Stayed Apr 24, 2024Beautiful villa, which stayed cool even in 26-28 degree weather. Everything was well set up, and Sonia was available to help if we needed anything The villa is 15 minutes walk from San Giorgio di Cremano station, and from there you can travel to larger cities, Pompei, Vesuvius, etc.

Stayed Aug 17, 2019We stayed in Sonia's beautiful place for a few days with our 2 year old son. Sonia is a great host, directions were clear and the place is such that you have your own privacy within the grounds. Only 15mins from the seaside and very close access to the motorway, perfect to visit Napoli, Pompei and other sites around. The calm and quiet of Sonia's property will also be appreciated after a day in the very busy Napolitan life ;) Everything you need inside the housse even if you were to stay longer than us. 10/10 would recommend ! Stayed Oct 30, 2018If I’m honest, apart from the Herculaneum excavations, I found the Naples area a bit disappointing. But this property made the holiday a good one anyway. Sonja is a perfect hostess, available and helpful if needed, but otherwise thoughtfully absent so I was left in peace. She very kindly arranged a taxi from and to the airport, a most useful service. Two things stand out: the terrace and garden, with orange trees and shrubs, are very lovely, and the bed is very comfortable, so I slept very well indeed. San Giorgio a Cremano station is only 10 minutes’ walk away, giving access to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples by train and metro (but walk carefully - the traffic is insane).

Stayed Jun 16, 2017Through Sonia and others we found out Napoli people are very caring for their guests. Ciro the taxi awaited us at the airport, as agreed with Sonia, with a colorful sign, to bring us to the secluded gardens with our holiday rent. One of the top features of this place are the gardens, and the terrace, because every morning you can sit outside and enjoy your breakfast besides the fruittrees, flowers and palmtrees, shaded from the sun, or you can sit in the sun. The circulare will bring you to Napoli, Ercolano, Pompei and Sorrento, where you can take a cheap regular bus with stunning views to Positano, for a daytrip. We walked to the circulare train, i think its 1 km, perfectly doable, but beware, the last train goes about 21.30, then one has to take a night bus from Garibaldi. Nightlife is one big party so its easy to loose track of time.. Warm recommendations, Dirk Jan

Stayed Oct 18, 2016This cottage is a recently converted outbuilding of a classic Italian-style villa that features beautiful gardens and fountains and an adjoining citrus grove. It is very ample for two and could accomodate one or two others, with supplemental bedding arrangements. It has tile floors, great details, a fireplace, lots of light. The bed is very comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are new and function well. It has a “split” air conditioner/heater of ample capacity. It is very quiet and seems quite secure, with parking included. The family lives next door in the main villa building. Sonia, the family member who manages the property, is easily reachable and very helpful. If you’re driving, the house is easily reachable from the E45 autostrada. If you’re on foot, you’ll have to walk about one-mile from the nearest station on the Circumvesuviana train line (San Giorgio a Cremano). It’s a pleasant walk - partly through an urban stretch and then along a country road. You can reach downtown Naples on the Circumvesuviana in about a half hour (but note that the trains don’t always run that frequently). You can reach Herculaneum on the Circumvesuviana in about fifteen miniutes and, from there, take a bus to near the crater of Mt. Vesuvius. Note that the “National Park of Vesuvius” is actually quite urban in its lower parts; it becomes more of a real natural park as you get to higher elevations.
