Two-story charming retreat w/deck, private gas grill, and private washer/dryer

The house was cozy and comfortable, and the hosts were responsive when we had questions.

Dirty carpet ,bad mattresses, kitchen fan greasy, bedrooms sterile, no extra blankets to put over summertime bed covers, high price for bad property

Great stay for us and our two kids! Literal perfect location for us going to storyland, shopping and checking out Diana’s bath plus echo lake! Easy in and out. Already planning on renting again!

Perfectly clean and everything worked. Lights a little tricky to figure out. No dishwasher and could use places to hang up towels. Some poison ivy outside. Other than that, it was a nice, quiet, well-kept place, pleasantly decorated, exactly as advertised. Nice area, too.

The listing says gas grill. There was no gas grill available. The home is clean but musty if the AC is not on.

Updated bathroom and bedrooms, cozy, excellent location, easy check-in and check-out. Would definite rent again!

My husband and I stayed here for a quick vacation after our wedding and it was the perfect relaxing house for the two of us. It was very quiet and comfortable while still very close to anything we wanted to see/do/eat. We loved our stay!

Really nice place, set in the woods with a good view of Cathedral Ledge. While we were there, loggers removed a number of big trees across the street which really improved the view of the ledge, for those of you who have stayed before. Remodeled bath and downstairs bedrooms very nice. Negative - no instructions on how to operate the gas fireplace, had to call for help; no instructions on operating the thermostats. No instructions for the washer / dryer - the washer failed to work, left clothes soaking and wouldn't spin out water. Had to go to town to use laundry and waste vacation time. We picked this place for the washer / dryer and gas fireplace (which did work after getting a response.) Why not have a book on site with instructions? Overall, fun place but the failure of the washer really dampened the deal for us.

Location was great for hiking the Cathedral Ledge and Echo Lake. Five minutes to town. Clean bedrooms and bath!

Kitchen and bathroom was ok

As soon as I stood at the front door, I was greeted by a big smelly trash bin sitting by the front door. This cottage is located in the woods, so it is not strange to see a bunch of spider's web and daddy long legs crawling on the door. I put in the front door code and the door opened easily. Once I walked in, I was greeted by another stale odor in the house. Based on the photos online, I didn't expect the interior would be dark, but my expectations were proven to be wrong. After dealing with the smelly trash bin, the spider's webs, the daddy long legs, and the interior stale odor, I was immediately drawn into a naturally dark room with dim artificial light once I opened the front door. After getting settled in, I walked downstairs to use the restroom which smelled like an uncleaned men's locker room at the gym. The source of this locker room smell actually came from the unwashed shower curtain, which was fully covered in red stain at the bottom. Downstairs was significantly colder (67 degrees) than upstairs (82 degrees). The thermostat did not work. I contacted Vacasa about the nonfunctional thermostat. They responded to my text quickly with a long generic information written in 7 paragraphs. But their generic message did not contain any useful information that could specifically help the thermostat run in this house. The beds were very squeaky, the mattress was firm but sinking in the middle, which made it really uncomfortable to sleep in. The couch upstairs has been used for many years and it has seen better days. It was a great amenity to have a washer and dryer in the house, but the washer stopped running after about 14 minutes. The washer would only rinse, but it would not spin. So I had to take out all the wet dirty clothes and hand-wash them. Overall, this was a bad experience in this dark, cold, smelly house with nonoperational amenities. I'm being generous for giving 2 stars.

Best part was the location! Beautiful backdrop, friendly neighbors, lots of wonderful things to do within minutes!

We stayed here the same time last year and the house was perfect for the 2 of us. Loved the location close to downtown and other attractions. The place was very neat and clean. If you're looking to use the grill make sure to contact guest services for the code to the lockbox to the shed. I made the mistake of not reading my email in it's entirety and missed that part after we brought up all kinds of food we were looking forward to cooking on the grill. If you're into hiking there are trails just steps away and relaxing on the deck listening to the climbers was cool. All in all it was an enjoyable week.

We loved staying at Ski Cabin Escape! The chalet was impeccably clean! The furniture and beds were very comfortable. There was a beautiful deck to enjoy the great views! I highly recommend this chalet!

House was wonderful. Views from sofa and deck of Cathedral ledge and rock climbers was perfect.

My husband and I have stayed in this house for 3 days in May and we liked our stay here. It had all the necessary amenities. The house was very clean and all the couches and chairs were in good condition. They even have many books and board games. The bathroom and bedrooms were very clean. However the only con is that the deck and the area near front entrance were not clean. We couldn’t use the deck space as it was very dirty. But other than that the place was really cozy and accessible to many trails and restaurants.

Felt like home! We had everything we needed for a weekend stay- but would have been happy here for months. Very roomy and homey. You can open the door to the deck for fresh air or bundle up next to the propane stove!
