We truly enjoyed our vacation! We got to see the beautiful redwoods in Jedidiah Smith Park as well as Humboldt. We also visited a different beach every day! Secret beach was our favorite! The master bed was pretty lumpy and the pillows were not the greatest, but we felt very cozy in this home by the ocean!
This house was awesome. Beautiful coastal views. The private beach was wonderful, especially at low tide. Comfortable, clean, well-lit home. We hope to return.
The beach is a fairly steep 70 steps down. Place is perfect for 4 people - 2 couples but day bed in entryway would be a little tricky. Very well equipped in terms of kitchen, linens, outdoor furniture. I've stayed there twice.
Hope to be back soon!
The views are amazing. When it storms you can see all the weather changes.
Beautiful, cozy, clean home. Can't beat the location or access to beach. Better & larger than pictures show. All we needed for our stay. House was close to town but felt secluded and private. Would love to stay again! Thank you Cathy & Mike!
The view of this property is absolutely beautiful. The house was immaculate. The furnishings are dated and somewhat worn, but clean. The property managers were quick to respond and very friendly, which makes the following difficult to bring up, as we would like to visit the property again. Two caveats: 1) It would be nice if the king size bed was in the room with the view. The queen size was much too soft for us (but that’s a personal preference). 2) The big issue is the extremely poor condition of the advertised hot tub. As an electrical/general contractor, I wouldn’t step foot in it. It was not only falling apart, but when it was serviced, we were told the water was only changed once a week. For sanitary reasons, especially during COVID19, it should be changed after every change of occupants. Again, we loved the property, just wouldn’t use the hot tub.
Well maintained and supplied. Hot tub cover impossible to remove so I couldn’t use it. My only complaint is the overuse of air fresheners/deodorizers. The scent was way too much. After I aired the house out it was fine.
We had a wonderful time staying in this house. It had beautiful views of the ocean, easy and very private beach access, comfortable deck. My 16 month old daughter loved running in the grass just off of the deck, and loved the beach. We lucked out with sunny days (in Feb!) and enjoyed spending time on the deck and in the grass. She also enjoyed watching the birds. Comfortable beds, easy to use kitchen. The hot tub needs to be upgraded. The foam insulation is exposed on the side and should be covered. It was really hard for my 66 year old mother to get into the tub without a step. The cover on the hot tub leaked and hot tub water was pooled on top. It was not very hot, and impossible for us to get the cover back on. For the heat, I would also highly recommend using the fireplaces to get the house warm, it didn't warm up until we used those as an additional heat source.
Very cozy cottage with beautiful view, nice little lawn, deck and hot tub. Enjoyed the intimate local beach, sea lions, and friendly neighbors. Heater works great. :) Soft sheets, everything homey and comfortable. Thank you so much!
