Stayed Jun 10, 2026Convenient location right on the edge of Custer. Owner met us at the door with keys; even provided some baked goods as a welcome. We were a party of 11 which included 5 children ages 5-12. Dining tables inside and on the sunny deck were long enough for seating all of us. Large yard and huge rocks for climbing provided entertainment for the kids when we weren’t out sightseeing. Highly recommend for large families.

Stayed May 20, 2026The property was accurately described. Very clean. Hosts were very responsive. We did experience well problems (no water) but when we called them, they promptly had a service man come and install a new switch. While it was inconvenient, I understand that sometimes mechanical things break and were not due to any reasonable fault of the host. Would stay at this site again.

Stayed Sep 25, 2025The old log home was awesome! Comfortable all around with mattresses being being very good. Wanted for nothing, stocked well. Water pressure was good and hot water plentiful. The picture online is deceiving as this is a large home with lots of room. Throughly enjoyed staying here.the photo is the view from the large patio.

Stayed Sep 15, 2025This house was ideal for our vacation to the Black Hills. We had three families on the trip and the house accommodated our needs perfectly. The house was clean, there were toys for the kids, and the kitchen was great for cooking our own meals in the evenings. We would certainly stay here again!

Stayed Sep 11, 2025This cabin is a wonderful place. It is peaceful even though it s fairly close to the highway it doesn’t feel like it. We loved our time . There were games to play and it is close to everything you want to experience in the Black hills. It has all the amenities needed. We arrived a bit early but it was not a problem. The owner was very gracious and let us check in. She was very friendly and kind.

Stayed Aug 11, 2025Our first time staying in the awesome cabin. Check in was a breeze. Our host Cheryl is a gem. We spent a week with our family. Check out was also so easy. Would recommend this location any time. My husband is handicapped but we did well. We loved stargazing at night. This home is fully equipped for cooking or grilling:

Stayed Jun 19, 2025The cabin was nice. The location was great, close to town yet, far enough away that you still felt like you were in a quiet place. There were a lot of beds for people to sleep. They weren't overly comfortable, but they worked. The mosquitos were very bad and it was unseasonably hot when we stayed there. There was no ac, and when it gets to 97 degrees everyday, it was quite hot. I would stay there again, but only in the cooler months since there is no ac. Overall it was a nice getaway with family. I've never stayed somewhere like this, I'd suggest taking pics of things that you notice are damaged to the property and let owners know so that you don't get charged or blamed for something you didn't do. There was an etching on the table of a make of nobody in our family and we never removed the tablecloth on the table, so I didn't know it was even there. We didn't get charged, but still something to be aware of if you are new to this process.

Stayed Sep 26, 2024Overall a very enjoyable stay. Location in Custer was excellent to area activities. There were some areas of the home that were in need of repair and looked like they had been this way for sometime. Nice home for a larger group.
