Just a few minutes walk to the village shops, cafes and restaurants. Can see the surf if its worth riding. Large flat section at the back fantastic for cricket, touch and BBQ's. Lots of choice outdoor kiwi activities available, fishing, surfing, diving, kayaking, water skiing, biking, great walks (Karangahake Gorge, Orakawa Bay, Bowentown), and for the kids P

Stayed Jan 7, 2026It’s our tenth year down at Waihi Beach but first time at the bach. Everything was perfect and the bach added to a great holiday enjoyed by our group. Great spot close to beach and the town centre. Huge backyard for games that we played volleyball, croquet, Finska & cricket. Great selection of dvds for the rain day. The owners were really nice and easy to deal with.

Stayed Oct 3, 2025Great old school Kiwi bach. Plenty of room for six adults and two kids. We particularly liked the location (just across the road from the beach), the large backyard, and the rumpus room downstairs.

Stayed Mar 1, 2024Our stay at Matt's bach was fantastic. The bach itself was exactly what we expected, and a fantastic space for a couple of families with young kids to stay. The location couldn't be better, just a block back from the beach and a short stroll into the village. Matt also really looked after us, giving us early check-in and a very late check-out at no extra cost. Can't rate the place highly enough, and are looking forward to staying again!
