At the head of an untouched valley some 200m above sea, 'Lugar pequeno' is located in a place of privilege in the small hamlet of Golmar. The house, fully equipped and carbon-neutral, is the owners' summer home. It fusions tradition and family memories with a modern touch. All rooms and garden enjoy impressive ocean views over a green valley, forest and some 80Km of virgin Atlantic coast. The house’s unique location make the clean views over the unspoiled rural valley a natural extension of the garden. It receives sunlight from dawn to sunset. Within a Natural area, part of the EU network Natura 2000, you will enjoy complete peacefulness, being only at 4 Km distance to the fishing town of Cedeira, with shops, all services, lovely beach and seaport, and very good tapas restaurants.

Nearby, you will enjoy some of the best sandy virgin beaches in Europe and outstanding hiking paths from the house through the forest, cliffs, the lighthouse.... Other activities, like surfing, via ferrata, horse riding,, e-bikes or kayak are available in the area.

Beaches: You can choose among beaches with extensive dunes and wonderful views (Vilarube), calm water (A Magdalena) or high waves (Pantin, Baleo) , birdwatching or kite-surfing(Frouxeira), etc. Cala Sonreiro is the hidden cove beach closer to the house, near to 'Castillo de La Concepción' (ancient fort defending Cedeira´s harbour).
In summer, “Pantin classic” is a well-known qualifying series of the world surfing championship.
Last weekend of June local ranchers gather hundreds of wild horses in Capelada mountains (12Km away), to haircut and deworming horses, branding foals born in springtime and trading some of them. A small fair and lively lunch accompanies these activities.

Excursions : Other interesting spots to visit (within less than one-hour drive) are, driving East, Estaca de Bares Cape, Ortigueira, O Barqueiro and Viveiro and, driving West, the Natural Park Fragas do Eume, Pontedeume or St. Felipe castle in Ferrol.

The cities of A Coruña or Santiago de Compostela, are excellent options for a day excursion (at 75 and 90 min-drive). Santiago is a must, its medieval centre is UNESCO´s world heritage, with the impressive cathedral (tomb of the apostle St. James) has been pilgrimage destination for centuries. A Coruña, financial centre of Galicia and home of the biggest Spanish fashion firm, Zara, and the well-know beer Estrella Galicia, is a lively city with a wide range of cultural, gastronomic and shopping possibilities, as well as a very nice old medieval quarter and marina. Inland, Lugo (100 min. drive) is an ancient city surrounded by an impressive complete Roman wall (walking circular path of some 2 Km on the wall). Its charming old town includes a XII century cathedral, a baroque town hall and lovely squares and alleys.

How to get to: Flights to the airports of Santiago de Compostela (SCQ) or A Coruna (LCG) are often available. The 1.15 hour or 1.30 hour drive from A Coruña or Santiago airports is a pleasure in itself.

The house was fantastic. So many beautiful areas in the house to relax and enjoy. The property and view are amazing. So tranquil, so quiet and so peaceful. The hosts were available for everything we needed. The area in Galicia is breathtaking. The house is a few minutes to town up a very steep road. The house is incredibly solid and has everything one needs for a fantastic stay. The house is very big with 4 bedrooms and so many great areas to sit, read, meditate and soak in the beautiful surroundings. If you are in the area do not hesitate to stay here. Rodger

The best and beautiful oceanfront home in the lovely Golmar hamlet near to Cedeira. A paradise in the northwestern mountains at Galicia with the most spectacular sunset views through the North Atlantic Ocean. Everyone from my family loved this home away home! It is well stock with everything needed, closed to the most wonderful beaches and restaurants at Cedeira!Thank you Juan and Macarena for all! Your brand new home has everything needed to enjoy the best vacations! Everyone from my family loved your beautiful home.

Fantastic views in house in need of updating in some areas and better cleaning. Owners communicated well and were helpful. They explained they had new cleaner which does not excuse the somewhat lacking cleaning job.

We loved it here..the west view over the sea is amazing and creates the most wonderful light over the ocean which is constantly changing. The hosts were extremely helpful and the house is perfectly set up for a family.. we all felt so relaxed and we enjoyed trips to the local cove beach and other surrounding beaches. It’s very quiet too and we used the Gaddis supermarket in Cedeira for food etc.. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation for a relaxing and peaceful break. You definitely need a car to get around. ??☺️

The house has stunning views over the surrounding area. This can be appreciated from multiple rooms in the house as well as when eating dinner in front of the house. The house is a nice mix between traditional build and comfort. We hope to come back some day! Nb When in town be sure to check out Kilowatio for dinner!

They use to think the coastline of the Galicia region was the end of the world…really, it’s a universe to awaken your five senses. This is the “perfect perch” to rest, read, relax and daydream. As the days melted by, we did ultimately leave to explore our local area of Cedeira, the Santiago de Compostela and the Praia das Catadrais. However, our happiest days were just staying on this beautiful property gazing at the ocean and exploring Cedeira...such a quaint town. The Galicia region is filled with forests of infinite shades of green, lighthouses of hope, stony “punta” coasts with wide coves of beach and the beautiful songs of the nightingale birds. The owners of this serene home definitely paid attention to detail with fine furnishings, stocked kitchen and plenty of comfortable linens. Most important to us was the electric heaters and great fireplace, since it did get chilly at night while we were there. They were very attentive to all our questions upon our arrival. They even provided additional firewood via a neighbor - so very kind. If you are going to the Galicia Region, this is the place to stay. BOOK NOW!

We spent 3 days at this beautiful home... and of course, hated to leave. The house is absolutely amazing - stocked with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and memorable stay, beautifully furnished, with breathtaking views of the sea and surrounding areas. The village/hamlet that the house is in is great for a quiet and relaxing getaway. The area around the house is great for hiking, photography, or just to take a walk within nature. Oh, and just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we saw wild horses! The town of Cedeira is a short drive from the house. There, you can find restaurants, bars, shopping and a grocery store (supermarket) with a wide selection of food items to purchase if you wish to cook at home (which we did for several meals). You won't want to leave!

There were 6 of us (3 couples) from the UK. We spent 2 weeks in this very lovely house. The location was superb with views over the sea. The house was well appointed with all that you could possibly need for a great holiday. Everything worked as it ought to and provided a fabulous base from which we could explore the immediate and wider locality of Northern Spain. The local walking is excellent through eucalyptus forests; wider afield there are coastal pathways overlooking magnificent scenery. The local town provides everything would need with good supermarkets, fresh food shops and of course plenty of fresh fish of all descriptions. We visited one or two of the restaurants and found them very good indeed. The local tourism office is extremely helpful. We should definitely come back another time.

For us it was well worth the long trip to Galicia and the wonderful house of Macarena located at the end of the world. The mix of challenging activities eg. surfing, hiking and biking with relaxing moments in the peaceful and scenic village of Golmar was perfect for us. We´ll be back! /Olov with family from Sweden
