Our living room is just the place to relax after days of exploring the wild beauty of the region. You’ll find lots of natural light in here – and woodsy decor rooted in rich blues and soft leathers. The dining area is open to the kitchen, making it effortless to interact between the two. Other things to note
TRAINS
As a historic railway town, Dunsmuir has trains that pass through 4-5 times a day. The earliest train comes around 9:00 am while the last one comes during the night. While you may faintly hear a train while inside the house, they are not disruptive to most people. Please reach out if you have any questions – I’m happy to help.
PETS
We’re happy to host your furry friends. We can accept up to two dogs or cats for a nominal $20 fee per stay. All pets must be house-trained.
QUIET HOURS
Thank you for observing our quiet hours between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am. This ensures the peace of the neighborhood and our standing as courteous neighbors.
TRASH DAY
As our trash day is on Thursdays: an employee usually comes to the house on Wednesday evenings to roll our outside trash bins to the street. The bins are then returned near the front porch on Thursdays. One less thing for you to worry about!
GUEST LIMIT
Our Birch Tree Mountain Getaway can accommodate up to four guests total. To minimize wear and tear on our home, outside guests are not allowed. The second unit may be available to rent for those who have large groups, please inquire.
SMOKING
To keep our home fresh and clean for everyone, smoking is not permitted inside. If smoke is detected, a $300 fee will be applied to your reservation. You can, however, smoke in the backyard (please close the sliding glass doors and windows).
PARKING
Our driveway is available for you to use for one car. Please park in the driveway on days when snow falls so our street can be plowed and you don’t get snowed in. Please note that the other rental may have a guest and they will also need to park in the driveway.
Additional Parking/Snow Removal:
Additional cars can park on the street, except when snow is expected. Snow removal generally takes place when we’ve accumulated approximately three inches of snow on the ground. On street parking is prohibited during snow removal, therefore, vehicles left on the street may be subject to tow at the owner’s expense (Municipal Code 10.04.010). Snow plows will complete a minimum of two passes down each side of the street in order to keep travel lanes open to safe passage. Residents/Guests are asked to stay informed about forecasts of snow accumulations and to plan accordingly.
Designated Parking Areas: Limited parking is available at the South City Hall parking lot, North City Hall parking lot and at the community building in North Dunsmuir. These areas are for temporary use during snow storms.
Very comfortable, highly recommend
We very much enjoyed our stay in this home. It is beautifully updated and has a great kitchen. Anything I needed to cook with was in easy reach. And, there is a very nice grocery store in walking distance. The dining space is right in the kitchen and has tons of natural light from the many windows. The area is very quiet. The ease of entry was great and communication with the owner also very good. Thanks for everything!
The property was clean and the theme was great. Felt very cozy.
Very clean, fantastic decor, feels homey. Nice neighborhood, easy on/off freeway for visiting tourist areas nearby. Great coffee! Highly recommend.
This place was so adorable! Clean and spacious. Close to everything…Shasta, and McCloud. The neighbors were super friendly and the neighborhood nice. We will be back! Be sure to download the guide they send prior to checking in since it has all Wi-Fi info.
Clean, comfortable and lovely place to stay in Dunsmuir. Enjoyed all the special touches and especially enjoyed the color scheme.
It was located perfectly to our venue. The home was clean and charming. The tub was a great addition
Very nice well appointed property. Clean and comfortable in a good location. Nicely decorated and very pleasant.
Enjoyed our stay. Just wish more businesses were open. One store and a pizza joint were the only thing open.
This house is really cute and comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches and a really friendly host. It was great that we were allowed to bring our dog. There was room for my husband and I and our teenage daughters. It's definitely the nicest house on the block. The architecture of the old houses in the neighborhood is fun to check out on walks.
Was a perfect home base for a little anniversary getaway. Was clean, well appointed and just lovely! Highly recommend these hosts!
From the start, the instructions and communications with the host were all very clear and easy to understand. The place is very well-decorated and furnished. Very cozy! It’s a two minute walk to the Main Street to get to some restaurants and another street away is the arts district. Wintertime, has very little traffic. It’s got a beautiful view of the mountains and the sunrise. You’ll love this place for a short weekend or a whole week. Everything you need to store leftovers or cook a full multi-course meal.
My husband and I came for a weekend get away! This was exactly what we needed!! We loved the place, wonderfully decorated! We listened to music, played games and drank french press (we came home and bought one! )! Thank you for a great stay!!
We stayed here two nights on the way from Arizona to Washington, stopping to ski at Mt. Shasta Ski Park. The house is very nice and comfortable and a short drive to the ski area. We could hear the couple downstairs enjoying each other at night, but they didn't keep us up late. We were never able to get the wifi or TV to work, but were able to amuse ourselves.
Beautiful home, even better in person. The space was just what we needed! Communication was impeccable. The location is also very close to mt. Shasta ski park.
Communication was great when needed, The place was immaculate, beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, all essentials and thoughtful extras provided by host. Perfect place to explore Shasta, would book again.
