More infobelow!

We’re available to our guests by email, phone, or text. As longtime locals, we know the neighborhood inside and out and truly care about our community. If you need anything or have questions, just reach out—we’re happy to help!

The Short North Arts District is one of the Midwest’s best kept secrets. There is a huge variety of unique shops, bars and restaurants, and art galleries along High Street and a number of annual events that take place year-round. We have a thorough list of recommendations in the house to local bakeries, cafes, and restaurants.

The Short North is made up of several historic neighborhoods; this home is located in Weinland Park, a cool, urban area on the East side of High St above 5th Ave. Weinland Park still has its edgy, up-and-coming vibe- there is a lot of construction and development still underway, real estate is hot here despite its sometimes worn look. You will see a lot of renovated homes as well as ones not-yet-touched. The neighborhood is home to a mix of young professionals and families. This apartment is in walking distance to High Street and N. 4th Street coffee shops, restaurants, and bars!

IS THE NEIGHBORHOOD SAFE
We live nearby and feel the neighborhood is relatively safe, but it can feel a bit intimidating if you are not use to city living. Please note this is the city- we do have petty crime in the Short North and University area, and always advise to practice not leaving valuables in your car (we have not had any issues at our apartments, I state this because we are in the city) and walk with a buddy at night on well-lit, busy roads such as High Street, Summit, and 5th Ave.

Near the following:
• Restaurants- The Table, Condados, Fox in the Snow, Basil
• Bars & breweries- Seventh & Son, North High Brewing, Brother Drakes
• Grocery stores- Kroger & Giant Eagle Market Fresh (Third Ave, Grandview)
• Fitness gyms- Cross Fit, Short North Fitness, Thank Yoga

Guest Access
You’ll have full access to your side of the duplex as well as the fenced backyard. Please note that the backyard and parking area are shared with the neighboring unit.

Very nice unit within walking distance to High Street! And also within 5-10 minutes to the fairgrounds. Check in process was very easy and our host was super responsive. It’s pet friendly with a fenced backyard so especially nice for our dogs. The unit was clean, nicely decorated and had all the needed supplies in the kitchen. The only caution would be the unit would not be good for those with mobility issues given the number of stairs.

We were in town for my son’s football tournament at the OSU stadium. The house clean, welcoming and exactly like the pictures. The communication with the owner was great. They responded quickly and checked it on us daily. We felt at home and would stay again.

Exterior stairs both front and rear not easily navigable for aging adults. Stairs crooked/uneven, too high to navigate alone. Shower is not slip proof. Bare slate floor is slippery and should have mat or strips to prevent slips/falls.

The beds were super comfy, common spaces were very clean and enjoyable, and the location was very walkable. Only drawback was that some of the doors were a bit noisy/difficult to close

We were in town for a national sports tournament at the convention center. We really like the convenient location- we could easily walk to the convention center and avoid paying the $25/day parking fee there. The house itself looked just like the photos and was very comfortable. Many extra amenities were provided by the host such as coffee, a small snack basket, soap and shampoo, cooking and cleaning basics. The largest bedroom also had a nice desk area that was useful since we had to work remoteIy some of the time. I would have given this stay 5 stars, except that the bed in the largest bedroom was so noisy we couldn't use that room to sleep (luckily we only needed two out of the three bedrooms), and some flooring upstairs was so loose I was afraid to walk barefoot. Also, although this might be expected in a home that is pet friendly, the living room smelled faintly of dog smell but was covered up by a strong air freshener. There was also evidence of a pet stain on the carpet. I don't have a pet so I may be extra-sensitive to these smells and issues, however. If I was a pet owner, I would have really appreciated the towels hanging at each door to clean off your pet before coming in to the house. Although the neighborhood didn't seem perfectly safe (there were signs all over about not leaving valuables in our car, and there had been a major shooting close by just a month before), we never experienced a problem. Overall, would totally stay here again.

Great stay. Lots of places to walk to for lunch. Busy streets at nighttime that get loud.
