Hale Vu is a luxurious multi-level gated home with unimpeded panoramic ocean view from every floor. The 3rd floor balcony and top 2 floor lanais have glass panels, so nothing blocks your view while lounging on the deck or relaxing on the balcony. The roof-top crow’s nest is perfect for sunbathing or watching whales migrate right off-shore. Below the house are lava tide pools teaming with sea life, where you can spot green turtles most of the time from 2nd and 3rd floor lanais, right outside living room's floor-to-ceiling windows or from 4th floor roof-top. Both lots on either side of the house are vacant, providing complete privacy. Nighttime star watching is an entirely new experience as there is little ambient light in the immediate area.
3 beautifully appointed bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, with oceanfront master suite offers breathtaking ocean views and lanai access. Waking up to spectacular sunrises, sound of crashing waves and the ocean breeze, is heavenly. In the master bedroom is a king size, iComfort® split adjustable bed with massage settings. The second bedroom also has a king size bed, and the third bedroom has two twin beds.
The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and utensils for comfortable family meals when you are not out exploring the island. A full laundry room provides large washing machine and dryer for your conveniences. Free WIFI access. Two-car parking in garage inside gate.
Our caretaker for the home is diligent in making your stay at Hale Vu an unforgettable experience. Thom also lives nearby and has in-depth tips and recommendations to local activities, dining and area guides.

The view was amazing the location was perfect for doing activities on that side of the island. Our Caretaker Tom provided lots of local information to make our stay more pleasant. The house was well equipped with anything we needed. We left relaxed and refreshed

What a unique property. We could just sit on any level and be mesmerized by the crashing waves. Listening to them at night was also a joy.

Deeply disapointing. Upon arrival, I pulled back the sheets in the master bedroom to find large patches of black mold on the matress cover. There were ugly brown stains on the matress and stains on the bedsheets. We could not sleep on that bed so we slept in the back bedroom. That night, rainfall, blown by wind, hit the window screen above our heads which mists the bed with moisture and puddles on the window sill above our heads. The window sill is rotted and covered with more black mold. We were breathing black mold spores all night. The musty and moldy smell throughout the house is masked by an electric perfume emitter that eminates a sickly cheap perfume smell throughout the house. The incredible view is hard to see because all the windows are covered by a milky film of mineral deposits on the glass. You cannot enjoy the view by looking out the windows. The teflon frying pan in the kitchen was absolutely covered by knife cuts and is unsafe to use. The cutting boards are deeply beyond their lifespan. Most everything in this house is old and ratty such as the light switches, window blinds, the dirty and stained carpet and and the overall level of cleanliness. We booked five nights but after four nights we couldn't take it anymore and left a day early to go stay in a hotel just to get away from this house. Days later, our clothing still smells like the musty house. The property manager, Thom, greeted us upon arrival and was great and very informative.

Thom, the property manager, was very friendly and helpful. He recommended several places to visit and restaurants that were perfect for our trip. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. We actually loved the open-air environment! The views were incredible. We saw turtles and whales almost everyday from the rooftop and dolphins on one occasion. We would definitely stay here again if our travels bring us back to Hawaii.

House is located right next to a popular lookout point. People would either drive up or walk to the edge and sometimes stay for hours. Never was a bother to us. Nice neighborhood, easy to find.

We really enjoyed staying at this oceanfront home. We were greeted by Thom on the first day and he was very helpful not only with giving us a tour of the home, but giving us insight into the local things to do and places to eat. The view from the home was incredible. Only home in that area along the ocean where we were able to watch sea turtles down below from the open deck on the top floor. I highly recommend this home if you’re looking for a great view, beautiful home and seclusion.

The location was truly spectacular with the ocean right below the property. The lanai on the top floor was perfect for sunbathing and enjoying the waves. The neighborhood was quiet with just the morning dogs reacting to each other-just as we are used to at home. Thom, the caretaker, was very helpful and the market he recommended in Pahoa was great.

The view at this property is worth it all. The crashing waves, the whale sightings, and the stars at night that filled the sky beyond what you can imagine. Simply beautiful!!! There is nothing better than that first cup of coffee in the morning watching the sun rise. We got to do that most every morning (with the exception of when it rained). The house itself has a few maintenance issues that come from the wear and tear of being so close to the ocean and in direct line of the salty sprays from the waves crashing onto the beautiful rocks. The owners graciously received our feedback and plan to address those areas of concern. The property manager was incredibly helpful and met us at the house when we arrived, giving us a tour of the home. In the final days of our visit, Mother Nature presented the island with a major winter storm and our power was out for nearly 34 hours. Thom brought candles and flashlights to help us endure the dark nights and we considered this time an adventure. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this home and are grateful for the support our hosts/Thom provided both before, during and after the storm. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

If you just love to watch the waves for hours on end, you can stop looking and pick this house! We particularly loved the comfortable living room furniture which made it perfect to watch the waves crash on the rocks, and look for turtles! Very serene.
