Spacious, comfortable, well-appointed town home with generous extras (lots of fluffy towels and even pizzas in the freezer). Great location close to Broad St Market, Capitol, State Museum and Riverpark. Fantastic host, super-responsive.
I have 3 married children and 1 about to get married. To welcome the newest wife to this crazy family, we chose Harrisburg as a central location for the women of the family to get together for some bonding. We came from multiple directions and just gathered in the house the first night. We cooked dinner and all sat in the living room talking all evening. The location is fantastic - right in the heart of a walkable downtown with a selection of restaurants and shops. It was a few blocks from the river walk where some of us walked in the morning and others did their morning run. We stopped at 4 different restaurants to nibble through the day, listen to some live music and ended with a fabulous dinner. Every place we went had a little different personality - but each was wonderful. We enjoyed strolling through the Broad Street Market (note - not open on Sundays). The house had 3 bedrooms with at least 2 beds in each room and 2 full baths (a must with 5 women)! The wifi was down when we arrived but a quick message to the host and he had someone come by and get it back up and running (a thrown breaker) - fantastic experience on the communication and resolution. Coming from multiple directions, we were concerned at first about parking because the place only comes with 1 free parking space. The host was so easy to work with to obtain 2 more passes (small fee). All pre-communication was clear and timely. We will likely come back - some time when City Island and baseball are in full swing. Maybe the Riverboat will run again soon too! Highly recommend.
Nice place overall but minimalistic in nature. Some things weren’t operational but we made do. It does sleep a lot of people but there are only 2 queen beds so when sleeping 5 grown men, the twin mattresses can be a challenge (quite uncomfortable). My biggest complaint was that of the parking. There is on street parking with permitted access only and parking in the complex as well. However, you have the pay the owner for the permit to be able to park in the complex, seems like that should be a part of the deal. Overall a decent stay, second time in the property in the last 3 years.
Required to remove shoes inside the home fine, but clean the floors. Drawers had trash, under the sink there was trash. Bed linens stained with some type of blood looking residue. Poor quality beds, mismatched linens. Ants all over. Who likes to sit and have bugs crawling all over them? toilet seat in upstairs bath completely broken on one side. Outside garbage can overflowing from previous renter and I was expected to bring to the front. Owner not very helpful and rude. Pictures taken of everything and even the way we left the property in case this prompts her to leave my family a bad review. I don’t appreciate the pressure to leave a good review and message them privately about issues. If I had been able to see what this place was really like I would not have rented it for my family. No ac in the upstairs rooms, 90 degree weather made for very hot nights. Again the owner was not very friendly. I’m not sure what the cleaning fee covered. There were a lot of demands to take the trash to the curb, wash towels, etc. not very pleased.
We had a great time. Only 25 minutes from Hersey Park. Parking more than one car is a pain as you have to obtain a permit from city hall. No guest parking unless you have a permit.
It was a good size home and it was in a good location our family loved staying our kids love the games in the basement.
Absolutely a pleasant experience from beginning to end. Entire process was hassle free and the house with all its amenities made the week long stay amazing. Being able to have family in one place made everything so simple.
The four kids in our group enjoyed the game room and staying in the upstairs bedroom together. The two adults were pleased with proximity to the local market and several restaurants. Owner was easy to work with through the whole process!
We had a very comfortable 7-day stay in this spacious and fully-stocked townhouse. It was our first time in Harrisburg and we were a little concerned about the neighborhood when we first arrived however we ended up enjoying the urban environment. The pros included the Broad Street Market and huge bookstore located just one block away. We also enjoyed walking along the riverfront. The cons were occasional panhandlers asking for money when we were out walking and a few late nights we heard loud voices on the street out front. Fortunately the wine store across the street closes early so most nights were fairly quiet. We would not hesitate to stay in this property again.
We really enjoyed our stay. The property was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials. There was plenty of room for the family. The basement was great for the kids to play Foosball while the adults were upstairs. Also, since Harrisburg is mainly on-street parking, the parking space in the parking lot alone is a reason to stay. Thank you for your hospitality. If we are in the area again, we would definitely book this property again.
