We had a wonderful stay. Spacious and sunny house. Large bedrooms and a nice open concept kitchen, dining room, living room. Plenty of room for our family of 6. Very quick walk to the beach. Great location!
House was as advertised if not better and the short walk to the beach was a plus.
We just spent an amazing week at this house. We were two families with 4 total kids ages 6-11. The footpath through the woods to the beach was like an adventure every time, and we were able to pull our wagon on the path. There are 3 flights of stairs, though, once you get to the beach. The bay beach is amazing - swimming at high tide and tidal pools at low tide. Incredible sunsets. The house felt very new (especially for a cape house!) and tidy and fresh - we were happily surprised when we arrived! The screened in porch and bonus cupola room/landing were nice bonuses. We will be back for sure!
The location and cleanliness of this property was above and beyond. The home is extremely comfortable and everyone had plenty of space to spread out and relax. This is our 5th annual trip to the Cape and this house was by far our favorite. The Del Mar staff were awesome in responding to messages and the text messages from the team on check in and out were very helpful! We will definitely look to rent with Del Mar again next year!
My friends and I learned a lot from our first-time VRBO stay on Cape Cod, where home rental practices are quite different from other areas of the country. Few homes on Cape Cod provide linens and bath towels, so this was a selling point for four women flying in from across the country. (Still bring your own beach towels.) Read the fine-print about what is and is not provided in the “starter kit,” which is minimal compared to any other VRBO rental I’ve stayed in. Know before you go, and you’ll have a five-star stay. Pros: * The property managers were quick and helpful responding to my questions before our arrival, and once on site. * We had the info we needed for an easy key-less check-in. * The home is spacious; there was plenty of room for four women to have their own bedrooms and share two full baths, along with the powder room off the kitchen. It’s very easy to see how two families of four would have plenty of room to vacation in this home. * The sun room and outdoor deck were each great spaces to dine or “chill out,” and there were some nice amenities, like the high-quality blue-tooth speaker we could hook up to from our phones with our playlists. * The home is very much off the beaten path, but not too much hassle to drive into town, and it is possible to walk to the nearby beach. * The drive to the National Seashore and to bike rental places near the Rail Trail is pretty quick. Cons: * We didn’t cook any dinners at the home because we never found a conveniently located grocery store to buy fresh vegetables, etc., just small delis or a “suprette” for breakfast-type foods and snack items. Fortunately, most places offer take-out or eat in. Our favorite place: “Local Break.” * The upstairs twin bed mattresses are rather hard; likely fine for kids, but not comfortable for the older adults who slept in them. (The downstairs queen beds were just right.) * With the minimal starter kit in mind, bring/buy coffee filters and napkins, and extra roll of paper towels; only one roll is available. We could’ve used more than just two kitchen towels. Dry condiments are also minimal. Hand soap is provided, but not bath/shower soap. * We had to throw out all the ice in the freezer upon our arrival because a soda pop can left in the ice tray had burst. * Watch out for what looks like poison ivy along the foot path on the way to the beach.
We had an amazing time! The house was absolutely beautiful and very clean. Walking distance to the beach. Check out is a bit early but other than that it was a perfect stay. Will definitely be back.
Being able to walk to the bay beach and watch the sunsets and walk on the beach was perfect.
We had an amazing stay at the property. The home was clean, spacious and well equipped. Well situated within Eastham and a quick walk to thumpertown beach where we spent most of our time. We would love to come back next summer!
This home was immaculate and spacious with a great screened in porch. The layout easily accommodated two families without feeling over crowded and worked well for my in-laws who were on the first floor with an en suite bathroom. The house was well stocked for cooking meals and we enjoyed walking to the beach on the trails. The roads around the house were perfect for biking with a 4, 8, and 15 year old with plenty to explore. Fantastic sunsets at the bay side beach just an easy walk down the road or path!
Great one week stay in Cape Cod. Very spacious and comfortable house. Well located, walking distance to the beach which was perfect for our toddler. There is a path through the woods but it was almost as close to walk on the road. We took a day trip to Provincetown and also did Skaket beach one day, both very easy drives from the house.
