Stayed Aug 9, 2025We had a great family vacation here. The house was perfect and the hosts were very friendly and provided plenty of information about the area. The view from their dock was beautiful and the lake was great for swimming and fishing and we even took out the provided canoe. It was absolutely perfect. We also had a lot of fun checking out the local area. Crowley Cheese and Buttermilk Falls were both a great visit and we headed up to the VT fair one of the days and had a lot of fun up there as well. We also had a few relaxing days just swimming and hanging out around the house. We even had a fire at the outdoor fire pit and the hosts provided plenty of fire wood.Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area or just want a secluded get away.

Stayed Jul 13, 2024Giving 5 stars for this perfect, romantic getaway for couples, fun for families too. My wife and I rented this cottage in Mt. Holly for 7 days and we loved it. The house is beautiful, cozy, well-maintained, with stunning views of Lake Ninevah from the big picture windows or back deck. It has privacy, is in a small community, with grocery stores, and restaurants within a short driving distance. The owners Dan and Sandy are considerate and very responsive. They gave clear, detailed instructions from finding the place to cleaning up when leaving. If we had a question, they called us back promptly. The lake is gorgeous!! Great back yard access to the lake! There are 3 access points to the lake from the back yard. Access one is easiest; two steps down to a shallow, wading/sandy area. There is a private dock which is great for sun bathing, fishing, or jumping in for a swim. Third access is like the first, but on opposite side. We spent most days paddling the provided canoe around, swimming, or just sitting out on the deck. We saw a few friendly kayaks, canoes, but still felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves. We had a very hard time leaving, and hopefully will be back. We highly recommend this place. Thank you Dan and Sandy for everything. Definitely worth the 5-star review!

Stayed Aug 12, 2023Our ideal of a lake cottage: it should have direct views of the water; it should feel like a family getaway, not a sterile collection of IKEA furnishings; many comfortable places to read, dock, canoe or kayak, deck, and a feeling of seclusion. We loved Snugglers Cove: quiet, clean, cozy. I had to work 3 of the days we were here, unfortunately, but the wifi was up to it. We played music on the sound system through Bluetooth, and I am sure the video options are great but we just wanted to read, rest and lake. Sandy was extremely responsive. There are many residents in the area but we still felt secluded. Local communities had been terribly impacted by flooding, but Sandy made sure we knew what services were available (and what roads to avoid). We went to the Hannaford in Rutland, an easy 30 min drive (the Shaws in Ludlow was online ordering only), and had a nice outing to Woodstock later in the week. We were serenaded by loons, and slept wonderfully on very comfortable beds. We'd return in a heartbeat!

Stayed Jul 1, 2023Ninevah is sparsely populated. The houses that are there are hard to see even when you are passing by them on a canoe (which is provided). It is completely silent except for the sounds of the ever-present loons and bullfrogs that echo into the night. The lake has the swimming side and the lily pad side (where I saw a moose) so it's the best of both worlds. The house has everything you need. Wi-fi reached out to the dock. Chairs, fans and floats are all included. Sandy was wonderful and always quick to respond. This place is perfect if you are looking to sit in silence and stare at a sunset or listen to the loons away from it all. I highly recommend it.

Stayed Aug 6, 2022Make sure you read the instructions that are sent to you carefully. It was a challenge to get my 10’ enclosed trailer in the driveway but I did (due to single lane road and very tight trees) Wi-Fi is only accessible with in a few feet of the cabin unless you go to the main road. The fencing that is up and not movable to keep the geese out is not ideal for launching kayaks. The dock needs to be more accessible as the rocks leading out to the dock could be hazardous. As far as the cleaning expectations of the renters is that the renter’s clean the entire cabin before they leave. As for the bathroom, yes it is a full bath but I could have put my feet in the tube when I was going to the bathroom. The kitchen, living room, bedrooms and outdoor space where as described. Overall we did have a very nice week long vacation.

Stayed Aug 24, 2019This was our absolute favorite family vacation so far! The property the cottage is on is unbelievably beautiful. It’s nestled in the middle of the woods overlooking the most beautiful crystal clear lake with stunning Mountain Views. The cottage has the perfect sized yard for our 2 kids to run around which gradually leads right into the lake. The cottage is set up perfectly for safety of little ones, the deck has a door/gate so my kids didn’t have access to the lake on their own and our one year old wouldn’t be able to play on the stairs. The dirt road you take to get to the house not only adds to the atmosphere of your vacation but it’s perfect for beautiful nature walks each day. If we had to pin point our favorite parts of the cottage it would have to be the dock and the super fun canoe rides. The stars at night were breathtaking (stand on the dock at night, it’s truly amazing.) Our family never turned on the tv once. If you are looking for relaxing in the most peaceful, beautiful setting and having quality time with your loved ones, this is the cottage for you! This was our first time ever visiting Vermont so we wanted to explore What this beautiful state has to offer. (Vermont is now our favorite state, it has miles and miles of untouched natural beauty and quaint little towns) Some musts would be a quick trip to Woodstock to visit Billings farm, walk around the town of Woodstock and lunch or dinner at Long Trail Brewery. Also we really enjoyed Crowley cheese factory and Green Mountain Sugar House (which are only a few minutes from the house) My husband’s a history buff so he really enjoyed Coolidge Homestead as well. Sandy (the owner) was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely helpful, pleasant, and very organized. The cottage is stocked with everything you could ever possibly need and then some. It was very clean and cozy . My family likes to explore new places each year but Vermont and this cottage has a piece of our hearts and we can’t wait to return!

Stayed Jul 20, 2019The cabin was nicely situated on a wooded, private, lakefront lot. The lake is remote with preserved land and only a handful of cabins scattered around part of the lake. We found the cabin to be comfortable and well stocked. The owner, Sandy, was very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great stay. We enjoyed fishing, swimming and canoeing mostly every day or just relaxing on the dock or the cabin's deck. Overall a very nice stay! Thank you Sandy!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Wow! For 30 years our extended family has been coming to the Lake Ninevah area to enjoy all that central Vermont has to offer. Family growth prevents us now from all fitting any longer in the family cabin, so this year we ventured out to rent this home, which is located within walking distance from the family cabin. From our first contact with the owner Sandy, to our sad last day, this has been a first class experience. The property, while rustic, is very well maintained and plenty roomy. Detailed instructions provided to us before arrival, on site, and before departure took all the stress out of staying somewhere new. Well equipped kitchen met all of our needs.Beautiful views of the lakefront from the comfy living room, and literally only 10 or 20 paces to get out to the lake and private dock. The canoe was put to good use all week, with lots of swimming and fishing. Sizeable largemouth and smallmouth bass, yellow perch and sunfish were caught, with a nice 3 pound smallmouth caught right off the dock. Lots of lawn chairs and a convenient picnic table provided outdoor dining experiences, and the fire ring and provided fire wood made for many memorable S'mores and relaxing evenings... Lake Ninevah itself is remarkable, and with a 5 mph speed limit and its being mostly surrounded by the conservation minded Wilderness Community and Farm and Wilderness Camps - this lake is the ultimate peaceful Vermont Lake. A pair of nesting loons with their two babies provided great entertainment and musical accompaniment 24 hours a day. A majestic bald eagle visited every afternoon. Seemed like there were never more than 2 or 3 folks on canoes or boats out on the lake at any time - really felt like it was our personal lake. If you are looking for peace, quiet, relaxation and an opportunity to get back in touch with nature and the environment, this place is for you. Only 340 days until we get to return to the quiet peaceful shores of Lake Ninevah and the comfy hominess of Snugglers' Cove!
