Enjoy the relaxing and fun atmosphere of this one of a kind log house. It is tucked in the mountains at the “end of the road” in the old mining town of Jardine, Montana, which is 6 miles northeast of Gardiner – the north entrance to Yellowstone Park. This place offers a nice balance between seclusion and easy access to endless sightseeing, wildlife viewing, and outdoor recreation opportunities.

The North Fork of Bear Creek is only about 100 yards below. It is a beautiful mountain stream and the fishing is good! Nights are quiet and peaceful. And the night sky is brilliant – take time to gaze at the stars.

This house is rustic and has lots of character. It is clean and cozy, but the layout and decor aren’t too fussy or uptight. The original portion of the house was built in 1994 with logs skidded out of the forest with a team of Percheron horses and peeled by hand. It includes an open kitchen with appliances and dishes. There is a deck where you can kick back and take in the scenery. One bathroom has an antique clawfoot tub. There is a loft/bedroom with a homemade queen size log bed. There is a nice sounding old piano for the fun of it.

A versatile 'great' room, which includes a bar (with sink, fridge and TV) and a full bathroom was added on to the house in 2001, and it is ideal for entertaining and hanging out. There are antlers, tanned hides, antiques, etc. throughout the house – sort of a wildlife/western theme. There is a large yard with trees, a picnic table, and a firepit. The native wildflowers are beautiful and plentiful. And various species of birds and wildlife will share this property with you.

There are also two convertible sofa beds in addition to a bedroom and the loft. The unique floor plan of this home can easily and comfortably accommodate a group of 6. This property is kid friendly and your well behaved pets are welcome too!

The cabin was perfect for our two week stay. Becky and Loyd provided everything including plenty of wood for the wood stove. The cabin literally had everything we needed to feel at home and very clean! Staying outside of Gardiner was great. The park entrance was 20 minutes away.6 miles of dirt road with many washboards was the only negative. It did get graded the last three days we were there which helped a lot.

Our experience was great! We enjoyed the charm and setup of the cabin. Our hostess, Becky was on top of everything and anticipated our needs from the beginning to include shampoo, body wash, conditioner, toothpaste, sugar, coffee, frosted mugs (freezer), etc. The property was so peaceful and quiet which is what you need to get away from the crowds after a long day of hiking and exploring the park. The only sounds we heard was the roar of the beautiful creek below the property. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had. We could sip coffee on the front porch in the mornings and smell the fresh scent of pine surrounded by the gorgeous flowers on the porch. We will absolutely book this cabin again when we return to Yellowstone in the future.

Relaxing environment, plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked with anything needed to prepare a meal. All the little touches made us feel at home.

AMAZING stay. We absolutely loved the cabin. Just about anything you could reasonably need is there. Clean, cozy, and peaceful. One of the best places we’ve stayed anywhere, period. Will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved staying here! It was so nice to have a quiet place to return to after the business of the park. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stay here!

We had an incredible time in this rustic and fairly remote cabin. If you’re looking to get away from it all, there can hardly be a better place. Becky was flexible and accommodating, while being easy to communicate with. This was our first time using vrbo, and I could not have asked for a better experience.

Our family of five spent four wonderful nights at this cabin near Gardiner. The cabin was super clean, well equipped, and exceeded our expectations in many ways. The cabin has a ton of character, is fully furnished, has tons of dishes and everything you'd need or want in the kitchen, lots of bedding options, and lots of fun bonus features like: a piano, an old school CD stereo with lots of fun CDs to play & listen to, and a wood fireplace stocked with lots of fresh firewood! Even though it was mid-June during our stay, the evenings were chilly and we made a fire most nights. We cooked many meals in the cabin, we cooked smores outside around the firepit, and I made a fresh pot of coffee each morning while sitting on the front porch and listening to the river stream a small walk from the cabin. If you are adventurous and want to hike a bit, there is a trailhead a short distance from the cabin. We took many family hikes, 1-3 miles round trip, with gorgeous views. About the only slight mark against the cabin is the road from Gardiner is about 6 miles of some of the roughest gravel road I've ever traveled, but our minivan survived it (mostly -we had to get a tire repaired due to a drywall screw we picked up on the first trip). Overall a lovely stay, hosts were easy to communicate with and very responsive, and for a few days in Yellowstone the cabin was super convenient and a beautiful way to end and start each day.

This home is in the top 2 places we have stayed in our many travels. The hosts are amazing! So friendly and helpful but give you your privacy. Becky left the best instructions on everything from how to get to the cabin to how to use the woodburning stove. When we arrived Lloyd had already started a fire for us , so we would come into a warm and inviting cabin.Lloyd csme over the next day and introduced himself and let us know if we needed anything to just let them know. The cabin is stocked with everything you could posdibly need , which is so appreciated. Its literally like being in your own home, just bring your groceries ( which there is store about 20 mins). 2 bathrooms with 2 showers and shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, plus other extras all supplied! Tbe cabin is decorated adorably and has 2 TVs, the home is quite spacious and the grounds are huge and there is a creek with rushing water that you can hear from the porch of the cabinand is a short walk down to it.If you like wildlife, you will not be dissappointed. Saw deer and stellar Jays at the cabin and on the road to the cabin, elk , mag pies we and more deer.Yellowstone is about a 30 mins drive, so this cabin is perfect in everyway! The only thing will caution about is the road getting to the cabin is long and very rough and in certain weather condions might need 4 wheel drive.

Our stay at the cabin was nothing short of excellent. When we arrived it was cozy and welcoming. It was fully stocked with every kitchen item you could even think of needing. The cabin was much larger than I expected and was the perfect place to return to after long hours outdoors in Yellowstone and the surrounding area. Fall was settling in when we arrived, and we were able to warm the cabin up with a fire in the evenings. If you want to fall asleep to the sound of rushing water in the creek and with views of thousands of stars, this is the cabin for you. I cannot recommend it enough.

The cabin was perfect. Supplied so well, we needed very little from the grocery store and loved the cabin so much we never ate out the entire time we were there. From the CD collection, to the decor, down to the bedding, everything was absolutely perfect. We are already making plans for our return trip.

Looking for a quiet, remote get away? This beautiful cabin has it all. Well equipped, comfortable, and stunning views. Close to Yellowstone and yet a short drive to get away from the crowds. The road leading to the cabin can be a little rough, but well worth the drive. I highly recommend this cabin!

A short drive from Gardiner, this hand built home feels like a cozy Montana hideaway. Every detail is anticipated. It’s very well stocked. We stayed in late September and built fires in the stove each night which amply heated the home. My favorite part is the location, just steps away from Bear Creek and great hiking trails. If you like log cabins and mountain cozy, you’ll love it here too.

Such a beautiful place, wonderful rustic home, stocked better than any other rental we’ve been to. Becky and Lloyd are great hosts, happy to help. Location is so close to Yellowstone so much better than staying in Gardner.

This cabin is great, it is well stocked and has everything you need. The only downside might be the distance from Gardiner up a mostly gravel road but otherwise no complaints.
