far enough where it wasn't in sight. It's about 1/2 mile from the ferry. The original address is in correct. Google maps took us in a very different direction. When we reached out to the owner at 9pm, he responded very quickly by phone and gave us a different address. The father in law lives in cottage #1 and came over and welcomed us with a bottle of wine. The place was pretty clean overall. Very roomy and good energy. They provide general plates, bowls, cups, pots and pans, silverware, toaster, dishwasher, Keurig and K-cups, bath towels. All the sheets and comforter is white. There is a quiet washer and dryer is the first far room. Only 1 stand up shower, but that was fine for us. Beautiful peaceful deck, lawn, fire pit, kayaks and life vests provided. Overall our stay was a great experience. This was our first time in Anderson Island. There's also a map of trails, at the only grocery store. There's a cafe and restaurant to eat. Otherwise, I would advise to get groceries before coming to the island. Things are definitely more expensive on the island. I recommend this place for kids as well. My husband said we might even come back in the future with our kids.
Quiet, peaceful, scenic place. Comfortable. There is a big lawn, we were provided s,mores fixins and had a campfire and made them. There are kayaks if you want to do that. You can see Olympic mountains to the west, Mt. Rainier and Cascades to the east, McNeil is right across the passage. Great place for your Anderson Island stay!
The gorgeous beach and water access as well as beautiful property made this stay amazing. The house was clean and simple, equipped with a washer/dryer and dishwasher. My kids (4&7) loved kayaking, watching seals, daily visits from the deer and nightly smores -- you couldn't ask for more!
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway on Anderson Island. The property itself is unbelievable with immediate access to the water and views. The owner/host was incredibly responsive and my family and I would highly recommend!
Really appreciated the property manager’s communication with us about our stay! Was a lovely spot with water access, the kayaks were a great plus. Warm, clean and comfortable place to relax inside, or out on the deck near the apple trees. Nice to be so close to the ferry (less than 5 minutes). Fun DVD selection! The kitchen amenities were ok, could use some upgraded cookware, knives, etc., and wish there was a non-Keurig coffee maker option. Walls a little thin if you are a light sleeper, FYI, but was not a problem for us.
What a wonderful place to stay that is close enough to Seattle, yet far enough to feel worlds away. The property had stunning views, a fire pit, kayaks and a great outdoor eating area. The house itself was clean, nicely decorated and had just what we needed to make our home cooked meals. We saw seals and eagles and even found live oysters washed up on the shore. The owner was responsive and accommodating, I highly recommend staying here.
There were quite a few red flags for me personally. Though this property may be quaint for some, this was not the getaway we were expecting. To start, the address provided on through booking IS NOT THE ADDRESS of the property. After we ended up 2 hours east on ANOTHER island, we found our way to Anderson Island, reached the owner who then sent us the correct address (it was changed years ago but never updated on Google Maps, Apple Maps or even Waze.) We lost a whole day & was not offered a late check-out, so please confirm the correct address with owner before driving! Unfortunately, the place was NOT cleaned by any means. There were crumbs on the counter and floor (pics), the toilet had brown and yellow smears along the side and front (pics avail), the couch was so stained we had to lay a sheet down. We could not use the light in the kitchen because it was flickering heavily (video avail). We understand that not everyone is as COVID cautious, but we had to drive to the only store to buy Lysol, wipes and bleach just to feel sanitary for our stay. We reached out to the owner to ask if they had garbage bags, paper towels and batteries for the TV remote control. He responded that he would check with the cleaner. Then about 45 mins later, a man in a truck pulls into the very dark driveway with no warning. We are two young woman alone on a remote island. The man said he was the boyfriend of the cleaner, who was walking around the house to give us one roll of paper towels. We were scared to open the door in the pitch black to a random man. The whole thing was bizarre and unsettling. We never got batteries for the TV remote (the whole weekend was centered around movie night). We spent the better half of our trip cleaning. If you are expecting a waterfront property, chances are you will be in one of the trailer homes inland, as there are 4 trailers in this compound property. We did ask if we could move to the unit closest to the water, as that seemed to be how it was pictured in the Vrbo listing. Unfortunately, it was not available. I was hoping that by reaching out the owner a 3rd time now with concerns, he would ask about our stay or open the door for a conversation that this is the 3rd time we are reaching out unsatisfied with our stay. I should have flat out asked for our money back and we should have left the second we received the correct address. The 1 hr of kayaking on the water was the only fun, but I'm so SO disappointed in the whole thing.
